Might not be able to now!And I'm in a handcuff cold war with the guy who has Karlos. He's wanted David Johnson from me forever... might finally have to cave.Left Thursday's practice with tightness in his hamstring
He has a hamstring injury and left practice on Thursday. That's one reason.I'm not concerned. Just another coach resting McCoy and/or trying to make another coach prepare for a game both with and without McCoy. DeAngelo Williams did well vs Patriots last week. No reason to think McCoy can't do something similar.
I sure hope soSo Williams taking over at #1 in the next 2-3 weeks?
Seems like itSo Williams taking over at #1 in the next 2-3 weeks?
Except what does he do when he even does get touches or is on the field? Its fine that they are saving him but does him getting more carries equate to him magically getting better?Yes Williams was good. But BUF is using McCoy strategically so as to save him for games where they need him. BUF got up on MIA early and from what I saw only used McCoy on third downs and goal line situations. Smart of them to save him for games and situations in the future where he can do the most good. Not worried,,,,yet.
Yeah, I'm in agreement with this and don't really buy the "saving him" talk. And to be clear, I only play in one league and it's a dynasty league where I've had McCoy for his entire career, rookie year to the present, and I don't have Williams. McCoy had 15 for 89 last week so I'm not panicking. He had some nice games last year as well, but it's starting to feel like it's been a very long time since he had a stretch of great games and the possibility that the decline is well-underway has to be considered at some point.Except what does he do when he even does get touches or is on the field? yeah that would be hard to swallow. then again, he also wants to win. but that contract does make it harder to sit him.Reason Rex protecting Shady by saying, "LeSean McCoy playing on 'one and a half legs" is... 3/8/2015: Signed a five-year, $40 million contract. The deal contains $26.05 million guaranteed, including a $13.125 million signing bonus. Rex will keep starting him.
LeSean McCoy - RB - Bills
Bills coach Rex Ryan conceded in a radio interview Wednesday that LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is almost certainly out for Week 4.
Karlos Williams will be a hot commodity in DFS this week, and should be treated as a borderline RB1 in season-long leagues. "I’m telling everybody, ‘Oh yeah, he’s got a great chance,’ but we all know he doesn’t," Rex said of McCoy's status. If Williams capitalizes on his opportunity against the Giants, he could continue to eat heavily into McCoy's rest-of-season workload.

All concerns now null and void. With Tyrod Taylor leading the way, Shady is a lock for 375 touches!!

Karlos was proving a threat before McCoy was injured. At this point I think it's his job to lose (once he's back from concussion).shadyridr said:Im very happy he is out and healing. I dont think Karlos proves a threat when McCoy comes back

McCoy hasn't been a good RB for a year and a half. He lost 'it' long ago and anyone who thinks he'll revert back to 2013 form are waaaaaay behind the curve.
Disagree. You see it every year when a fresh back comes in mid season and proves extremely valuable. McCoy will be very rested and healthy after their bye week. He could help win championships when he's back.bostonfred said:This guy's going to win people championships when he comes back.![]()
Agree on Karlos being a potential threat, strongly disagree that McCoy hasnt been good for a year and a half or "lost it long ago."Karlos was proving a threat before McCoy was injured. you need to factor in how good those teams are. In most leagues about 50% of teams make the playoffs.... teams whose #1 or maybe #2 rbs are missing the first 8 weeks, are at a disadvantage. I'm in no way able to know how good the teams are, and maybe they got some great RB values later and are doing well, but losing a high pick like mccoy for half of the fantasy season hurts a team and gives them a lower then 50% shot at making playoffs.Disagree. I'm sure the truth, like many things, lies somewhere in between. He won't be as bad as some people think, but he won't be a total beast and dominant like others claim. Karlos will cut into his carries, but he still has high rb2 production. If mccoy owners can make it to the playoffs he may help, but he's not going to be a strong RB1 once he returns.Agree on Karlos being a potential threat, strongly disagree that McCoy hasnt been good for a year and a half or "lost it long ago."Karlos was proving a threat before McCoy was injured. He started off slow, like the whole Eagles running game did last year and this, but still averaged 4.6 ypc over his final 12 games and finished 3rd in the league in rushing last year. He's 27.
McCoy has plenty of good football left in him.
I'm just disputing the notion that McCoy is "done" or "lost 'it' long ago." Dont think thats the case at all.I'm sure the truth, like many things, lies somewhere in between. Ah yes, we are talking 2 different conversations then. There are other factors that go into FF production and being a strong RB1 for those purposes. So I'd tend to agree with the gist of your post.
Even if Karlos comes out and is as amazing as his owners on this board think he is, I think they just use both. Ryan would love to have 2 good backs and rotate them.If Karlos does emerge as the better RB, what are Buffalo's options wrt McCoy's contract? Or is McCoy embedded in the team because he's got a pretty fat contract and there's not much way out of it?
