Lesean McCoy? How concerned are we? (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld:

Bills coach Rex Ryan now says he expects LeSean McCoy (shoulder) to be 100 percent for Thursday's game against the Jets.

Ryan first professed total ignorance of Shady's status before then saying he expected him to play, but possibly in a limited role. Now McCoy is apparently 100 percent. His "limited" practice on Tuesday suggests otherwise. It's clear McCoy will be active against the Jets, but he could cede a ton of touches to Karlos Williams. He can't be trusted as more than an RB2 against a stingy defense.

This seems like a rough call for guys that own both Karlos and McCoy. I almost wish he was sitting. Makes the call easier.

Karlos continues to do a lot with few touches.

Rodak going to Rodak. He sucks.

Looked like the guy we remember fondly yesterday.

Here's to hopefully peaking at the right time (and send the recipe to CJ Anderson, Jeremy Hill, and a low-cal version of the recipe to Eddie Lacy).

What's our boy gonna do tonight? Can he get it going against the Pats?

18 for 88 rushing with 1 TD

6 receptions for 56 with another TD

Would love to see an instant classic Shady performance.e Not just for my FF enjoyment but because I think if the Bills could really challenge the Patriots or beat them tonight, it really opens up the door in the AFC.

In the NFC, I am already anticipating the Cardinals/Panthers playoff game and would be happy with either representing the NFC, given how they are playing.

As long as he stays healthy. Jamaal/Shark/Dion Lewis/etc.

He has looked like his old self the past couple weeks. Please survive the night Shady!

Well done by Shady buyers this season.

I had him written off and even passed on a cheap mid-season trade. Wishing I was an owner at this point.

:hifive:

I just checked in my league, and among active RBs he is 5th overall in average per game.

And to think I almost sold him and Beckham Jr for Allen Robinson and Murray at the deadline

Lead me to the championship shady! I almost wish I had a game this week for his revenge game (Bye)

Holy crap. McCoy is coming off looking like a woman scorned.Chip really hurt his feelings when he trades him. Lol. It's like he's trying to show the world why Chip wouldn't want him around.

Mccoy was a potential hall of fame player with Andy Reid. Then Kelly came in, changed the offense completely, tried to get Mccoy to change his running style completely around, didn't throw to him or use him in the goal line and gave his opportunities to guys like Chris Polk, who can't beat out Alfred blue, and traded him in the offseason. I don't blame him at all for hating chip. I don't think it's the wisest media strategy, but I've never really had a problem with football players saying dumb things.

Why would McCoy want to shake Chip's hand? Chip traded him because he didn't like him, lied about the motivations behind the trade, and has been fake about the whole thing.

If you don't think that whole thing wasn't personal, you're nuts. Of course McCoy has a chip on his shoulder. He's not buddies with Chip. Heck, half of Chip's current team hates him and all the rumors are that he treats his players like garbage. Why in the world would Shady want to go shake that guy's hand?

It's not like LeSean was the one that brought it up either. The Philly reporters asked him if he would shake Chip's hand, Shady kind of danced around it a touch, and the Philly reporters kept hammering it.

Seems like a stupid thing to beat Shady up for. He doesn't like the guy, he has a decent reason for not liking the guy, and he doesn't want to shake his hand. Big deal.

You sure about that? Chips first year, shady had over 2,100 yards and 11 TDs with 50+ catches. Check your facts-Chip took Shady to another level. He bounced him for having a bad attitude, which shady is clearly proving he has with his continual #####ing. In retrospect I wish he didn't trade him but to say that chip came in here and didn't use him effectively is absurd.

You would think he had a PR guy or something that would advise him not to act so classless. I'm sure Chip hates him too but he says the right things. He's probably on a better team, why does he act like such a baby?

Yeah but most adults and professionals try not to show how hurt they are. I doubt Kiko Alonso feels he was disrespected by the Bills. I think Shay is showing exactly why Chip didn't want him around.

Sorry, but this is all wrong. What lie did Chip say about the trade? How has he been fake about it? whether you choose to believe it or not, there WERE very major cap ramifications by bouncing Shady. I'm sure that there were also issues with his attitude-its clear to me that he is immature. Half of Chip's team hates him? Who exactly? The "rumors" about him treating his players like garbage came from Shady-malcontent, Boykin-out of the league and Cary Williams-out of the league. Is it possible that they were just butt hurt for being shown the door and wanted to throw some darts on the way out? He obviously made the right calls with the DB's.

And you're wrong about Shady not being the one that brought it up. He insinuated some horrible, can't-take-that-back things about Chip being a racist and has ducked it ever since. He should get grilled for those comments until he mans up and speaks to what his real motivations were, otherwise its sour grapes and he will continue to look like the ##### that he is. You can't make an accusation like that and then 'dance-around it a touch'.

Its not a big deal for a regular player to come back and want to handle his business and not get chummy with the coach that clipped him. It is a big deal when you have a guy like McCoy, who can't keep his mouth shut, throwing gasoline on the fire.

And FYI, the tough-guy sound bites like, "Chip can't shake ####, can't say ####', came from your local media, not Philly.

Cap ramification argument is false. McCoy was willing to restructure. No matter how you slice if, and as much as people (myself included) thought Chip was a genius for getting a better non-dancing RB and this Kiko "see ball--tackle ball" Alonso, we were DEAD WRONG. McCoy is still one of the three most gifted backs in the league. And he would have worked to stay here.

