Maurice Jones-Drew is getting his own radio show to share his expertise with fans according to the Associated Press.

The Pro Bowl Jacksonville Jaguars running back will host the program every Friday night during the season on the new all-fantasy-sports station on satellite radio service Sirius XM.

Jones-Drew lost the NFL Players Association fantasy league title to Cato June in 2008. Last season, he good-naturedly acknowledged that by taking a knee at the 1 to seal a victory against the Jets, he cost himself a fantasy win.

On a side note, I had been wondering how long it was going to be before SiriusXM launched a Fantasy Sports station. Am listening to a baseball show now, hope the channel can stick around for a long time...

Didn't Jack Del Rio put an end to Garrard's talk show?
He did. It will be interesting to see if he tries to stop MJD from doing this.
I think it had something to do with the timing of Garrard's show. Don't remember when it was scheduled for however.
It was Friday night and Del Rio stated something like Garrard needs to be home relaxing and watching film.
Del Rio was right, Garrard needs to work on game film, Jones-Drew however does not.

Agreed.Wish him luck - have met him a couple times, nice guy. Hope he continues to have the good nature he always exhibits after his first five callers yell at him for something he did the previous week. Wish I had XM - I'd listen to this every week.

I'm a bit curious about what MJD's fantasy advice is going to be. I'd imagine he's going to say "draft me" or "trade for me" a lot.

I doubt that MJD is beholden to the same rules as David Garrard.
I would hope not, but Del Rio makes some curious decisions, to say the least.

Anybody know if MJD still has his show? If so, what is he saying about his stats/performances and his upcoming stats/performances? Does he sound frustrated or happy or what? Please explain.

He does, but it's on Friday nights @ 7pm. I doubt I'll have a chance to listen to it, but will try as I would like to know this too... The few times I have listened, he came off like he wanted to share all this "insider" info, but it didn't help. The show was used for everyone calling in and telling him how great he was for them last year..blah, blah...wonder what the calls will be like now....No disrespect..... but he and Garrard should be using this "spare" time to study game films of upcoming opponents not doing a fantasy show..he is killing me...No disrespect.

Were I an owner of MJD, I would be concerned. 35 carries for 129 yards (not awful) and no TDs.

But he looks different this year. I don't see the same explosiveness I used to see. Maybe my eyes are fooling me... who knows.

I dont think your eyes are fooling you. I was at the game vs. SD and I said the same thing to my buddy..."he looks slow"It was surprising to me....compared to mathews who ran with quickness and explosiveness with the limited carries I saw of him. With that being said he is still the main weapon in JAX and will get his

Do we think this is related to his non injured knee? Maybe there is more of an injury here than we are being led to believe sounds like it might be time to grab Jennings whether you own drew or not.

MJD's meet Steven Jackson... your future. Lines stacked on you. No passing game. D can't stop the other team.

Is his radio show still going on? If so, what's the latest? And, if this show is streamed somewhere, please give link.

If you subscribe to Sirius XM premium online (In addition to the primary radio subscription you already pay for - thieves, the merger has only made it more expensive since it used to be free), you can listen via your computer. Also, if you have a BB or iPhone, you can listen on that too. They do repeats at off hours during the week of Running with MJD.

He's alright. He gives you the front line perspective on things which is nice I guess, but I don't consider him a fantasy expert like his co-hosts.

That channel alone is awesome and validates my sub, I love it. Even after the FF season is over, I still listen as they actually talk non-fantasy sports too and I like to hear the fantasy hosts talk outside the frame of fantasy every once in awhile, it's refreshing. Looking forward to having it for Baseball season too.

I personally thought his show was REALLY rough. It was more reminiscent of the regional sports talk radio shows that feature a team's best player. Every caller pretty much had to genuflect about how much they loved MJD before they got to their question, and MJD pretty much always went with his gut and rarely offered any kind of analytical depth in his responses. Interestingly Turtle from Entourage also has a show on the channel and knew 50x as much about fantasy as MJD.

He did name Arian Foster the breakout player for this year. I will pay attention to that much.

He was in two leagues, won one, finished last in the other. He played himself when he wasn't even playing, what does that tell you? People who take fantasy advice from people just because they are celebrities are foolish. What has he done to earn the respect of the FF community except for playing casual FF?

Yeah, that's the One thing I remember him saying right out of the box and so I guess I give him some credit. He may not throw a million stats at us like most "fantasy experts" do, but there is something to be said for telling something from an "eye level, in the trenches" point of view. He sees this guy on the field and on film while he's working with his coaches and because he understands what it is the Texans have as a team philosophy on offense, he recognizes that Foster can likely succeed.I don't know if he is going to be able to have that much material to sustain but he is one of the better speakers as far as athletes who are onthe guest line on sirius (they have been interviewing him regularly since before he was drafted and he has always spoken well with good insight.I agree with the above poster in regards to how callers waste so much time drooling on the host before they ever get to the question. That happens on ALL their talk shows and it really gets old. There are times I can be listening for 30 minutes on the drive home and between the LONG commercials and the callers that call in and spend 90% of their time lauding the host, there isn't much info to listen to sometimes. When Jerry Rice was a host, you couldn't listen to it. I heard the "Jesus in cleats" reference 10 times a day.
