Marcedes Lewis (1 Viewer)

In looking at the targets for Jax receivers, Garrard is spreading the ball around, although Lewis' targets seem like they're starting to head up (small sample size, to be sure). IIRC, he was 1st round draft pick projected with a boatload of potential - huge target.

Any thoughts on whether he's starting to emerge as a favored target of Garrard? With none of the Jax WRs showing much, might there be some value? Just looking for someone now that Heap is banged up and Cooley is now a blocker. :lmao:

He seems to be getting the looks from Garrard. I think he could emerge as the season goes on and they build more chemistry. The Jags WR corp is terrible. Northcutt is their "clear cut" #1 option. Enough said.

Precisely what I'm thinking. Often the opportunity for a TE to emerge, beyond talent of course, is a poor WR corps, a conservative offense that looks to move the chains, and a QB that likes to check down to his receivers. Seems reasonable in this case.

I'm in the same boat. As I've not subjected myself to any Jags games this year, I'm going to take Bloom's word at face value it and go get him.

Bloom said (in so many words) that Lewis is turning into a real Fantasy TE in his review of the Week 3 Jags game on the Audible podcast.

Lewis is getting downfield, ripping the seams, and also proving himself to be tough to bring down after the catch. He has the best hands of any receiver on the roster. The only thing that will hold him back is the fact that the Jags should settle back into being a run first team. They drafted him to be a major weapon in the passing game (and hes and underrated blocker), and the time for that has arrived.

Thanks for that. I'm definitely intrigued.

I especially like him in a dynasty format since I think he will continue to improve. In a redraft I wouldn't want to have to rely on him yet.
