For Dynasty purposes, I am curious what the consensus is on where to rank Green. Is he entering most people's discussion of Top 5-10? Clearly Graham, Gronk and Julius Thomas are well ahead of Green, but what about Jordan Cameron? Jordan Reed? Would you rank Green ahead of veteran's with a shorter shelf life, such as Vernon Davis or Jason Witten? How does Green's dynasty value compare to other young TE talents such as Eifert, Ertz, Fleener or Dwayne Allen? What sayeth the Pool?

For the record, I have Green ranked #8 for Dynasty purposes:

3. J. Thomas

4. Jordan Cameron

5. Vernon Davis

6. Jordan Reed

7. Tyler Eifert

After another good showing, I may be moving Green up a spot or two in my dynasty rankings. I was concerned that I may have ranked Green a bit too high, even for Dynasty purposes, but based on what I am seeing here, perhaps I have him ranked lower than some.

Pretty good ranking there, imo. I own both Cameron and Green and have Green ranked higher than Cameron for Dynasty - but I'm doing that on the assumption that Gates starts declining quick and Cameron still will have QB woes. But if Cleveland gets a stud at QB in the draft and that QB starts performing right off the bat (or they keep Hoyer and he plays well) - then I'd have to reevaluate the entire thing.

4. V Davis
5. J Reed
6. L Green (I think he'll get his chance to shine next year)
7. J Cameron (with good young QB? He moves up a few spots)

I've seen Eifert a few times and I'd probably have him at 9. I guess I'm not sold as much on him as others. I also would like to work in Clay, from Miami, but I need to see a bit more from him yet. He could easily be up there next year, though.

In-line option Antonio Gates played on 62 snaps, creating a two-tight end base formation. "That's a package we're building," Gates said. "It'll be good for us to help us win football games." Green is the 6'6/238 athletic freak with 4.4 wheels that is now averaging an absurd 22.1 yards per catch on the season and has two touchdowns on 11 targets in his last two games. The Chargers coaches have clearly identified him as a player that needs to be featured in the passing game and will be rewarded for it. Green will be a borderline TE1 against the Giants even if Eddie Royal (chest, toe) returns.

I think it will be a combination of regression and the position as a whole becoming much more competitive. Honestly I would put him in that abstract ~10th tier of TEs with Cook, Pitta, Housler, Clay and Kelce. Could easily finish in the top 10, but I think he is a tier below the rest.

Maybe it's not so much about snaps, obviously being on the field is important, but opportunities & touches. Maybe Green's touches are not coming from Royal so much as from Woodhead in terms of the overall gameplan. And production begets more opportunities too of course. Green's doing a lot with these chances.

It started from the first play.

Ladarius Green was positioned out wide to the left. Antonio Gates was in-line, next to the right tackle.

The two receiving tight ends shared the field.

"That's a package we're building," Gates said. "It'll be good for us to help us win football games."

Gained in a Chargers loss Sunday to the Bengals was a long look at an offensive wrinkle. Gates and Green worked together, sometimes bunched with Green trotting pre-snap from one side of Gates to the other, and the result was Green's most action in any game of his NFL career.

It wasn't close, either.

A week earlier, the 23-year-old Green played a career-high 29 offensive snaps versus the Chiefs. He responded with four catches for a career-high 80 yards, including a 60-yard score that was his first NFL touchdown. Versus Cincinnati, he more than doubled that snap total, taking 61 of a possible 67 reps on offense.

If Gates has a good matchup, that means that Green has a good matchup also.

I think it is safe to assume he will get 5-7 targets. His ypc average is great - I think it is over 20 on the year...so he runs the deep/intermediate routes. Touchdowns are tough to predict, and he hasn't really scored from inside the 10 that I can see.....so, I think his floor is 2-3 catches for 40-50 yards....but has potential that is much higher. He has scored in two straight games, so the chances of him having a statline of 5-100-1 is not at all unrealistic.

I watched the game and Green was mostly lined up in the slot. Sounds like you didn't see it.

Especially for someone with a better skill set and a much bigger mismatch for opposing defenses.

I don't disagree with this, but until it actually happens, there's a legit risk that it won't. What we Green owners need is for Royal to be out again this week and for LG to have a true breakout performance in his stead.

I don't know how anyone could be confident in him when he did very little last week against the 2nd worst defense against TE's.

If you play Cameron, you're really hoping for the same thing that you're hoping for with Green...a TD. But while Green's been on a hot streak and is trending up, Cameron's been cold for a while and is still trending down...especially if Caleb Hanie is starting on Sunday. Giants haven't been playing great against TEs recently, and it's looking like Royal is going to sit out again this week...gotta go with Green.

Lesser known young player with great measurables who was down on the depth chart proves himself as the season wears on, gets opportunities, does much with them, and becomes an increasing part of an offense. This happens every year as teams figure out who they are. It happened earlier this year in San Diego when they figured out who Keenan Allen was. Now they're figuring out what they have in Green.

This is the late season WW gem that will win some people championships. This kind of upside can overcome other deficiencies on your roster. I'm all in. Waived Cameron for him and will bench Gates this weekend. Those guys haven't done much for me, now it's time to give the kid a shot.

About those rankings, they seem very data dependent, that is when situations like this arise where players for one reason or another (QB changes, injuries) start to decline FBG continues to rank them highly. I'd really like to ask them if they are looking at every single player's current situation or are they just plugging in? (By the way Bloom has Cameron much much much lower).

I have the same feeling about Green this week. I am having a hard time benching Julius Thomas for him, but with everything on the line, if Thomas is out, I will opt to go with Green over Martellus Bennett.

Gotta love the enthusiasm here. I am all in on Green's Dynasty value, but you cannot ignore what he is doing right now. With Royal's playing status in question, Green is looking like a solid play for fantasy playoff games this week! I have zero confidence that Jordan Cameron is anything more than a desperation play at this point. Last week, it was a bold move to plug Green into your lineup over Cameron. Now, given his recent trend, Green actually may be the safer play. Count me in.

It's possible, but with how Cook torched ARI in Week 1, I can't imagine that Bowles wouldn't scheme the defense to account for him at all times, especially in the red zone. Take away that monster Week 1 game and Cook has been a ~4 catches for ~45 yards guy all year...only had a TD in 2 other games this year and has disappointed in similar "good on paper" match-ups (e.g., Week 3 @ DAL, Week 5 vs. JAX). He's not someone I'd feel good about rolling with even if the Rams OL was completely healthy, great match-up or not.
