he's listed on FBGs projections as getting the most stats of Tennessee's DBs, yet i can't find him in their rankings.am i missing something? or is it just an accidental omission?

I think Norton's projections are about what Thompson did last season, which may be optimistic with Hope and Thornton around. Those numbers netted a #65 ranking last year by FBG scoring. I don't think there's much more upside for Thompson than that projection. I see about ten or twelve guys around Thompson's projection that I think have the potential to outperform their projections by about 5-10% (Milloy, Rolle, Hope, Bullocks, etc). So there's a confidence factor involved as well. Would you rather take the almost assuredly pedestrian production of Lamont Thompson or the player with about the same stats who probably won't outperform his given projection by much, but does have the potential to do so.Projections and rankings are really tough to reconcile when you get to the bunching points in the curve. Five tackles or a couple of big plays can turn a #60 guy into a borderline starter and vice versa.IMO, with a replacement level guy like Thompson you can roster him as value if you strongly believe in him or you wait to draft (or bump his ranking) until you see a promising trend.
