Matt Leinart Booed at Dodgers Game Last Night (1 Viewer)

No, link but take my word for it, sold out stadium last night, Dodgers vs. Houston, they show Leinart on the Jumbo... and the crowd boos.

Why?

Is it because of Paris? Is it because he lost? Is it because he's going to Arizona? I don't know but I was a little surprised.

The LA Dodgers crowd is more of a UCLA/"diversity" crowd.

Matt Leinart is Mr. All American USC pimp.

Predictable.

I miss Dodgers games...great weather and great Dodger Dogs.

Wait till he goes to Detroit. Upside for Michigan fans- Leinart hooked up with Paris Hilton, Tom Brady nets hottie Bridget Moynahan. Advantage Blue.

I thought all West Coasters stuck together? Shouldn't UCLA, fans as part of the PAC-10, be supportive of Leinart and be booing the Houston team since they didn't select him #1 overall? ;)

What's he going to Detroit for and what will they do to him? Who ever heard of Bridget Moynihan before she started dating Tom Brady?

Actually the USC/UCLA rivalry is fairly heated...now of course it's not a matter of life and death like it is in the hick conferences, but nonetheless it's a bigger deal than many outside of LA may realize.

There's a pretty good stir about the housing situation being an NCAA violation. If you haven't heard the storty, Matt moved into an upscale apartment last season. It was paid for by his parents, which is perfectly fine. Jarrett was him roommate. The place rented for 3000+ per month. Jarrett was only paying 600. There could be a problem with Jarrett getting the benefits of Matt's wealthy parents. Reggie and Matt are both under fire a little among USC faithful these days...

Seriously, the Paris thing may be hot stuff for some, but the majority of the sports fans think it's pretty weak as far as I can tell. Even Bloom who has supported him for the most part sees Matt registering on the bust-o-meter, or something like that.

Hi lhuck and bagger,What makes a Dodger Dog great?

J

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I really like the taste. It's an Oscar Meyer that is a footlong so the ends hang out of the bun. It's nothing different or unique like a brat in Milwaukee or what some of the east coast stadiums have, but just a really good hot dog though. You have to get the grilled though as unfortunately there are more and more stands that aren't grilling them, and don't taste as good. One of the many changes made once the O'Malley family took over.A big part of it is likely the emotional tie of going to numerous games as a kid but I really haven't found a hot dog at a stadium that I like as much.

That is so weak...I know tons of guys in college that payed lesser rent, because they hooked it up with a dude's parents that didn't mind paying a larger portion. Granted 600 for rent is cheap for LA standards, but it's not that much cheaper than the standard 800-1200 most kids pay.

Yes, the key to the Dodger Dog is finding the stands that grill them...only a handful in the ballpark last time I went. Great flavor.

The NCAA can be brutal with this stuff. I have no problem with Jarrett's housing situation.

Ah, Lions are going to Arizona actually. But I assume someday he'll play a game in Detroit. And at least Brady isnt dating a skanky Brian Urlacher cast-off. A couple of Appletinis and im guessing you or I could land her- not impressed.

Another Dodger kid here. Grew up there, lived and died with the Dodgers in the 60s and 70s.For me, the Dodger Dogs were special for a few reasons:

1) The big reason -- they weren't hot dogs, they were DODGER DOGS! Eating one at the stadium was just what you HAD to do (see 4 below).

2) They were foot-long dogs and mom didn't buy those at home.

3) Because they were foot-longs, you could goup them up with more condiments.

4) Finally, and I don't discount this factor at all, Oscar Mayer was always a prominent sponsor and Vin Scully (every Dodger kid's hero) hyped them in commercials during the broadcasts constantly. "...and when you come to Dodger Stadium, be sure to have a DODGER DOG!"

Excellent point...Vin Scully has been pimping Oscar Meyer since before I was born.:hijackcontinued:

I was at the game too....He didnt get booed....A few people mock booed who were probably UCLA folks...but NOTHING like you claim it was....Ridiculous.

I think the :fishing: icon is the most annoying thing ever. >_<

Most topics ARE built around a little controversy or debate, otherwise there wouldn't be any need to discuss a topic... so why say someone is "fishing?"

dodger dogs are great (I had 2 last night) but the real good thing (for my wife)... veggie dogs, yes, veggie dogs at a baseball game.

but no beer men, so you have to wait in concessions all day.

last nights it was free blanket night so it was packed.

Im going to the opening of a new rollercoaster, tatsu, at magic mountain 2morrow night and leinart & paris are on the guest list so, ill keep you guys in the know.

i stand by my claim, boos they did. they werent throwing tomatoes but boos..yes.

Dodger dogs = overrated.

I was never so disappointed in a dog as last year's home opener in LA.

I also agree (being from Saint Louis) that there is nothing more ridiculous that having to miss 2 1/2 innings to get a beer.

not fishing at all, well i guess a little but just wanted opinions.100% honestly really did happen and I was shocked because Leinart brought 2 championships to LA? So why boo him in LA?

2 1/2..They were the best team the year they crushed Iowa.

Really, I wasn't aware of the rivalry since I grew up on the East Coast...Actually, I did attend UCLA for a bit of grad school, so I am aware of it. Can't you just acknowledge a dig at your West Coast bias? ;)

From my experience in SoCal, they probably put avocado on it, or even a whole salad on top of it. However, it won't just be called a "salad" - it'll be called a mesclun mix sprout salad, or mixed organic baby field greens. Then, maybe some sort of chutney or gluten-free goat cheese with herbes de Provence to put on it instead of mustard, which is way too boring.

That sounds delicious!!

Los Angeles is full of morons. The lamest people in the USA live there, they all go around judging everyone else and think their own poop don't stink, I am glad I left that hellhole on earth.

Generalizations like that are foolish and unfair. Who is judging others here?

Irony, thy name is Noahs Troopers.Yup, no judging there in that post. No siree bob, that there isn't a generalization or anything...

RE: the actual thread topic. If they were booing either over the Paris thing or the housing thing they need their heads examined.

I lived in LA for 8 years, I think I earned the right by sucking down enough smog into my lungs to make a generalization.
