I'm a die-hard Vikes fan, and the following is completely sincere.
If the Vikings are out of it by mid-season, I will be rooting for the Lions to win the division. I HATE GB. I HATE CHI. I don't like Detroit, but with the years of poor management, wasted 1st round picks, and losing so many seasons, I really want this team to do well. I will root for them in all but the Vikes games, or unless the Vikes are relevant (not holding my breath).

I was pissed the Lions didn't pull a Belichick and keep Stafford in, running up the score...he would've thrown another TD easily.
But I can see why you wouldn't want to risk your starters, especially guys like Stafford and Calvin who have been injured before.

Considering Stafford's last couple years, Im fine with it. Although 1 more 7yd pass to Burleson wouldve been a nice 6 point play for me.I think Ive found my 2nd favorite team to root for

Lost in a lot of the talk with Detroit's resurgence is how great Martin Mayhew has been in replacing Millen. turns out he's got some balls on top of a great eye:
Schwartz and Mayhew are instilling a great work ethic in this team, and a little bit of swagger to go with it. Love it.

I forget the opponent but it was 2000.Stafford tied a franchise record today with most TDs in the first two games (7 - Milt Plum and a couple other guys).I would say something to my fellow Lions fans to act like you've been there before...but yeah, we haven't been there before, so ####### whoop it up boys!

Just noticed an interesting stat. After two weeks of play the lions have scored more points than any other team (75) and allowed fewer points than any other team (23).
St. Louis and NYG both gave up more than 23 last week, and will have to score 52 or 51 points, respectively, tomorrow night to equal Detroit's output.

I love watching these guys play. It's good to see teams move in the right direction. makes things more interesting.I've found myself rooting for them. I'm sure having Stafford and Calvin in FF is part of the reason.

I'm as big a fan of Stafford around here as anyone but let's see if that holds true vs. teams like GB and Chi. KC pretty much gave up in the 1st quarter when Charles went down. TB was impressive but still nothing compared to what Det will see in the coming weeks, particularly from it's division foes.

I could be wrong, but so far GB's pass D doesn't seem like its going to make anyone forget about the 2000 Baltimore Ravens. Both Brees and Newton have thrown all over them.

I was more referring to the fact that GB can at least get after the QB. Sure, they give up yds in bunches but they will create pressure (and hope to force mistakes) while doing it. I think Stafford will post numbers, but he will take hits and the oline will me challenged a great deal more.

The Mascot didn't take out charles, rewind that and watch it again. He extends knee out when he is reaching for the first, and kind of was in an awkward position on the first down marker and you can see his knee get pressure on it and give out and as he is falling he doesn't put any weight on it. He hurt it before coming in contact with MascotTB and KC..

The Lions chewed up KC through the air one week after the Chiefs lost their star safety. With today's news that the Packers have lost safety Nick Collins for the season, these two Lions/Packers games could get ugly unless Green Bay can find a way to adequately replace Collins.

Lions look excellent so far. Stafford has to keep doing what he has been doing for much longer than 2 games, however, before he would be deserving of being placed above Rodgers and Brees as the "2nd best NFC QB behind Vick [who is banged up]". Lions fans deserve to be loving what they are seeing right now though, for sure.
