not really seeing it. Thus far in the preseason - no one has been able to do much. add the fact that there's three guys battling for one spot. Not that interested but Leon is the one going really late so you could take a flyer & cut bait after a week or two.the hype is nowhere to be found this year but the opportunity is still there.Anybody else have their eye on this guy in the late rounds?
There is no value in the hawks backfield.Think I agree. What's your take on Mike Williams? think he could pan out at a WR# 3<-------------

I agree. you like Mike Williams as a WR# 3
I always thought he was a running back.Hjelle9 said:Justin Forsett, clown.
I watched someone who started out on fire in the first 5 rounds last night take Washington at 8.01 last night and bring his team back to reality a little.Leon has the most talent of any rb on the seahawks. The coaching staff will realize this soon enough and I expect Leon owners to be rewarded handsomely.
Well, they only gave a 5th rounder for him. With the risk involved( considering the scope of his injury), it didn't really indicate a lack of faith in the returning rb corps.situations like this I sometimes try to pretend the injury never happened and just take a look at the current skill set and the situation....
1. skills: I don't think there is any denying that he has at least as good, if not a better skill set then many comparable RB's out there.....dude still has quicks and can take any play to the house....to me it looks like he is recovered, so that would be my mentality when drafting him....
2. situation: could be better, could be worse....in this day and age of RBBC he actually may have a better situation than most....lSEA went after him, even with the injury, so that tells you right away how they feel about Jones and Forsett....[/bl]there were other RB's SEA could have gone after (Lynch, Westbrook,etc)....I don't even really factor Jones into this equation, which may be a mistake....so really his only comp for touches is Forsett.....once the regular season starts, I could see Leon getting a bulk of the work and becoming one of those real good stories.....dude works hard and you can throw in some cliches too like having something to prove and playing with a little chip on his shoulder,etc.....but bottom line some of those things don't matter as much as the offensive line or the passsing game......but when looking for production, I can see him being a pretty fairly consistent fantasy scorer as I think he is going to get a bunch of touches.....he can make plays....comparing this guy with other guys in questionable RBBC's (Huggins, Caddy, Slatons, Jacobs, Taylor, D. Brown, Maroney, etc)....I think you could do worse and I think the guy that gets him will get value....
Fixed. There is no value in the hawks backfield.

Fred Jackson and Jammal Charles last year both fit that bill, but there were some extenuating circumstances there. It certainly is very rare: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/tiny/G0uuZPete Carrol just stated that Leon Washington will be the primary kick returner now that Josh Wilson has been traded to the Ravens.
I just cannot see a team using its #1 runningback as a Kick Returner. The lead-back ball is in Forsetts court.
9/1 The trade of CB Josh Wilson also means the Seahawks are without last year's best kick-returner. Pete Carroll said that RB Leon Washington, who excelled as a kick-returner with the Jets, will fill that role.
I got him at 10.10 tonight behind Rice and D.WilliamsI watched someone who started out on fire in the first 5 rounds last night take Washington at 8.01 last night and bring his team back to reality a little.Leon has the most talent of any rb on the seahawks. bones heal nearly perfectly. they dont limit range of motion or flexibility regardless. ligaments are the opposite. the only issue is that his long layoff would cause him to lose explosiveness. his injury, while ugly looking, is not near as bad as a torn acl, patella, achilles, certain meniscus problems.I think Leon is awesome but that was one of the five most gruesome football injuries I have seen (Napoleon McCallum being #1).
did not dressNo touches in tonights game....Guess he didnt dressAny info is appriciated
Can we read into this?Is he the starter, or was it for rest? Thanks for the fast responsedid not dressNo touches in tonights game....Guess he didnt dressAny info is appriciated
Forsett returned kicks last night. A very bad sign for him.Forsett, fools.
A very bad sign for who? Leon or Forsett? Did Leon even dress for the game last night? Ant seattle homers to chime in?Forsett returned kicks last night. A very bad sign for him.Forsett, fools.
he started the important 3rd game and sat the meaningless 4th game. I'd say that he's the "starter" now but what that exactly means no one knows. Go with the better talent when push comes to shove which is Washington. Can we read into this?Is he the starter, or was it for rest? Thanks for the fast responsedid not dressNo touches in tonights game....Guess he didnt dressAny info is appriciated
No we're not but I understand your point. I couldn't tell you who is the better back in SEA. but if Leon W. can get 12 touches a game he represents good value at his ADP.There's definitely alot of speculation about who the starting Seattle RB is. Having said that, I looked at the box score in last night's final preseason game. None of the offensive first string players were in the game. I'm going to conclude that Washington is going to get first dibs on the starting role. To me the writing is on the wall. If it was Forsett then he would not have played and Washington would have been in there to audition the change of pace role with Julius Jones. Coach Carroll isn't declaring one as he wants the RBs to stay hungry.
However, temper your expectations. We are looking at a first year NFL coach. The trend in the NFL is RBBC. I think in order for Washington to put up solid fantasy stats this year, Forsett will have to be solid and vice versa.
donePicked up Leon in the 14th round but considering dropping him for the Huggins hype train...

I'm not sure why you'd want the backup RB in TB over a RB that could be the opening day starter. Neither situation is particularly sexy but I think the Huggins hype train is getting a little carried away.donePicked up Leon in the 14th round but considering dropping him for the Huggins hype train...![]()
I'd rather have Leon. I kinda like Huggins but think Leon will get every chance to get a big slice of the RBBC in Seattle.I'm not sure why you'd want the backup RB in TB over a RB that could be the opening day starter. I just did the opposite...I dropped Huggins for Washington. I figured at best, Huggins is Washington.
Leon has proven to be a weapon. Huggins has proven to be better than Ward.
The way I see it, both Forsett and Leon will see playing time. I wanted to avoid this mess all together on draft day. Although, Leon was the best player available in the 14th round of my 14 team league. I drafted him thinking he would more than likely be a back up. After starting game 3 of the preseason and not playing at all game 4, I am thinking he may be named the starter. If that happens, he may be fantasy gold in this PPR and return yardage league as my flex! Any Seattle homers care to chime in. I am sure we will know as early as Monday if he is named the starter just curious what others think??QUEZILLA said:Pete Carrol has a history of being a passing coach so wouldn't a guy like Leon Washington have a ton of upside in a PPR?
