Why before, shouldn't they wash it after? You know, to get rid of all those pieces that get stuck in everything

When I go to those places, I simply ask to get it done after. Its never been an issue.

I've had them wash my hair first. I think it helps your hair lay more naturally, which helps them cut it. If I was cutting hair, I'd prefer to wash it first too just because I'm OCD about cleanliness. Plus, wet hair sticks together more, so when they clip it off, it falls in chunks instead of like confetti.

I wish my place offered a tug and a haircut. I the girl that cuts my hair...

I imagine it is easier for them to cut hair evenly when it is wet. Also I think it's to remove product from your hair that might also make it more difficult to cut.

I used to go to a place in San Francisco, Ahmed's barbershop or something similar. The staff was all female and Ahmed had Playboy and Penthouse as his reading material. After your haircut, the girl would break out this electronic massager and work my shoulder and back. She would then give me a shoulder massage by hand. There were a couple of skank Asian women that worked there but the girl I went to was this super hot white chick. I'd always go stoned and found out she liked to smoke as well so for a tip I would bring her a kind bud.
