The new attack masteries don't necessarily make your champ stronger, they just shave seconds off each battle, is that right? That is tempting, but I think I'm more interested in masteries that improve my Alliance Quest team. I'm eyeballing Willpower, Inequity, and Resonate, the ones that reduce enemy attack.

I'm not sure why they think this will stop people from wanting to save....who on earth would be happy to hit milestone 5 every 7 days when if you save you could reach milestone 10 for example.

Yeah, endless 7 day crystal events doesn't help unless they lower the milestones to where we can hit all of them with the crystals we earn in 7 days. Otherwise we still end up skipping them to save up for something worthwhile.
Unless they just make ALL the rewards suck bad enough it isn't worth saving for the top stuff.

Yeah, but if you save for two or three weeks, you're guaranteed to have an event going on when you decide to open, and should have a better chance to hit top rewards if everyone isn't saving up for the same week.
Seems like a positive move.

Might be the plan. They're looking for a way to stop the saving, but it usually takes them 2-3 iterations of a plan before actually solving the problems they create, so I expect some more tweaking on this concept, maybe with prize payouts.

Why do they not want more transparency in the alliance? They already tell us who is ranking up, what is the downside of telling us who is opening stuff. It will now be a gamble to pick what week to save for. Can we pick the week the other alliances skip and get good rank rewards?
Finally figured out how I can contribute more to the alliance quests, be a node eater. Woot just joined and instead of having him use up his 5 energy and be stuck halfway through a path I revived one guy and went to the next node then backed out of the fight. He can then fight without using energy. When I saw the fight was over I ran up to the next node and again backed out. Let him make it around the outside path with only using like 1 energy.

You don't even need to revive a guy, I don't believe. You can travel the path to eat the energy with a dead team. I just did the same in Group1.

It is definitely the way to go if someone is dead or down to almost no health. We just need to have both people online at the same time.UOFI, that was a smart move! Used only 1 energy to take out an entire path, which normally takes multiple hours due to refills. We definitely need to keep using this strategy

So are we opening for this next week? Just keep opening as we get things and see what damage we can do over one week? To try and avoid the last minute spending we just did, we should all try to do a handful of 1v1 each day. There is nothing else to use your 1* guys for. They are only 25 points for the crystal event, but if we all do 5 a day that would be 25k over the week, would certainly help. In the past I have let my girls do those when they ask to play the game.
These changes are rubbish yet again. They say they don't want people to see who's opening crystals yet they are going to have constant crystal events where it shows how many points a person has from opening. Good job Kabam.

This last change today is horrible. The ONLY way to get a regular crystal now is to rank or to BUY it. #### you Kabam, this is not an improvement. The shards were a good idea if they had been in addition. Clearly their intention was to replace existing awards and make it even more important to pay real money.

It took us forever to save crystals and we missed the 3* reward. I think we should save at a minimum 3 weeks so that we can put forth a legit effort towards hitting a 3* champ milestone. Keep in mind that most of us were also holding 4* crystals that were worth 25000 points that we won from Thanos.
I wont score anything close to what I did before. I had 4 4* crystals saved up this round and a bunch of others. When we went after the level up event I opened about 100k pts worth of PHC's and similar but those were buult up over weeks of daily event awards, and helped out by the half price milestones during all those Ant Man & Yellow Jacket contests.
Now that we are only getting shards for milestones and alliance events going to be really hard to score high again. Best bet might be to hoard units if possible and straight out "buy" crystals with the saved units.

Non Shard. Shard crystals still give the same champs when opened, but they give a fraction of the amt of points for the alliance events. For instance a 4* is 25,000 points, but a 4* Shard Crystal is only worth 2,000 points.

I'm beyond frustrated right now. Spent so much time grinding the arena, spent a crapload of units on recharges, was gifted recharges (thanks Ten) and wasted so much time to get to 2.5 million. And for what? A 3* magik dupe that doesn't even give ISO and no Thor. And then to make it worse, they tell us F U, we're gonna make all our good changes worse now! I'm tempted to quit the game.

