Pretty bold for Deion to call him ignorant.......or anyone ignorant for that matter. Sanders might be the definition of ignorant.
I can't believe people are actually sticking up for Deion here. Maybe they're all fanboys, I don't know.
Deion has no business calling anyone ignorant except himself
based on his recent actions dealing with Pacman.
You know he was trying to keep him straight and clean. He even told him he should write a letter to the commissioner to thank him for reinstatement.
I completely understand that. And I have yet to hear Deion say a single negative thing about Pacman, a serial criminal, who he is "mentoring."Yet he verbally attacks Chris Johnson, who by all accounts is a model citizen.
Deion owes Chris Johnson an apology. If he is really a "changed man" then he should realize his attacks crossed the line, and he apologizes to LBJ.
Honestly I don't think Deion owes anyone anything...his comments are no different from yours or mine or the people on this forum. It's his opinion and he is entitled to it that is what he gets paid for....Deion is no saint he should not have to curb his words anymore than anyone else does. He saw something he thought was classless and ignorant and called them on it. It doesn't matter if he hangs with a "criminal" or not he voiced his opinion and said what I and many others were thinking when they saw it. Not sure why he needs apologize for anything.
The reason I think Deion owes LBJ an apology, is to perserve his own credibility. How dumb does Deion look right now? On a dumb scale of 1 - 10, I give Deion a solid 9.5. Deion has had nothing but good things to say about his boy Pacman, and has defended him. And up until now, I have had no issue with Deion mentoring/defending him, despite the fact that Pacman is the posterchild for players who are bad for the league image.
But now, Deion has the odacity to call out Chris Johnson, of all players, for his appearance? Are you ####ing kidding me? Deion won't say anything bad about pacman, yet he attacks LBJ for how he looks at his press conference. Unreal.
If Pacman was in the interview he would have said the same thing. Mentoring Pacman makes Deion ignorant? How is that exactly? Deion is well known to be a mentor to a lot of players in the league. I don't think him trying to mentor and get Pacman to change makes him a bad guy.In fact, I think it's funny that Deion has a bad rap at all. Besides getting arrested for trespassing while fishing (and making a rap album), what has he ever done wrong?
Mentoring pacman doesn't make Deion ignorant. Constantly defending and sticking up for pacman, and then verbally attacking Chris Johnson for his appearance makes Deion look ignorant and, even worse considering his current profession, hypocritical.
Additionally, when you factor in how Deion used to dress and appear when he was LBJ's age, Sanders comes off as a hypocritical buffoon of majestic proportions.
And you know what he grew up...and he knows he was "ignorant" when he did it and analyst's at the time made the same comments when he did it and deservedly so. His thing is making sure people don't do the same dumb and unprofessional things he did.
Oh, give me a break. If Deion was really concerned with LBJ not making the same mistakes he did as you claim, he would of contacted him off the air, instead of attacking him during the broadcast. You make Deion sound like my buddy who was complaining about kids destroying mailboxes in his neighborhood, despite the fact that he regularly played mailbox baseball when he was in highschool.
I think the lesson to be learned here is that Deion made a big mistake trying to mentor Pacman. By doing so he really hamstrung himself as to what he can and cannot say without looking like an idiotic hypocrite like he did last night.
Imagine if Chris Carter "mentored" Troy Williamson on how to catch a football. Imagine that Carter's "mentoring" of Williamson was a complete failure. Now, imagine that Carter defended Williamson's catching ability to everyone, without ever saying anything negative about him. Finally, imagine Carter commenting on the Cowboy's game yesterday and lambasting Terrell Owens for sort of alligator arming that one throw to him. There's no doubt that if this scenario played out just as I've written, Carter would look like a complete buffoon, which is what Deion looks like right now.