McCoy was willing to restructure? According to whom? McCoy, post trade? He was coming off of back to back years of serious production, why would he restructure? More to the point, no way would it be enough to free up the amount trading him did. And more to the point, Chip either didn't like his attitude, didn't like the way he danced behind the line or both. Was it the right move, obviously not. But thats not really the point to what is being discussed. McCoy called Chip a racist and has dodged questions about it since. He's a punk. A very talented punk, but a punk nonetheless.

And it hurts to say, because he was my favorite eagle, post Dawkins-Westy era.

He said he would restructure but not take a paycut.....he needed a paycut.

Actually, Chip said that they contacted Shady's agent to talk about redoing his deal but that McCoy wouldn't do it so they had to trade him.

But that was a flat out lie. Chip never contacted McCoy or his agent. LeSean has said be would have restructured his contract if asked.

Chip has also flat out lied about how the whole Demarco Murray conversation with Lurie went down.

And the players don't hate him? Could have fooled me. Desean, Cary Williams, McCoy, Mathis, Peters making multiple comments making it clear he doesn't like Chip, Maxwell criticizing the way Chip does things, Murray. And there have been a ton of annonymous comments being reported by the media about how Chip won't even talk to them passing them in the hallways, is way too controlling, etc.

Again, why should Shady shake the guy's hand? I don't go around being buddy buddy with people I don't like.

Sure seems like Eagles fans are desperately trying to cling to some argument for why the Eagles didn't get the raw end of that trade. Everyone in Philly was quick to beat their chests about how stupid Buffalo was and how great of a trade it was for Philly. Now, Shady is a top 5 RB while Kiko has been a massive liability and the Eagles still owe $13M guaranteed to a RB who looks like a square peg in a round hole. Remember how Murray was the ideal RB for Chip's system and LeSean was a washed up guy who killed the Eagles with all of his "dancing"? Weird that the Eagles lead the league in negative rushing yards while Shady is busy tearing up some of the hottest defenses in the league.

Chip has never said that he contacted Shady's agent, he refused to negotiate, so he was forced to trade him. He said he has called McCoy twice since the trade, but Shady won't take his calls. Shady confirmed this.

How did Chip flat out lie about the Demarco/Lurie conversation? He confirmed that they sat next to each other on the plane back from NE, which has been confirmed as well. You're making a lot of stuff up here.

So, the players that you are relaying on for a glimpse into how the team hates Chip are: Desean-a me first guy that Chip cut; Cary Williams-a guy that preferred shopping for sconces instead of attending team workouts, that Chip Cut; McCoy-enough said; Mathis-never said a bad word about Chip, so you're wrong there; Peters-never said a bad word about Chip, wrong again; Maxwell-not sure I've ever heard him saying anything, nor Murray for that matter, other than rumored reports that shockingly he wants the ball more.

There have absolutely not been a ton of anonymous quotes that Chip won't talk to guys in the hallway or that he is way too controlling. There was one sourced quote by Brandon Boykin alluding to Chip not relating to all the players. Thats all. One player.

It should be noted by the way, that all the guys Chip jettisoned: Shady, Desean, Foles, Mathis, Herremans, Williams, Boykin, have all sucked with exception of Shady. Half the guys either don't start for an NFL team or aren't even on an NFL team, one year later.

No one is claiming they got a better or worse end of the deal-I think in the grand scheme of things, both sides got what they wanted out of it. I was sad to see Shady go as he was one of my Favorite Eagles, but he's proven to be quite an ###, IMO.

And please, Shady is tearing up some of the hottest defenses in the league? He didn't rush for 100 yards until week 9 bro.

Stop making #### up based on some misplaced Chip hate.

Buffalo hasn't done much right since the Kelly/Thomas/Reed days so they want to feel really good about this trade. McCoy has been out of the lineup more than he's been in it. Just like Alonso. As of now, neither side can claim a steal. Frankly, although McCoy was exciting to watch, seeing what a self-centered, whiny little baby he is, I can see why Chip wanted him out of there.

I think this is exactly right. All this Is at this present times is the Eagles fan base realizing that they are in a lost season and their run game has been a bitter disappointment and they now have to go up against Shady who is simply doing what he has always done when healthy.

It is going to leave a very BITTER taste in their mouth if Shady shows them up this week and especially if the Eagles lose.

I recall when this deal went down, A LOT of people crowing about how terrible this was for the Bills and for Shady (ff wise). For some people, it's hard to be wrong and own it.

Out more than in? He missed two games. Wow. a RB misses two games...unheard of.

THe Bills can absolutely claim a steal because their team got better from it. Alonso is quickly going down the "always banged up and can't get on the field" path and McCoy is restating why he is simply one of the best backs in the league.

The only reason Chip wanted him out of there that is "easy to see" is that Chip's ego writes checks that Chip's win totals can't cash. Other than that there is no reason. There is no "shady is whiny" fact to draw upon. McCoy wasn't a malcontent when he was on the Eagles. You didn't hear constant stories of him "whining". He played. He played hurt. he played damned good. Can't ask more than that.

You're wrong so many times. First, Chip DID claim that they reached out to Shady's side and that Shady wouldn't negotiate. That was a lie.

Chip said that Murray and Lurie just happened to be sitting next to each other on the plane. That was a lie. Murray was somewhere else and intentionally went and sat next to Lurie.

Peters said that he plays for Lurie, not for a coach. That's a pretty hard indirect shot at Chip.

Mathis was very upset and treated like garbage.

Maxwell started complaining to the media about how Chip does film review.

And if anyone thinks that Kiko and McCoy have been equally effective, well, I guess enjoy your green colored glasses.
