Did you happen to, um, actually read the Washington Post link you posted? Just wondering because it mocks everything you’re saying.

I think I'll have to call shenanigans on this story. Smells like one of those conspiracy theories that aren't even close to verifiable, let alone believable.

 
As a society, we haven't done a good enough job inoculating our citizenry against conspiracy theories.  

We've relied largely on non-exposure to keep us safe, where information on conspiracy theories were harder to get in previous generations, and didn't travel as fast, or get refined as much, or to be honest, have folks in government repeating them.

But today, we have effectively a globalized version of conspiracy theories, some with state sponsors, being pushed, and as American citizens, many of us are ill-prepared to sift fact from fiction.  It's essentially akin to a pandemic of brain disease due to open information borders and a lack of control of any kind.  Many folks are coming down with the illness.

It's a public health crisis, imo.

A publishing company, initially named Lucifer Publishing Company, was established by Alice and Foster Bailey in the State of New Jersey, USA, in May 1922 to publish the book, Initiation Human and Solar. The ancient myth of Lucifer refers to the angel who brought light to the world, and it is assumed that the name was applied to the publishing company in honour of a journal, which had been edited for a number of years by theosophical founder, HP Blavatsky. It soon became clear to the Bailey’s that some Christian groups have traditionally mistakenly identified Lucifer with Satan, and for this reason the company’s name was changed in 1924 to Lucis Publishing Company.

When the internet and social media became a thing, many people (including me) thought that this would result in more educated people. Suddenly all the world’s knowledge available at one’s fingertips; no need to go looking for it. How could that not be a positive result? 

Instead we have had the reverse: ignorance, false claims, conspiracy nonsense spreads with the speed of light in ways it never could before. It’s very depressing.

The main issue seems to be people wholly unprepared to sift through fact and fiction.

Most of human existence, much of the filtering folks outsourced to the news outlets that provided info.  If it was printed, it must be true because there were editors.  Many of the older generation still believe this and are most likely to fall for fake stories online.

The gatekeepers of truth are all gone, and it's the wild wild west of information, and what's more is that there are moneyed interests out there putting out and promoting intentionally false stories to serve their political agendas and as a society we're entirely unprepared for it.

Perhaps not but you’re drawing all sorts of inferences from it- that’s the false and misleading part. 

I don’t think you’re shtick, @pinkham13; your posts strike me as honest. I believe you’re being manipulated, taken advantage of by some very bad people.

Fox News is President Trump's biggest network supporter, striving to make him look good. Nothing false or misleading about that. The Fox Network is also responsible for first airing the series "Lucifer", which portrays the Devil as a good guy. It's depressing that people have this information but look the other way because it's easier.

A quick search of lucis trust talk over the past few days leads to conspiracy theories surrounding "globalists", from zerohedge, referencing a global currency and numerous other conspiracy theories.

 
Is this about Lucis of Borg or Lucis the rapper?

(whoops, Locutis of Borg and Ludacris the rapper)  I wonder if those two are working together to undo the civilized world.  That would be dope.

Except it’s not a conspiracy it’s facts. I provided the link. they fund the U.N. and publish their papers. They influence policy. Is everything you don’t recognize as facts a conspiracy?

Biden also has the same number of letters in his name as Obama.  Trump as well.  Could they all be the same person?  Stay tuned to find out as I further elucidate numerology!

It's a fact that the NGO dude called a Biden to ask for a lawyer. (assuming yahoo story is correct, which i have no reason to dispute).

THe moves you make AFTER that fact are the conspiracies.

So we are moving on from who publishes the report...to claims of some Communist trying to influence the UN with cash  and supposedly calling a Biden (which has zero to do with the publisher or the original claim of lucis).

So lets stick with one story at a time.

You can talk about whatever you think is relevant to the fact that Lucis trust is an NGO that funds the U.N. and publishes its papers. If it veers off a bit we can get it back on track I’m sure.
