Larry Fitgerald, are you still a believer? (1 Viewer)

good player, crap qb. what would you do? trade him for what you can, or just hold on and accept these 1-3 rec games

Pick up Andre Roberts. It seems Arizona is content to use Fitz as a decoy to keep two db's busy while they look for Roberts & Doucet.

of course you don't trade him or dump him now. His value is at an all time low. If anything, non fitz owners should look to acquire him. His talent alone makes him no worse than a low end wr 1/high end wr2--but the slow start of the season could probably make it possible to get him for far cheaper than that. It's two weeks in the season and the already had one of their qb's get hurt. Of course he's going to have a shaky start under those circumstances.

Roberts caught the same number of passes as Fitz did today. Today's game was an abomination, but also an aberration. Not much if anything has changed from last year so there's no reason to believe he can't put up similar stats as last year as well. A bad day for Fitz last year was what you saw last week, something like 4-5 receptions and 50-60 yards. There's absolutely no way were going to see another 1 catch, 4 yard performance. I consider this to be an outlier. Also, people have largely underestimated NE's defense thus far, which looks to be much improved from last year. There's no point in selling him at his absolute lowest right now. He will have a huge game sooner than later. His production will be volatile, so it'd be best to treat him more like a WR2.I'd definitely step away from the ledge. Although it may seem similar, this isn't as bad as the situation CJ?K owners are dealing with right now.

NE has a history of occasionally shutting down elite players. i remember they did this with gates last year.

fitz isn't going to do much with kolb, but he's still a low end wr1. you can't sell after a 2 point game.

I'm not selling him, but I'll probably let him see my bench for a week or two as I evaluate. Doesn't help that my other WR this week was Marshall...

He will be fine and will put up his typical numbers this year unless he gets injured.

He was my first round pick but I have survived his crappy first two games and am 2-0.

You cant sell him now. Nobody is paying anything near what he could be worth even if he puts up decent numbers for him. You're better off holding until he produces some. Then either sell or put him back in your lineup.

FWIW, I agree with the posts about the Pats taking him away. BB has mentioned in the past that he think Fitz is one of the best WRs in the game - I am sure the plan was to take him away and make the Cards beat them with the rest of their...urmmm..."weapons".

IMO Fitz is a massive buy right now in dynasty. But I'm sure no one's selling. Good NFL players who've been in the league for a long time are almost always owned on good FF teams and those owners know better.

You can NOT sell him right now. I am worried that it wont get any better for him, and I do not agree that he is sure to see the same stats this year as last, but you still cant sell him as you wont get crap for him. I play in a salary cap league where a players auction price is his "salary", so in my league dropping him isnt completely ludicris (as I get all that money back to bid on FAs and if I want I can rebid back on him in a week), but even that is risky as IF he was to turn it around and I didnt get him back (at a cheaper rate) ive just made someone else stronger.

Moral of the story is IF some one is crazy enough to give you something worthwhile (or in my case I could pick up something worthwile) than sure, do it, but id love to hear anyone that had anything that amounted to that at this point...

I am sure Fitz has not thought a second about his stats right now. All he cares about is the Cardinals are 2-0 and they meat the motherblanking Patriots AND THAT IS WHY I have faith that he will see a rise in his stats as we move along. He's a team player and not a cry baby so eventually he will get his.

Fitz could be in for another tough week against Eagles. After that he has some better match-ups.

The faith in Fitz is still there for me but the realistic view of everything else is recognized.

He simply doesn't have a good QB that will challenge the double teams AND they are winning without having to force it to him AND the big difference now vs. when we used to say in the past "despite all this, Fitz will still get his" is that when the Cardinals were a bad team, he could get some garbage-time production down the stretch of the games. But now, with the Cards being a team that is staying in games, teams are playing him as they normally do when the game is tight and he simply isn't getting the targets.

Its been a long time since I even considered benching Fitz but its coming in Week 3, based mostly on the matchup with the Eagles. If he was playing someone else, I would probably leave him in there and hope that the team would focus on getting him the ball more but since its the Eagles, I am going to sit him and actually hope that he does do well. I'll lose the points this week maybe but it will help restore some faith.

If there is a silver lining its that the Cards proved they can beat you even if you take Fitzgerald out of the game. Hopefully other opponents won't be as willing to sell out to stop Fitz going forward.

I'm just happy knowing the Cards HAVE to address the QB situation this off-season and things can only get better. Whether FA, rookie, or both, something has to be done.

Focusing everything on taking Fitz out of the game really worked out well for the Pats this week.
Did the defense let the Cards get the ball inside the 10 yard line on a blocked punt? Did the defense miss a FG to win the game? The defense only allowed 245 yards . . . almost 150 yards fewer than Arizona gave up to the Pats.

Larry Fitgerald, are you still a believer? time to sell? good player, crap qb. what would you do? trade him for what you can, or just hold on and accept these 1-3 rec games
Presumably that is supposed to be FitZgerald (you can edit)but the question is wrong - needs to be refined, because1)Do I believe in Fitzgerald as a great wide receiver? Sure his talent/skill hasn't changed2)Does that mean he is still a WR1 for FF purposes? Hell no - he has a bad qb situation and they have a bad offensive line and Arizona has to do whatever they can to try and win games - unfortunately for FF owners that may not be heavy usage of a double covered Fitzgerald

oops... Warrior hit a nerve :P
The point was, taking Fitz out of the game would have been a bad strategy if the Pats instead gave up a ton of yards and production to someone else. But that didn't happen. The Pats issues this week were on offense and special teams.

Would you Fitz owners consider trading for Nicks, or Nicks + Sweetner?

I talked to the Fitz owner in my league and he doesn't seem into it, but not completely opposed either.

If the Nicks owner offered me Nicks for Fitz straight up I'd jump on it. Fitz > Nicks but...Anyone in Arizona throwing to Fitz <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Eli throwing to Nicks.

Got shot down offering Chris Johnson.
LOL. I'd let Fitz rot on my bench before dealign with that. Don't blame you for trying but HOO BOY. Funny how things change quick, huh? two years ago, that would have been the biggest blockbuster trade in your league probably.

I'd take it any format roght now and believe me, for ME to say that about Fitz probably means I am either the guy who has followed Fitz and the Cards so long that I clearly see when its time to concede OR it means that I'm beaten down byy it all (which is probably a sign that your "typical" fitz owner is ripe for the pickings).

Dynasty leaguers can't be too thrilled with the Cards being 2-0. How are they supposed to draft that franchise QB for Fitzgerald's back nine if they keep winning games? ;)

I'm a Nicks owner and there's no way I'd consider taking Fitz for him right now. If anything it would be Fitz + Sweetner for Nicks, but even then I'd probably say no.

Those saying he'll have a tough matchup against the Eagles musnt have benched him last year when he played the Eagles :(

I'm not doing that again.
