Maybe it's because I don't follow college ball and I didn't know about the stories, but I don't see the big deal. Yes, lying is bad and makes everything you do afterwards questionable but I have no idea why this story is so huge.I don't know much details, but isn't Te'o basically claiming he was "catfished" by his friend, but that doesn't make sense because Te'o allegedly "talked on the phone" to the girl for hours everyday while she was on her death bed? Am I correct? The only logical explanation I can think of is Te'o being a closeted gay, as I mentioned in the other thread. Think about it, there's an estimated 3% of NFL players who are homosexual but NONE of them are out to the public. It's crazy how the athletes will own up to being womanizers, cheaters, alcoholics, druggies, murderers, etc but they wouldn't dare admit to being gay. Crazy how society is, but that's another thread.Like I said, I don't know much about this kid but I hope this won't affect his NFL career too much. As a gay man I can completely understand why he would make up a girlfriend, but why not just say you guys broke up instead of dying? That's what I did..lol.Has he spoken publicly about this yet?
