Is it safe to say he is a consistent number 2 wr from here on out? He has a tasty schedule and his last three weeks have been very good.

Evans has strung together a few good games in a row. I dropped him in week 3 and just picked him again, with the hopes that he can fill the void left by Fitz.

My question is this....is the production he is getting coming in garbage time, or is he being targeted consistently? Haven't had the pleasure of seeing the Bills this year.

I forget the exact stats, but a lot of Evans's receptions have come when Buffalo is playing from behind.Which happens to be a reason that I disagree with Guru's prediction on Evans being all over the Lions this week. I'm seeing this as a game where the Bills get a lead early and maintain it. IOW, McGahee = strong start, Evans = weaker, but still a viable #3 or 4.

The first two weeks (vs NE and Miami), the Bills were playing with the lead and were very conservative as a result. Over the last three weeks however, theyve fallen behind early and have been forced to throw the ball.

As long as the Bills DEF continues to give points early in the game, Evans should continue to be productive.

The logic is sound, but the conclusion is wrong. You see, I'm playing against Evans in 2 of my 3 leagues this week. Therefore, I expect him to blow up with 150 yards and 2 TDs.

How about JP? Again, haven't seen him play...but the INT's seem to be going down, and his yardage improving. Is his improved play another good sign for Evans?

I'm starting him this week (Jennings, MJones, and Edwards on bye, Roy injured). I'm down to ARE as my #4 if Roy is out, so it's more a matter of being thin this week than expecting Evans to produce.

In my $$ league, we start 3 WRs.

As of right now, I've got CJohnson, JWalker, and Reg Brown in my rotation..............but finding it very hard to keep LEvans on the bench after this 3 week stretch. But the way JW and RB are playing, I don't think I could bench either of them for Evans.

I guess it's a nice problem to have........

The hardest part about being an Evans owner is knowing when to play him for those two games a year that he goes off.

Everything looks good for this weekend but his line will be like 4-47.

Trying to decide between Evans and Coles this weekend. Both seem like good matchups on paper...however, Coles seems to be slumping while Evans rising.

Evans is the clear #1 on the Bills and at least in the Bears game this past weekend he had a 19 yard catch on the first possession and a 5 yard catch on the second possession and was targeted consistently throughout the game. Yes his TD came in garbage time, but that's life.

Most WRs will have more productive games when the team is trailing...Evans slow start this year was just that, a slow start...on top of that one of the games was against MIA -- a pitiful team -- but pretty good in pass defense (and defense overall).

Evans will have his stinkers but then again so does every WR -- to me is his a good WR2 and a great WR3 from this point forward.

It's a great sign for Evans owners that the Bills have gotten him involved in their short passing game. He'll always be good for the longball but short hits are the bread & butter for consistent FF WRs.

Randle El over Evans? That might be a stretch.
I wrote that wrong, in a hurry. Evans is in, if Roy is out, ARE starts for me.I'm just not expecting a big week from Mr. Evans against the Lions. The game should be closer if Roy plays, which would lead to more passes to Evans (I think)

This is true, Lohsman has attempted signicantly more passes the past 3 weeks. Regardless, Lohsman targets Evans over 1/3 of the time Lohsman att Evans targets WK1 23 5WK2 18 6WK3 38 13WK4 32 9WK5 27 14

Lee Evans is one of the hottest WR in the league right now, and in my mind is a must start.
Maybe not for TDs, but only 5 other WRs have as many targets for the year with most of them coming the last 3 weeks, and his receptions are way up from weeks 1 and 2. Add a high reception %, and I like what I see. TDs will come soon. I actually think he is a great buy low because most people don't think he is doing anything due to his low TD total. Lee is ready to go off.

Could not agree more, if someone has a a chance to get him, do it.

Totally agree eric - I'm an Evans owner in one league and have been extremely happy with his progress after a tough opening two games. My rolly eyes were to Turfpack, who recently acquired Evans for a backup defense (Philly), in what I considered an extremely lopsided trade in his favor, but no one else in the league understood how hot Evans is/was.

I did in my dynasty league... Right after week 2, for cheap, and he's helped me rattle off 3 straight wins after a 0-2 start thanks to all kinds of injuries in the off-season, and through week 2...

I think hes a must start this week. Does everyone else agree?
I think he's a must start most every week unless you are stacked at WR, or can start an RB in his place. I said this after week two, too. He had tons of targets in those early games and was real close to some TDs. Yeah, he'll have a relative stinker of a game, or two, but I really think he'll end up with 90+ receptions.

This thread just made me offer Greg Jennings for him - if anyone cares what is a possible buy low - sell high type of offer for him.

I traded Reggie Williams for Evans last week. The funny part is the other owner made the offer. That is what a buy low/sell high is all about. We're both happy now, but I think I'll be the happiest in the end. (Especially with Matt Jones returning to health and Losman maturing.)

It's time to shine Lee.

I just made a trade because I needed a QB. I hated to give up Evans as I think he will be WR 10 - 15 from here on out. The bills have a nice schedule ahead of them and Losman was looking Evans way on each passing down. I say, get him if you can. Just for giggles, the trade Evans was involved with is below.

I gave up:

Lee Evans

Desmond Clark

Correll Buckhalter

Michael Robinson

Kansas City Defense

for

Phillip Rivers

Eric Parker

Mark Clayton

Vernon Davis

Sebastion Janakowski

Essentially, It was Evans for Rivers

I just traded Thomas Jones for Evans tonight and so far I like the responses i've seen in this thread regarding Evans. I've always thought he was talented, but had QB issues. My only concern, which has been mentioned in this thread, is the potential for the offense to go ultra-conservative when playing with a lead.

Was just offered Evans and Deuce for Fitz. Thoughts?

ETA: Dynasty league

Depending on the size of the league, and your needs, if you have any use for the Deuce, I'd do it.If you're stacked at RB I may not, but for 99% of teams, it's a deal worth taking.

Evans or Derrick Mason this week? I've got Driver and Holt, as well, but Driver is on bye this week and Holt is on bye next week (so is Mason).

Evans is on the wire, so I'd have to drop Mason to get him.

I'm not one to dip into many personal type posts...but doesn't 8-107, 7-90, and 9-94-1 easily answer your question? Evans should not be on anyone's wire.

I'm not one to make many personal type posts, either, so I see what you're saying. I was looking for just that little nudge to get over the hump to pick him up. I'd done it prior to your post. Thanks!Evans is on our wire because we only have 5 bench spots and he was dropped after his Week 2 disappointment. With the week 6 and week 7 bye weeks, it looks like most of the teams in my league are scrambling for RB's, TE's (seems everyone is smart enough to only carry one), K's and defenses (again, everyone but 2 teams are only carrying one). Looks like Evans just slipped through the cracks. And, these guys aren't idiots...this is a 10 team, 2 player keeper, decent money and competitive. Weird things happen, though, with small benches. Now, should Derrick Mason be on the waiver wire...he's sitting there now.

In a 10-team 5-bench league, it's possible. I'd have to say Mason would probably be an improvement over some rostered player on one of the other nine teams though. You got a gem there with Evans.

He was on my ww also. I dropped him after week 2 and no one grabbed him. Luckily I was able to get him back. I had dropped him for Troy Williamson, and now have reversed that move.

I have had Evans since he came into the league and I think he's got the hands, routes and speed to be fantastic once Losman settles in a bit. That said, I have to choose between Evans, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith and Marqes Colston (start three)....tough choice but I guess I have to sit Colston this week (even though he's higher on certain lists). I think Evans goes off this week....Chad will probaby go 2 for 30.
