Looking Forward to 2011 - Joe Webb Draft Value? (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking he's a sneaky play at the QB position for 2011. He's what I view as Vick Lite - will get you yardage/TD's on the ground and can throw the ball. Are we looking at pre-prison/post-prison Vick incarnated here in Joe Webb? Where in the draft would that place him? I'm thinking I concentrate on my RB's in the first round or two and the stealth move is Joe Webb as my drafted QB choice.

Let me know what you guys think on this one. Pipe dream, or smart move?

realistically I would pay attention to him and his situation in the offseason/preseason. He has shown flashes, but he is still very young.

There is so much time from now until August 2011, that it is impossible to say where he stands. I do think it is pretty close to 100% he will be on the roster, but Minny could easily get a guy like Bulger/McNabb to start and another (via draft or FA) to challenge for the #2 spot. He did win and he has some wiggle; but comparing him to Vick may be correct, unfortunately, you are looking at Year 1 Vick and not post-prison Vick. I never feel comfortable with young, running QBs as their #s seem to be all over the board until they settle...and the given on that is he would be the starter...which is not a given.

I think we need to see what Webb does vs. Detroit this week, assuming he plays/starts. This should give us a little better idea about him, yet still only a small sample size, so it's still mostly guesswork.

If Webb plays well vs. Detroit, I don't think it is far-fetched to think he could be in the competition for starting QB for the Vikes in 2011. However, I don't think the job will be handed to him even if he has two strong games to finish this season. He's a wildcard, but Minnesota has some weapons on offense and Webb can make plays with his feet.

I would feel VERY uncomfortable planning on him as my team's QB1 for 2011, but he is a solid upside play as a QB2, potentially.

Hard to judge his performance vs DET. MIN obviously had mailed it in.

I like him as a dynasty play a lot more than someone I would take in a redraft to start or even be a backup in year one. Freaky good athletic potential though.
