Matt Schaub was hospitalized Tuesday night (1 Viewer)

When Peyton Manning had offseason surgery and started slow, I believe it was b/c of his bursa sacks.

Okay I think every Schaub owner wants to know is this going to cause him to miss any games? I have no idea what a bursa sac is and I don't care. Can someone who knows what they are talking about chime in and tell us if this is a one week, multi-week recovery? Is he going on IR?

Actually I think it would behoove us to care. More than just will he / won't he, this could actually explain an awful lot. If I remember correctly (maybe someone can verify), wasn't he having problems with the knee earlier in the year? If this was minor surgery to remove/repair it, I'd feel a lot better about his prospects down the stretch. Something's been off with Schaub all year IMO.

Things are looking up for Foster owners.
I wouldn't make that statement. The threat of Shaub and the passing game complemented and opened up the running game. If u were an opposing D coordinator, would take the chance of Orlovsky or Leinhert hurting you, or Foster?

I will officially be benched Andre Johnson against Revis this weekend now. Just have to decide to start Crabtree or Floyd in his place

I agree. As a Foster and Andre owner, I am really upset at this news. I'll need to hear a little bit more before i jump off a bridge. This couldn't come at a worse time, I can slip from 1st to 4th in a second

I have a similar decision. Can bench Andre for Floyd or SEA M. Williams. Tough decisions. Orlovsky did have some decent games with Detroit from what I recall.

No way am I playing Andre with Orlovsky under center. I was considering benching him against Revis anyways. If I had scrubs to replace him I would have second thoughts, but Crabtree has been awesome in the last 4 games and Floyd is the #1 this week on the #1 passing offense in football

No doubt. Not to mention Schaub's familirarity with dumpoffs to Foster. As a Foster owner....I want a healthy Schaub.

Interesting. Not sure why a bursa sac issue would require hospitalization unless it involves drainage, IV antibiotics and observation for a possible joint infection. Hard to see an overnight stay for an isolated worsening bursitis. Speculation of course, but I'd consider Schaub very questionable until more specifics are known.

This latest is from FBG news blogger and it states that coach expects Schaub to practice Thursday. Just monitor the practice report Thurs and Fri.

"Texans | Matt Schaub hospitalized Tuesday, should return Thursday Wed Nov 17, 02:43 PM

Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 17, after being hospitalized Tuesday, Nov. 16, because of a bursa sac issue in his knee, reports Nick Scurfield, of HoustonTexans.com. Head coach Gary Kubiak said he expects Schaub to practice Thursday, Nov. 18."

I would think that the biggest question would be either it needing to be drained of if they wanted to make sure there wasn't any possible infection.

:lmao: Came here to say essentially the same thing...you don't get hospitalized for a bursa sac injury that isnt an infection. Maybe Kubiak is hopeful that a drain and drugs will fix it, but this has lingering problem devolving into a quick surgery written all over it.

I have no idea what a bursa sac is and I don't care. Can someone who knows what they are talking about chime in and tell us if this is a one week, multi-week recovery? Is he going on IR?
goota love us americans. don't care to learn about things, just about how it affects our fake football teams

I would like to learn why you even wasted 1 second making this statement. You really generalized your statement.....this is as ignorant as saying all white people eat crackers. All that being said.....I am very much concerned about Matt Schaubs knee. No way are you hospitalized for a bursa sac and come out and play a pick up game much less an NFL game.

The concern here has to be that with the Texans possibly falling out of playoff contention, if his knee acts up at all, they might find it best to not play him down the stretch, for fear of making it worse. If they lose to the Jets and fall to 4-6, given how tough the AFC is, they are for all intents and purposes finished, so that is the concern here.

From rotoworld:

Texans coach Gary Kubiak insisted Wednesday that Matt Schaub did not need surgery for his inflamed bursa sac during his Tuesday hospitalization.

"No," Kubiak said. "Just needed some rest, needed some treatment; made a decision that it was best to give it there than sitting around here all day." Sending Schaub to the hospital seems overly precautionary if all he needed was treatment on the knee. Kubiak added that "we really don't know" when the injury occurred. Check back Thursday for an update on Schaub's status.
Kubiak would have been better off not saying anything. Does he think anyone is that stupid?

wow... way to speculate and blow things out of proportion. too many IFs. Might as well go and drop all your texans players too right?

I think you are blowing my post out of proportion. I merely expressed some natural concern. If Schaub goes down, the whole Texans offense is affected in a big way, and I'd say the QB getting his knee worked out is a cause for at some slight concern, no?
