LT - Countdown to MVP (1 Viewer)

Sweeper

This is worthy of its own thread.

Now is there anyone that can say that LT won't win the MVP?

Actually it looks like he can take the record right here, this game.

28 touchdowns by game 14. He gets another change in this game inside the 15 to break the record and get his 29th TD.

It has been an absolute pleasure owning this guy for the last 2 years...

Un Fn Believable... they know it's coming and they just can't stop him.

100yds 3TD on an "off night" :lmao:

Just sick....

GB LT beating SA's record.

And maybe helping me win too - too bad I needed the FWP owner to lose to get in. :( What a waste of production

Congrats to LT, but he would have gotten the record eventually. SD is playing with fire keeping him in during a blowout. It obviously worked out for them, but if I'm coaching, I'm coaching for a Super Bowl, not a TD record with 3 games left to play. How do you think Schottenheimer's week would have been if he got hurt during those last 4 or 5 minutes of the game?

Getting the record at home against Denver while clinching the division title makes it even more sweet.

You can make an argument that the Chargers have the best offensive and defensive players in the game (LT and Merriman).

Wonder if teammates have ever won both awards in the same season? Maybe Montana and Lott?

So glad he got it!!!! (don't think my son and I have ever cheered so much for a player that doesn't play for the Patriots! LOL)

Any LT owners concerned about the next few weeks? Record broken, Division won. All that is left is home field all the way through the playoffs.

Why is he in the game @41-20 with minutes left?
 Lost in all the hoopla over LT's sick numbers is that question. It hasn't mattered yet but LT has taken some extra hits at the end of these games to get some of those gaudy numbers. Marty needs to start planning for the playoffs...something he historically hasn't taken care of.

I'd like to see how the press confrences pan out over the next few hours/days before I panic but ... yes. I would expect to see his role change to some degree over the next few games. And I'm very very ..... scared.

I am. I just checked the standings and Balt. & Indy are both 10-3. With 2 weeks left, what is the tie-break situation if SD is up 1 game on each of these teams going into week 16?

The game was not over until LT scored the last TD. SD was playing for the field goal and LT ended up squirting in. Merriman promptly gets a fumble and LT takes the first play in the end zone. The only questionable play to have LT is the last one. It wasn't that big of a deal.

The lose to Baltimore. Not sure on Indy since they have the same AFC record.

I just checked... & I THINK SD owns the tie-break over Indy w/ Tennessee being the common opponent tie break. Baltimore beat SD so I believe they own the tie break over SD.

SOOOOooooo.... unless I'm mistaken, LT owners should be rootin' big time for Baltimore next week for SD surely doesn't want to have to go on the road to Baltimore in the playoffs.

I'm as big a LT2 fan as there is and I was completely flabbergasted this morning during one of the pre-game shows when one of the football brains said this:

"LT may have the numbers but right now Manning is the MVP"

I wish I would have been paying more attention to see who that was but I didn't.

I wonder if he changed his mind after today.

With three minutes left the Chargers were up by less than two touchdowns.

It's not like the game was a blow out by any means. That last TD was questionable maybe but from the other side of the sidelines ... you have a chance to put the game away and you use LT to do it.

Because they were at home, and they had the ball handed to them on the seven yard line. If the Broncos punt I doubt LT is out there trying to drive 70 yards. But with a short field like that you have to send the fans home happy. Notice they ran an outside play so he had the best chance to avoid a hit (which he did, as always).

That's just not true. Kaeding's field goal at 8:19 put them up 34-20. They got the ball back with 6:51 to play and it was pretty much all LT. They went up 41-20 with 4:02 left. I know they got the ball back again right away at the 7-yard line, but why even take the chance? That's all I was saying. It worked out, so I guess it doesn't matter.

My bad. I was looking at the wrong time, and was also thinking it was 34-21.
