Lions-Vikings Game Could Move to Monday Night --

Sat Sep 23, 2006 --from FFMastermind.com

The Detroit Free Press reports the Lions are scheduled to play at Minnesota on Oct. 8, but the game will be moved if there is a baseball playoff game at the Metrodome that day. The game probably would be rescheduled for Oct. 9, a Monday, Lions chief operating officer Tom Lewand said. But the Lions and Vikings also could switch their home dates. The Vikings are scheduled to visit Ford Field on Dec. 10. The NFL will make the decision in consultation with the Lions, Vikings and Fox Sports, Lewand said. If the Twins win the American League Central title and have home-field advantage in the divisional series, Game 5 would be at the Metrodome on Oct. 8. The Twins have priority over the Vikings, according to their stadium lease

The Minneapolis paper talked about this today too. The decision will likely come late next week.

Let's hope this doesn't happen since I have tickets for the December 10 game and can't make an October 8 game. Go Tigers !

I'm rooting for this to happen just so we can get another shot at the Jaws/Vermeil/Nessler broadcast team, in the case of a MNF double header.
