At this point I would rather have Dominic Rhodes. Maybe not to start the season, but certainly come playoff time.

TODAY, I would draft all of those guys ahead of Jordan except Jacobs and Turner. A lot can (and WILL) change between now and September.Jacobs is not a feature back, imo, but I'd put him in the same bucket as Jordan, based on potential TDs alone. But TDs are hard to predict, so I am not at all sold on Jacobs. Turner is a backup at this point. When he is a clear starter, he moves ahead of Jordan based on situation. Oakland still isn't good. That being said, I can see several of those guys finish lower: Cadillac (who I like) hasn't shown durability; T.Jones may be in a RBBC, and I'm not sure he'll get enough TDs; Deuce may take a step behind Bush as Bush ascends; Zona and Minnesota may draft a RB to split carries; D.Williams may be in a RBBC; and at least 6 other RBs on that list have injury concerns (as does Jordan).I see the last 7 or 8 of those guys in the same bucket as Jordan, but most of them are on better teams, so I'd draft them first. I usually project in ranges of yards/TDs; most of those guys' ranges are higher than Jordan's, but their ranges all intersect.

LaMont Jordan (6.02) (spot taken in start-up dynasty draft a few weeks ago)I don't think I would replace any of the guys on that list with Jordan. I just think he is a value pick once you reach the 6th round.

Here is my 1st post. How have I changed my tune......I never said anyone should take him early. I do think he will put up nice numbers it he stays healthy and gets the bulk of the carries. But that's what I said in my 1st post. He has a lot of ??? LaMont Jordan has more than a few ? surrounding him going into the 2007 season. Will he get healthy and stay healthy for 16 games? How much will Rhodes cut into his carries?

The guy was a top 10 draft pick in most (ADP 9th) Re-draft and DYNASTY leagues. Will he make a come back?

2007 projections:

282/1100/8 40/320/1

How can you guys honestly projection Lamont Jordan for more yardage and/or TDs than Addai got last year? Not only is Lamont a lesser RB than Addai, but he plays for Oakland. I mean c'mon people. Do you really think Dominic Rhodes is going to be a non-entity there?

226/1081/7 , 40/325/1 <--- Addai's numbers

More negatively from LaMont... Tho, the article sounded very positive about the Raiders and Kiffin overall...

"I'm not going to get excited about anything," running back LaMont Jordan said. "Last year, we looked pretty good in minicamp and things like that, but you saw what happened during the course of the season. For me, I'm not really concerned with how we look as a team. I'm going to worry more about myself as an individual."

I still like the upside of Jordan. His first season with the raiders is alot better than 12+ guys on that list. Rhodes will struggle outside of Indy. His upside isnt even close too Jordans. He will be a good #3 RB. Maybe a #2 and he was a legit #1 in 05.. He is a great buy low guy. Go ahead and take Caddy and Jacobs 3-4 rounds ahead... You may feel better but you wont be any better...

its easy to stop a rb when your coach only uses as many plays as the original techno bowl....

hopefully this season their offense will resemble something from this decade at least....

As with most players, Jordan will represent value depending where he's getting drafted.

The arguments in this thread have made me realize he may actually be somewhat decent next year, good job guys.

I find it VERY difficult to believe that Rhodes was brought in purely to back up Jordan. I think the absolute best case scenario is that he gets about 15 carries a game, and ekes out 3.8 per behind that miserable line. That's a ceiling of about 920 yards. Depending on whether or not he gets used at the goal line, he'll likely wind up with between 4 and 7 TD. He should also get used more in the passing game, given the inept play calling last year and his talents as a receiver. Again, assuming he can haul in a couple of passes a game, best case scenario is 30-35 receptions for about 150-200 yards, and perhaps a score or two. Accordingly, I put his ceiling at about 1100 combined yards and 6-8 total touchdowns. This makes him a pretty reasonable #3/4 type guy.Unfortunately, I don't think he's going to get close to his ceiling. With Rhodes around, and the Raiders' poor overall offensive play, I think he'll be lucky to get 10-12 carries a game at about 3.6 per, or about 700 rushing yards, with about 125-150 receiving yards, and 4-6 total scores. He now becomes a #4 RB. Given that he'll probably be drafted as a RB3, I don't believe that Jordan will represent value in most drafts.
Very
