LT is my Clear #1 (1 Viewer)

A moment of fantasy clarity has struck me tonight

1) KC line getting owned by the G-Men and Roaf stating he's not coming back.

2) Alexander's scoring heavily dependent on record breaking TD numbers.

3) LT consistently scoring in the top 3 year in and year out and Rivers looking like he'll be able to keep the defense somewhat honest.

LT

Alexander

LJ

write it down. :football:

i finally decided that until i find out i have a top 3 pick, i'm not going to worry about it :D

would be nice to know if Shields played tonight for KC.

I draft Saturday... 1.01 in a PPR money league. Trying to trade down to 1.03 but not sure I can work a deal.

Thought LJ was a clear cut #1 but now I'm not sure.

i'm in the same spot GBa week ago, I was taking LJ.now I'm leaning LT.

I agree. I took him 1.1 in a draft yesterday. For me, the deciding factor is that Tomlinson is a monster year in and year out because of his own talent, while Alexander and Johnson have benefitted from surrounding talent that won't return this season. When in doubt, draft the more talented player.

:goodposting: I see it the exact same way. One thing that sucks about LT though is his playoff schedule.

LT and POrtis have been my 1a and 1b all along, so not really a surprise to me. LT moves up to 1 now that Portis has the injury cloud. SA and LJ were an afterthought to me all along.

2 years ago, took LT 1.01 and never looked back......

Sunday at 8am, going to take him again with 1.01 and again, I'll never look back.....

Doesn't matter how bad my team gets, LT will retire on my team....

How's that working out for you if you keep getting the 1.01 each year? :D

L.T. should have always been the first pick. The other 3 guys should get a small consideration: Alexander, Portis and LJ but when it all comes down to it L.T. is the safest and easiest choice to make in the draft year in and year out.

Gotcha. I assumed it was the same redraft league, lol. I was glad when I found out I got the 2 spot in the WCOFF because I wanted LT. Now, I'm hoping he'll still be there. In any case, either one of the two shouldn't be a bad start. I think there might be a bit of an overreaction here if the starting guards didn't play and there's still a chance Roaf comes back for one more. Just one quarter of one preseason game shouldn't knock LJ down more than 15-20 FP over the season (ppr leagues).

I don't really have to worry about it, but I think my top 5 (PPR) are:

1 - LT2

2 - Tiki

3 - SA

4 - LJ

5 - Portis

KC just lost too much on the OL...

I don't know about that just yet. One thing I would not do is draft Green. He's meat.

It will be interesting to see if Turley can bring it together. He was destroyed tonight.

Funny, I've been thinking the same thing even BEFORE I saw LJ's results in preseason. Just hoping he doesn't fall to me at 1.04.

After reading some of these posts I just want to say 2 things:

1. I would never argue anyone taking LT #1. He's proven and reliable except for last year's nagging injuries but that can and will happen to most RB's eventually. I'd still go to war with him.

2. For those that are saying they would not take LJ after tonights 4 rush performance in a meaningless preseason game, you are seriously suggesting to downgrade him after tonight?

Well I've seen many of the same posters advice others to not put too much into meaningless preseaon games and yet that appears to be happening. Why? We saw what LJ can do without Roaf last year. They're still going to be a good O-line. They're still going to be a good offense. It's not like they're rolling out a rookie QB or anything nuts like that. It's not like they're going to war without their best O-lineman.

Just sounds like an overreaction to what you guys saw over 4 carries. I wouldn't get too excited about it. Just my .02 cents worth.

If it is not a PPR and if it is a redraft, draft Alexander the Great folks. Look at his playoff schedule. Do you want to win this year or not???? Ultimately you have to win in the playoffs, and you will be kicking your ### when Alexander is rolling through AZ and SF week 14 and 15. Week 16 is tough for Alexander against SD, but he will still grind out 80 yards and 1 TD.

And the lemmings follow the leader off the cliff, one by one.....
It's not as if nothing has changed for the Chiefs offense. Pretty much everything has changed. You can ignore the info if you want but if you think that they lose two starting lineman, an all pro blocker, their coach and offensive coordinator and keep on clicking just because they are the Chiefs I think it's a mistake. People keep saying that Herm is gonna run the same offense but there are adjustments, play calling, new plays, new lineman and definite adjustments that will effect the offense. Remember that the real architects of this offense are gone.

wrong, Solari is and was one of the architects of the running game

did you see Turley tonight? He is gonna be their starter as of now. LJ's best side to run to is now Turley's side. I can't see that being the case this year. I'm not focused on LJ as much as his surroundings.

In relation to the several others mentioned, do you really think he will make that much of an impact? Kinda hitching everything to that one wagon at this point IMO.

I stand corrected then on that point.

 don't knowbut saying the real architects are gone is incorrect.

He also fell off the face of the planet in the playoffs last year, although he was his normal studly self the three previous years, so I'm not too worried about it. The week 14 games is really the only one that worries me, because Denver's proven adept at shutting down Tomlinson. Against anyone else, I'm sure he's going to get his.
Tomlinson is risky as the #3 pick. No chance hes thje #1 this year.
Cool. Way to go out on a limb. What's next Nostradamus? Care to predict whether the lottery ticket I bought today is going to win or not?

I agree with Family Matters. It'd be as stupid to draw any conclusions from 4 carries by Larry Johnson as it would be to draw conclusions from... I don't know... 9 passes by Aaron Brooks, for instance. :lmao:

Nobody is drawing conclusions from 4 preseason carries. People that had LT and LJ closely ranked have given the nod to LT based on the offensive lines performance. LJ's 4 carries have nothing to do with this thread.

I realize this is a slight hijack but can someone explain to me why Portis is ranked as highly as the #1 spot by so many posters? I've yet to see a convincing argument for choosing him over the big three. Certainly I would be estatic to get him after those guys are gone but to rank him in the same category seems insane.

So you're predicting massive numbers from the Texans? Norv Turner should make Gore/Barlow into a fantasy monster? Let's see how much was Vermeil and how much was Saunders. It's not as though #### didn't have a good track record when he came to KC. Where was Saunders before KC and what had he done?
