Mad Men on AMC (1 Viewer)

Yes, can always count on footballguys to have people trashing what is being universally praised elsewhere as the best episode of the season.
Beethoven's 9th is joyless, Prague Castle is smaller than I expected and Miguel Cabrera isn't a complete enough player for my liking.

I bet the undercover cop will turn out to be gay Sal and he will blackmail GM to get back with SCDPCCCC.

Was a great episode. Was there any meaning to the closing of the curtains behind Megan on the plane?
I was wondering about that too. Seemed to make a point of showing it.
was thinking maybe Peter's gal was banging someone else on a plane but she was in her seat before they went to curtains.

Honestly if they just edited out every single Megan scene from the last two years, would we be missing anything? I don't understand why she is in every episode but a dynamic actress like Sallie Draper is barely ever shown

I can finally admit that the show is really missing something for me. Possibly because I have expectations along the lines of Breaking Bad or the Sopranos, and this show just isn't suspenseful or riveting in the way that those shows were. Still entertaining enough to devote the hour per week, but pretty doubtful that anything is going to blow us away between now and the series finale.

Probably what killed it was adding too damn many characters, which is what also made the Office really start to suck toward the end. And overall I agree with whoever said it's becoming a soap opera. It feels like they are just going through the motions of closing out all the storylines and it feels like a chore.

Sepinwall had a great review, saying they could have ended the series with that dance and diner scene....so if Weiner burned through that, he must have something good on deck.

I think the ending to this is going to be an emotional wallop.

I remember what an emotional wallop it was just to watch Don get drunk and show up 5 hours late from picking up his kid's birthday cake. Now since he's been wallowing at or near rock bottom for so long, I guess the only wallop would be the opposite, like some amazing cathartic moment of clarity that lets us all know he's going to be just, just fine.

Then again, that one rumor of having the last scene be of an 80-year-old don would be the best way to accomplish that.

I would have paid $100 for Bob to ask that guy how he was doing after getting out of jail, so he could have responded with a "Not great Bob!"

Think Sepinwall would have been the only person satisfied with that ending. He got a nugget about Sinatra years ago and wrote a review around it. Still an entertaining review. After Mad Men and GoT's he's a must read.

Besides horse teeth on my screen
Seriously, I thought she was going to fix that. She knows her teeth suck, even mentioned it. If Jessica Pare fixed her teeth she'd gain at least a full point on the hotness scale.
Maybe after a career-launching "role" as a topless hot chick in a hot tub ended up with her having a role on an all-time classic TV show as the hot secretary/wife of the main character and a long running ad campaign as a hot motorcycle riding girl, she felt like she was high enough on the hotness scale already? Evidence seems to suggest it.

It also gives her a little character and makes her more memorable instead of just being Generic Hot Brunette Actress.

Hot motorcycle riding girl is, I assume, a reference to the T-Mobile ads? Thats not Jessica Pare, thats some other chick.

Seriously?

mind=blown.

Anyway, point is I like the teeth. Makes her interesting, doubt it affects her ability to find work.

T_mobile girl is Carly Foulkes.

ETA: Carly looks a lot like Jessica, except her teeth are perfect and her chest is a tad smaller.

I don't know what to believe any more.

The Don and Peggy slow dancing was one of the top moments of the series. If you've been following these characters at all you have to love that.

As I asked previously why was Peggy hating on Don so much when he came back? "Well nobody missed you." Especially when Lou was so dismissive of her. Would think Don would be welcomed back by her.

T-Mobile girl is famous for sticking out among a thousand commercials. Her hotness demanded attention. Jessica Pare is famous for not being hot enough for Don Draper and disappointing fans. Don't get me wrong Pare is beautiful but they did insert a line about her teeth in a recent episode.

It's no contest. They don't even really look alike.

Seriously? He treated her like #### and abused her during his meltdown. I think she was also still pissed at him for not going to California so Ted could have stayed in NYC.

I thought about Peggy's bad attitude, and it struck me that since we know that Don and Peggy have kind of a father/daughter relationship, her behavior could be seen as simply lashing out at a parental figure. It kind of makes sense in that context.

Not a bad thought JDog, havent thought about it like that

What's the play from McCann being afraid the good guys are stealing Buick, and approaching Roger in the spa?

I think not has something to do with payment to the actors and staff. This way they sign a contract for one season, not two