Felt the exact same way when my 3.2 M in that Panther arena got a 3* crystal.
Then they hit me again by doing this bracket thing the very next week. My 1500 ranking would have been good for the basic 4* probably.
Still haven't recovered from that, only doing quests and the catalyst arenas for now. At least you know exactly what you need in the Catalyst Clash.

So I decided to sell a few 3* to get the 4* shards I needed, got The Vision which I really wanted. Then opened that phc from one of our events, and got a friggin 4* Dr Strange! Would've been extra sweet if I also got the Thor but I'm really excited right now!

That sucks. When I duped my 3* DD in arena I got ISO, granted that was 6 months ago when I was in the noob bracket

I did. Never duped anyone through arena before so I thought it'd show up the same as a crystal. Didn't notice at the time. Also I was seeing red for a bit there.
I'm going to play with my new toys from our crystal hoarding for a little while and then I am done. I'll keep contributing some and maybe they will have another Magneto type quest soon (next Marvel movie not due out for another 9-10 months basically so gotta do something to tide us over) as those are kind of fun.
This constant crystal then level approach isn't going to work for long, won't take much time before most alliances hit the max on their guys since tier 4 cats are inaccessible. Kabam does not seem to know the golden rule that you can shear a sheep many times but only skin them once.

I understand where you're coming from, and I'm sure many of us feel the same way. It does seem that kabam sees this problem as well, and is trying out different things to keep people involved. Obviously some haven't worked out well, and some have. Hopefully they get some things right and the game doesn't sour on you/us/everyone. I'd hate to lose any of you, but would totally understand. Personally, I think I'm going to start doing the t4 cat arenas so that I'm not stuck at 3/30. Would definitely help keep me interested.

Dropping the PHC rewards from the arenas is beyond disappointing, but not surprising at all. It's a clear ploy to farm actual US dollars. They're a for profit business, so I get it...but I'm not going to give them a dime either.
The t4 cat arenas may be the only reason for me to keep playing at this point, but for what? So I can level up the 2 or 3 fours that I'll land before they roll out the 5*s making them obsolete? That sounds awesome. :-\
I'm not going to ever have the time to put into the 4* arenas to have a chance to place, so it seems like I'm basically just a junkie getting his fix now. It's barely even fun the more I think about it.

I enjoy the fights, especially the challenging ones. The AQs are fun IMHO as well. My biggest gripe with the game is the lack of T4 cats, and I think they need to have stronger milestones with weaker rank rewards. Make the milestones never-ending as far as I'm concerned. Give the paying player the chance to use $$$ to advance, but don't make it so the non-paying player cannot advance. Clash of Clans pretty much has this dialed in.
I'm not going for the 4* in a while i think. Yes, i did get Thor with 2.8mil but took so much time. Wanted to know if I could compete in the 4* vet arena, and got that confirmation. I prefer spending that time with my family when i do the math (3 * 8 runs * 45 mins = 18-20 hours of play time for a virtual char in 3 days.....).
Sure get some units now and then and make slow progress (which was already) and do more then my share in alliance events (arena, quest event, etc). They really should put the 4* as a milestone or implement Dickies' idea. I'm not going to spend €100 for units to get a 4*, even my wife said just do it so i would play less...
Running the 7 day crystal event every 7 days is a joke, and switching the PHC's to shards which give less points is even a worse idea. In the last 3 months the game has been changing more and more from a 'play to advance' to a 'pay to advance' concept. Let's see how it goes from here...
If they make the following changes i'll get some renewed energy:
- 4* as milestone in arena's
- 3* only arena for a 4* reward
- 4* arena for a 5* reward
- open act 4
Maybe arena's are only really reachable for us with "normal" playtime when the Tier 4 cat arena is running AND the champs are not that interesting? That would lure a lot of the big scorers out of the 4* arena.

You can also put me in the "starting to get burned out" camp. I will stick it out for a few more weeks to see if they manage to fix anything. The % based rewards is stupid and I can't imagine if I put in the MJ time to get Thor only to get screwed out of it because not as many people qualified. I was only screwed out of a PHC and some shards. They should make a floor for how many people will get the rewards. If a crap load qualify and more get the reward great, but to penalize people because others did not qualify is ######ed.

If we go hard at the level ups, that will require some of us to do some ranks, which means we don't get the rewards for the ranks, and vice versa.
