Maurice Jones-Drew says "NO" to steroid use. (1 Viewer)

Merriman no doubt had his "supplier" on line one after this game. :boxing:

I had to rewind the DVR a few times earlier today to watch it again...

Gotta love MJD as a player...not sold on him this year for fantasy purposes though.

MJD is oldschool. He's a lot like Portis.

I happen to have MJD/Portis/LJ on one of my teams, I just love cheering for these guys. All 3 of them have jacked up quite a few guys on INTs.

Great clips.

Jesus that kid can block. He makes me so proud to be a UCLA grad.
It's good that there is one reason for you to be proud of going to UCLA.
Well, that and the fact that it's a top-25 University with more National Championships in sports than any other school in the NCAA.

Didn't MJD also run him over on the GL TD? He leveled someone but couldn't see the LB's # on the TV.

I was listening to the Chargers Radio broadcast when that happened - one guy seemed to be pretty impressed, but they did sorta grumble about how 'the TV guys are going on and on about Jones-Drews' block on Merriman' and seemd annoyed.

That was around the time I think one of the play by play guys lost his mind and started to call some of the JAX fans at the game 'My Name is Earl white trash' or somethign alongthose lines. It was amusing to hear his co-host trying to pull him back from the brink of really putting his foot in his mouth.

MJD is pretty damn tough for a little guy!

Great block, but it's not like Merriman was overpowered. He clearly was out of position and off balance....

His reply from the SD Tribune.....

He perhaps found some more motivation yesterday in a play that has already become an Internet favorite and has been played again and again on television highlight shows.

On the Jaguars' final touchdown in the third quarter, on a throw away from his side, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound Merriman was knocked on his rear by 5-7, 208-pound running back Maurice Jones-Drew.

“The fullback bluffs and makes it look like he's going for a pass,” Merriman said, explaining the play as he smiled. “The fullback runs past me. I'm stopped to see what is going on. And here comes (Jones-Drew), and he caught me leaning, going back into pass coverage. It was a good play. I probably should send him a thank-you card for (ticking) me off the rest of the season.”

that might be the greatest thing i've ever seen.

MJD is my fav. player (as a jags fan and a short man myself, it's a natural fit).

outside of haynesworth and jeramy stevens, i'm not sure there's a player that disgusts me any more than shawne merriman.

i was sort of hoping for an MJD lights out dance, but that hit served merriman with plenty of shame and humiliation all on it's own.

maybe when ESPN catches a break b/w having philosphical discussions about A-Rod and showing clips of vick walking into a building, they could find the time to flood the airways with replays of that hit. i could never get sick of watching it and the world needs to see this over and over and over and over again.

that hit represents everything that's right about the world.

I think people just love to see cheaters get theirs. If it was another (non-cheating) player, it wouldn't have this much play.

I think people just like to watch a little guy beat up a big guy. :lmao:
