waiting for the avalanche of S. Greene
I'm probably in the minority but I think there's more than meets the eye to the RB situation for the Jets. I'm not conceding Greene was a mistake yet. Though I don't personally own him in redraft.
Interested in why....most drafted him as a #2 RB and he is on the sidelines way too long for that...thinking LT injury at some point?
A subtle combination of factors. For starters, the Jets ran the ball a league high 611 (?didn't confirm?) times last year and from what I've seen, the passing game doesn't appear to be drastically improved. The Jets are one of the few teams in the league that I feel can sustain two #2 RB's this year. In short, I just don't think LT's 11 att. per game and Greene's 10 att. per game are indicative of what they'll average going forward. Through two weeks, no other RB has touched the ball other than these two. Also, to a lesser extent, I have a hunch that with LT's age & career touches taken into consideration, there's a feeling among the Jets staff that they need to get what they can out of LT as early as possible in an effort to save Greene for the latter half. Now granted, if you drafted Greene as a #2, you'd better have a Jackson/Forsett/Hightower type to keep you afloat. I think he's thrust into a much bigger role going forward.
