Lions-Bucs trade rumor (1 Viewer)

Deranged Hermit

Not cool & Pissed
My buddy works for ESPN radio and just saw this cross their wire:

The Lions are considering a trade offer from the Buccaneers.

In exchange for the Lions' No. 2 pick, the Buccaneers will give up pick No. 4 overall and also give the Lions Tampa Bay's two second-round picks (Nos. 35 and 64).

The Buccaneers and Lions also have discussed another trade scenario: The Lions would draft WR Calvin Johnson, if he isn't selected No. 1 by the Raiders. The Buccaneers would take DE Gaines Adams of Clemson. The Buccaneers then would send Adams, along with disgruntled DB Brian Kelly and perhaps another draft pick for Johnson.

God, I'd hate to see them trade both their 2s for this guy. They have so many damn needs to fill. It's not like drafting CJ is going to cart them off to the Super Bowl next year.

From the looks of all the rumors...who ever the Lions trade out of that spot with...if they do they will be getting the best of the deal.

I mean, seriously...just take Joe Thomas and be done with it. He'll have as much impact on moving the offense as CJ will. It's ridiculous.

The second senario should be acceptable to Bucs fan though, right? 1.4, Kelly and maybe their 2nd second rounder?

ehhhh.... not quite what I heard on ESPN. The way I heard Sal report it on camera was that the Lions WANTED that deal involving the 2-second rounders, but that Tampa was balking.classic pre-draft hysteria. love it.

OK, this is exceptional:

http://www.pewterreport.com/articles/view/2975

PewterReport.com is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to trade their No.. 4 overall draft pick and LBs Ryan Nece and Antoine Cash, DT Jon Bradley and DB Blue Adams to the Detroit Lions in exchange for the No. 2 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.

It is believed the Bucs plan to select Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson.

That sounds so absurd, I am concerned it's a fake web page, designed to look like the Pewter Report, a well-respected site.

And then have Philip Buchanon manning the corner position?
Juran Bolden down?
usually.

This would be a horrid idea!!!!

We need LOTS of young help and 4 picks in the top 68 is a blessing.

Bucs GM Allen did say something interesting in his press conference the other day when he was talking about how the Bucs have the most personnel in the league under contract right now and that a bunch of moves would have to be made before the draft. Maybe there is something to the 4 players going to the Lions!!!
