Lions players file grievance (1 Viewer)

:lmao: CP. I gave you a call out in the Email Update tonight. Funny stuff.

Did change 'hoes' to 'womens" as I don't have time to deal the emails I'd get.

Wow. I'm truly flattered. Thanks!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
bull ####...you LIVE for this kinda stuff you big fat furry ####!sit around on a big cushy sofa, scratching and sniffing all day, swilling Bud Lights and dreaming "what can I come up with that'll get me in Joe's email updates tonight?"

oh...and the Lions?

a few more practices like the one they got their asses yanked back on the field and maybe we see them play in January in the not too distant future!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
:goodposting: :lmao: :goodposting:

So, they basically have May 8th and 9th off?........gutless, punks

What would be interesting is IF a small select few players actually showed up (on their own, of course) to work out, etc..........

Here's a question:  Under the terms of the CBA, could the Lions still have a "voluntary" practice? (or afternoon tea session)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I would love to see the "rats" called out, Dre Bly didn't have a problem pointing the finger at Joey last year blaming him for Mooch being fired. The players that are crying are clearly not making "improvement" a priority, these players need to be made an example. As far as the afternoon tea session, I believe Marinelli sent a memo to Charles Rogers letting him know his services will no longer be needed to set the tables.

Riddle of the day: Charles Rogers slips and falls while serving tea in the Lions' finest china. Which of the two breaks into more pieces, Charles or the fine china?

According to sources close to the situation, the Detroit Lions will lose two Organized Team Activities practices during the off-season because they were in violation of minicamp rules. A couple of Lions players filed the grievance against head coach Rod Marinelli because they believed the minicamp practices were too physical.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This is pretty common when a coach comes in and sees a loser\quiter mentality. Happend with Coughlin in New York, Denny Green in Arizona and will continue to happen in the future. In the end, the head coach sacrifices two practice days to send a clear message to the players; be prepared to work!

Exerpts from the official grievance filed:

It was way too physical. He made us run and stretch and tackle and stuff.  We should only have to do that stuff if there's an incentive in the contract for it.  Our contracts say we get incentives to attend mini camp, not actually do anything. We had to sit in a boring classroon with that nutcase Martz ranting about knowing the plays.  Dude, our talent is enough to get us by.  We don't need to know his goofy plays that well.  And because of all the classroon time, we barely had any time to play our Madden games or for our hoes.He hurt our feelings when Coach Marinelli said it didn't matter what round we were drafted in, we have to 'earn' our spots on the roster.  EARN??!!  Who does this guy think he is?  That's mental abuse.  We're elite talents.  Our agents say so.  Who does this new coach think he is???Oh, and that teacher's pet Scottie Vines kept snickering at us.  Punk. Therefore, we hereby file this grievance.Signed, Mike "Fat" WilliamsCharles "Lazy" RogersKevin "Stupid" Jones<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Since satire is alive and well here, can I skewer this sight and you, Joe, in a similar mock letter like this? Dear potential FBG member:

We're idiots and too lazy to have real jobs. Come let us take your money so we dont' have to work.

Signed,

Joe

Hey, now THAT's funny.

But I highly suspect I'll be banned and this message deleted in under five minutes.

But until then, here's a :lmao: on me. Figured you like the comedy here, Joe, as your good at dishing it out.

Hey Captain Blowhard. If FBG's is so bad then...why are you here?

That says more about you than anyone else here.

I thought my post was funny. I too have a sense of humor. My hunch? Joe doesn't--unless it fits he's preordained world of humor: anything can be made fun of and anything's game as far as a cheap shot--except him and FBG, of course.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Most comedians couldn't make a living if they weren't irreverent and satirical, and most anything that is funny will offend someone if the audience is wide enough. I'm sorry that my silly little post offended you or others. Those in the public eye, whether it be in the world at large or in some specific little niche like Footballguys, learn to have a much thicker skin than you are giving Joe credit for. Though you used my satirical post as an excuse to take a shot at Footballguys for being a pay site, I'm pretty sure you've overestimated your effect and underestimated your target. The owners of Footballguys have seen comments like yours, in one form or another, many times already. It goes with the territory.

Uhhhhmmm...yeah. It's really not that funny. Nice try I guess. (And no, I'm not a FBG lover, in fact I don't subscribe. It just really wasn't that funny)
