Do these other QBs have a resume a mile long of being one of the very best regular season QBs and following that season up with a complete bust in the playoffs? With the exception of the Seattle game, you take a look at a Jake Delhomme and you will see that he has performed much better in his playoff career than his regular season career. Along the way I'm sure he has ran into good teams, 3-4 defenses that blitz, and screw ups by his offensive line. You're completely ignoring the fact that Peyton Manning's performance on the big stage drops off significantly more than other QBs. This is very similar to Barry Bonds' postseason stats before the WS vs the Angels. I always love the Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien, etc... arguement. Did Dilfer do anything differently in the 2000 Ravens' postseason from what he did in the regular season? Or, did he simply continue to play at the same level? Dilfer was never asked to win a regular season game or a postseason game. He performed very consistently the entire way, unlike Peyton Manning does year in and year out. The guy has never carried a team to a championship and never will. He may get lucky and "Bledsoe" his way into a SB ring, but he'll never earn it from behind cener.Well, now we are sort of entering a different area of the discussion. Since Brady has been dominating Super Bowl victories lately, does that mean all the other QBs have been merely average? And since Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl, does that make Dilfer better than Manning? This has been my point. However, when the playoffs come around Manning goes from top tier to merely average.
