Making a Murderer on Netflix .... anyway watch this? (1 Viewer)

I'm on episode 6 now I think so please don't spoil it for me. But what a crazy story about a man who spends 18 years in prison, gets exonerated, then gets arrested for another murder. Rivetting. I haven't been this hooked on a show since I first watch the Sopranos. I can't believe some of the things the judges and police did during the first 6 episodes.

Basically a 10 hour documentary with more twists than Hollywood could dream up

I'm halfway through (first trial episode). It's incredible. You think it can't get any more ridiculous and then they hit you with something new that takes it to another level. Some TV critics should probably amend their year-end "Best of" lists based on what I've seen so far.

Having a really hard time not googling, not only because I want to find out what happens but because I want to see what the local media and the major players are saying about this renewed focus on the case.

Totally sucked in. Most interesting thing I've watched in a long time. Like years. Reminds me of HBO True Detective with the intro. Definitely a lot like Fargo as well. Could easily take plus in the UP.

Already a thread on this

So many awful people in this thing.

Kachinsky and O'Kelley could be found dead in a ditch and I'd look to shake the murderer's hand. Just despicable pieces of ####

Re: Avery's first appeal

I don't know if it's the norm, but why would an appeal of a conviction go through the same judge that presided over the original case? Seems that there's an innate bias there

PSA: That is a spoiler thread. Wouldn't venture too far in if you're new to the series

I am a true crime nut so this is right up my alley. I have to say this show has sucked me in big time. The thing you have to be careful about when watching this stuff is bias. This program wants you to be on the side of the defendant. Having said that, it is very hard to ignore what has gone on in this case from law enforcement. I want to do some research regarding the victim here. I think we need to know what was going on her life and any relationships she had. I know one thing, the county law enforcement that were being sued in civl court by this defendant should have never been allowed on his property. Supposedly Manitowoc county was only supposed to be on the periphery of this investigation due to the lawsuit but that is not what happened.
