Lance Zeirlein Mock (1 Viewer)

Adam Caplan released a mock today that’s a little different

- Justin Blackmon still on the board at 7 for the Jags and the Jags bypassing him for Melvin Ingram

- Miami at 8 taking Blackmon instead of Tannehill when they’re hurting at Qb. Matt Moore?

- Eagles taking another undersized DE

- Stephen Hill and janoris Jenkins lasting until top of second.

- Bengals passing on Dre Kirkpatrick to take fellow corner Stephon Gilmore (when have the Bengals cared about character concerns?)

http://thesidelineview.com/nfl-mock-draft-2012

ETA - It's a two-round mock so double your pleasure, double your fun

Brockers is not undersized DE (6'6 313) lol and the Browns all but announced they won't be taking a CB at 4.

The dolphins taking blackmon would be a gutsy call, but not likely to happen. Philbin has stated that his system doesn't go with a "star" WR that needs to be fed (ala green bay with Jennings, Driver, etc). I do not think Weeden is a bad pick vs tannehill in the second, but the truth is with the first round being stand alone now, the phins will get crucified if they pass on a QB.

:goodposting: I'm not huge on Brockers but he's got upside with Washburn pushing him. A young, impact DT is almost as much a need now after the Ryans' trade as anything else on the defensive side of the ball. A haul of Brockers, Kendricks, and David would be a big boost to the defense.

I do like Brockers, but i don't think i like the pick the DT class is very very deep this year i think CB (Asante is as good as gone),Kuechly, and then DT is how i would like to see things pan out but i still would be happy with Brockers or Cox at 15.

I think that would be a great start to the draft for Green Bay.
Its alright...I just don't see TT using another 2nd round pick on a RB.Id rather them sign Grant...trade out of the first and draft Branch and continue on with defensive picks (especially if Collins is a no-go)n

Blackmon not a surprise. Miami can get a QB next year to develop. Someone will reach on Tannehill but it's most likely going to be a mistake in the top 15. Jenkins shouldn't be a 1st rounder and Gilmore probably will go ahead of Kirkpatrick.

I agree Gilmore is a better prospect then Kirkpatrick and Blackmon i could see falling out of the top 10 and i really don't see why he was ever considered to be top 5.

Teddy's got two 4th round comp picks now so he can go after a RB in the 2nd and not feel dirty about it.

What am I missing on Melvin Ingram? He looks like a good prospect to me but nothing about him says top 10.
Anyone want to take a shot at selling Melvin Ingram as being worth the #7?
I've seen a few mocks with Melvin Ingram going to the Jags. Supposedly, they're looking for a pass-rusher and worried about Coples' work ethic.Don't know if Ingram would be better off being a 3-4 LB then 4-3 DE.http://thelandryhat.com/2012/03/24/prospect-outlook/

He has gone RB twice now in the 2nd round.Just not seeing it happening again after using a 2nd round pick last year on an RB.Not with the league being such a passing league. They have bodies already at RB...adding another just seems like an odd move for TT to make...especially with the more pressing needs in the secondary/defense. And even more important if Collins is done.

I'm not sure who this lance guy is....but it's a pretty good effort.

I like and could live with the Dallas picks.

Yes and he has been successful getting them later.

Well...sort of.Starks was a late pick. Success with him is marginal at this point. But no worse than Green and Jackson...so why use a 2nd rounder on a RB?

Texans beat writer, IIRC.
Actually, he is a sports talk host for probably a dozen or years and has a blog in the houston chronicle. His father was an OL coach in the both college and NFL lastly with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Lance is one of the most knowledgable Football/sports talk show hosts in Houston. He is also one of the funniest. His voice impersonations are great, and SEC guy is one of his best charactors. Do a search on you tube using "SEC guy" and you can hear him on his show or calling into some other show around the country.

Once again, Charlie shows that he doesn't know football, or he doesn't proofread his material.Either way, I don't know why someone pays him for what he does.

Of course the move probably makes sense to Charlie, as he selected Dave Ragone with a 3rd round pick the year after he had taken

David Carr with the #1 overall pick, when he had Tony Banks as a veteran back-up. Charlie is one of the main reasons it took the Texans 10

years to make the playoffs. He started with them as an expansion team, and he left them in pretty much the same place 5 years later.

Only way they take a RB round 2 is if he's a bargain...Doug Martin would represent that. However, the Packers have bigger needs and should spend that pick on OLB/DE/CB/OL.

Good point...these days a 2nd RB are guys that may have gone 1st round in years past. Teams just not loading up there as much anymore.

But my counter point...the last "bargain" TT took in the 2nd round was Brian Brohm. He made up for it by taking Flynn in the 7th that year.

Martin at the end of the second round might be the kind of value that the Packers would not pass on. Although I have read nothing about the Packers looking at any RB's, never mind Martin.

I still think this draft is going to be largely BDPA (Best Defensive Player Available) for the Packers. Although I concede they may well slip in a player that can be a center.

Agreed...I think early in the draft will be defense like that. But even by round 3 could see some offensive players coming off the board and depending on trade downs/ups...could see about half of those 4th rounders going to OL.

I'm guessing it was a pre-coin flip call & the picks just need to be swapped.

Lance did pretty well. I just don't see SF going TE or NE going WR late in the first. Other than that...
