Lesean McCoy? How concerned are we? (2 Viewers)

To be honest I doubt it, but if there was thats all it showed if he is out there stretching I presume.
You dont let the franchise rush back for a week 7 game against Miami with a bigger game next week. Even if this game has a lot of meaning.
You do realize this is the Buffalo Bills and Rex Ryan, yes?

I ask because I don't recall seeing any word of an MRI, which is what made me incredibly skeptical about the four week absence claim. Usually anything over a couple of weeks would be a medical opinion, not a journalistic one.
I seem to recall an MRI. It's where they got the mild-moderate strain info from IIRC.

This has to be one of the most perfect thread titles of all time, along with "How do you feel about Cutler now?"

We need a daily concern meter. with 1 being little concern and 10 being extremely concerned.

Right now its on about a 7 out of 10 for me, down from a 9 on Wednesday. LOL

The Bills are my team. I have heard no mentioning of any MRI on McCoy
I can't recall a time where so many speculative predictions / timelines / status predictions were made based on a guy leaving practice with a tweaked hammy.

its all over the map. Would anyone be surprised if this turned out to be a mountain out of a molehill?  Is Rex Ryan historically good about providing accurate injury updates?  Is Shady for that matter?

mind boggling.

Ha!

my concern-o-meter is at 3.5-4 based on lack of MRI.

On my give-a-F-o-meter the needle has barely wiggled. ;)

assuming it remains a GTD and McCoy is listed as active Sunday morning, do you still start Gillislee thinking McCoy will be on a snap count (ala Gronk or JC earlier this season) or potentially suffer a set back during the game?  in other words, do you gamble that Gillislee will still have opportunity (a good number of touches) even if McCoy is listed as active on Sunday?

According to WKBW Buffalo's Joe Buscaglia, "the uncle of a person with direct-knowledge of McCoy's hamstring injury" told him that McCoy was seen "walking down a flight of stairs with a subtle hitch" and is "in danger of being deported."
It doesn't sound like he is anywhere near full strength, and the Bills could presumably cut McCoy if they don't like what they see from him during pregame warm-ups. We'll continue to monitor the situation.

I have no choice in a 2 flex start 10 league

I plan on starting Gillislee. If the Bills can get up early, they're going to give the rock to Buffalo Gill to grind it out. Regardless I think McCoy, at best, is on a pitch count.

The answer is would be the same if you had you ask whether or not a man will cheat on his wife/girlfriend

No better way to ruin your season that to keep trying to come back early from a hamstring injury, even a grade 1.  Becomes a grade 2 real quick that way

   :lmao:

Sounds like the line from Ferris Burller.

"Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night."

"...lots of bad Hombres"

I'm in a bad spot, forced to go with Bilal, if not starting Gillislee. I may actually start Gillislee regardless of shady status :o(

Starting Gilly over McCoy this week, I have both.  Gilly has a pretty high floor recently even as a straight up backup.  McCoy's potential downside is 0 points... even if he is active.

The GTD report isn't surprising. Coaches don't want to tip their hand, even if everyone knows they are holding 7/2 off suit, and they know that everyone knows. They'll still try to spin it to "keep the other team guessing".

So while I don't have full faith in Anderson's report about him being out a few weeks, I would be very surprised if he plays this weekend.
agreed. Especially with a division match up this week

Both are divisional games, I'd argue the Miami game is bigger because I don't see them beating the Pats twice even with the game in Buffalo.

Bills will be lucky to stay within 20 points, if you didn't notice they will not have their 3rd string rookie QB playing next week.
Oh I noticed, thanks.    Also you left out "injured".

Doesnt mean I wouldn't still enjoy it. I think I'd enjoy it even more.

I'm in the exact same spot and also strongly considering starting Gillislee regardless.
I'm using him in 2 DFS lineups - the upside is just too high and his price too low. Dolphins allowing like 120 ypg? Sign me up.  If shady shows up I might switch him out but for now that's my play!

I put him in a Thursday DFS lineup so I'm stuck no matter what there. Right now I have him in my best season-long lineup and a couple other DFS lineups depending on Shady's status tomorrow. May swap him out if Shady plays but that will depend on reports. I really will be surprised if Shady plays. Given his history and the Patriots coming up next week the smart move really would be to sit him and do everything possible to try and get him healthy for next week rather than risk him making this injury worse and knocking him out for several games and possibly really messing up their season. This is the kind of decision that could sink Rex as the team's head coach. He needs to be smart about this.

But being smart hasn't always been Rex's best attribute so ...

McCoy travelling with team. He will play, relax. He just wants attention and more drama. He is on the top of my list for #1 ranked drama queen in the NFL.

His hammy's have always been a major issue.  Trust me, it isn't drama!! I wouldn't trust him even if he did play. ...If he plays it will be for a few plays and the hammy will knock him out of the game!

I'm planning on using Gillislee in my flex as a 3rd RB (I have CJ and D Murray) so I'm not too anxious.  I don't wish injuries on anyone but it would be fun to see him get a start - especially v MIA.

So if he plays, with a "limited" workload, the real questions for McCoy and Gillislee owners is who do you play?  I could see all of the below scenarios playing out.

  1. McCoy plays and gets 70% of the work and ends up with a good day
  2. McCoy truly plays a "limited" almost emergency role and gets 30 yards total
  3. McCoy plays and reinsures himself
2 of the 3 scenarios point to Gillislee being the smarter play but that doesn't mean that's what will happen

2 leagues with McCoy.

1...ppr, im rolling with Jacquizz Ridgers iver McCoy.

2 ..standard...i have not decided.  Probably rolling with Gillislee. Already took a big hit starting Meredith.  Gill may be the safer play.

Don't own McCoy but keeping Gillislee on my bench in favor of Blount and Ajayi.

Had I benched Cam Meredith, like I should have, I would have Gillislee as my flex over Det D.Washington, Yeldon & N.O. M.Thomas.

Even if he is a DNP?
Yeah because I don't think he's going to miss multiple weeks like she reported. He practiced Friday, is traveling with the team this week and could end up playing tomorrow. Even if he sits this week it sure would appear he could play in Week 8. Could she still end up being correct? Yeah it's still possible but all the evidence we have said her first report indicates that she swung and missed rather badly with it.

All reporters will have reports that end up being wrong for a variety of reasons and it's not always an indication their reports were inaccurate. But to report that he was going to miss multiple weeks and then have him show up at practice the very next day sure is a pretty big miss in my opinion, especially when another highly-respected reporter directly contradicted her report within the hour. Rapoport's report definitely is the one looking far more trustworthy as the week has gone on.
