McClure's BBQ (2 Viewers)

shirt ordered. Effing Paypal still insists that I live in Brazil. Contacted Sache by mail to have them change the address to my buddy in NJ - Intl shipping is more than the shirt and he'll be muling me some other stuff anyway...

F'n Icon I guess I'm ordering online.

And I was really looking forward to stacking 500 nickels in his mail box. :kicksrock:

Sorry GB totally forgot to tell ya... I grabbed a couple for GF and mom & dad but they didn't have a ton of loose stock when I dropped in this Saturday... at least none that I saw. They may have already sent it all over to Emerge Memphis (who's handling fulfillment). Sorry GB. :( You can try to call over to Sache downtown and see if they have any in house for pickup rather than the shipping.

Update on the side issues?

What are we doing about the sub-par mac and cheese and german baked potatoes?

I plan on getting a shirt in person as well sometime in the next few months. Got a friend I've been visiting in Mandeville, and we're going to come to the city sometime soon. I'm lobbying for McClures for lunch or dinner. Congrats and wishing you continued success, tip!

How big are these shirts? It needs to be fitting but not ######## tight when I cut the sleeves off. Icon, what size are you getting? I seen your pic and can judge from there.

An XL fits me great (I don't wear skin tight crap). 6' 200lbs. They are designed to be "Fashion cut" meaning they're not big boxy cuts like Hanes Beefy T's... but they're not fitted skin tight either.

Shoot, hope I ordered the right size. Hate tight t shirts. If I need a bigger size, I'll give one to the wife

It's ok the extra shipping cost is not a big deal.

I'm more disconsolate over the thought of missing out on you opening your mail box and finding 500 nickels in there.

It would have been glorious.

as for the subpar mac & cheese & the brisket problems.

the sides are fixed for sure....getting rid of the potato salad and going with jambalaya has been a great idea. Jambalaya is 2nd only to the mac and running close behind.

the brisket remains touchy. last three shifts it was spot on. today it was terrible so I 86'd it. We have come up with a sloppy birsket joe sandwich that takes care of the brisket screw ups.

hmmm maybe I need to fork out the extra 2 bucks...

:lmao: I already have about $700 in change from our "Change jar" I've been meaning to cash in...what's another $25

Don't let me scare anyone... it's definitely not a fitted shirt. But if a guy is rocking a C cup or looks like he might be about 6 months along, might wanna err on the "up a size" vs "down a size". :)

Having had your Jambalaya (though likely not the exact version) I'll agree that it's top shelf. That was actually brought up at an impromptu chat about BBQfest... two people were adamant that you make a batch again this year. I reminded them that the menu is 100% your call

Sloppy Brisket Joe sammich sounds unreal... would allow you to cheat it with the sauce a bit, too.

the jambalaya is a sure thing for every MIM ....its too good & too cheap and I get to show off my jambalaya kettle. wish we could set up the cooking at the front of the tent for everyone to see...

Just ordered a shirt. Will rock it around the Twin Cities and then have to tell people, "no, I haven't ever been there, but I've read on the internet that it's really good."

Who's to say we can't set up some cooking space out front! Going into this with a clean slate and the head guy for the primary scaffolding company for the entire month long festival is on our team

i liked shucking oysters where everyone walking in had to see them. grilling those for our guests walking in the booth would be radical. just saying.

Definitely can look at possibly "featuring" the pit a little more when working on the new booth layout/design. Will bring it up Friday.

How is it looking for Sunday? I'm thinking you might be swamped right after the game, or might do a boat load of takeout that morning. I'm gonna try and stumble in after the game sometime.

Just wondering, how much does Tipsy get from each shirt?
Without gettin into TOO much detail (tipsy is welcome to), not much. Once you factor in a tri blend base garment, printed (triple hit white), then add in fulfillment, service, returns, etc... That said economies of scale can come into play to lower his cost basis.

He opted to damn near give them away to you guys... Treating them more as branding/marketing than a profit center, a strategy I agree with (at least early on).

Margins are much better on units he stocks at the store, though.

I just bought my shirt, but didn't see a place to enter FBG Guy to get some rub. No biggee, you guys let me know how it is!

Tipsy already said he's only making like a buck or two off these mail order shirts. Would have been more at the original price of $25, but he didn't want the shirts to go for $30 after shipping costs were factored in.

Was thinking the exact same thing when I ordered mine. Worth it though to help out a fellow FBG!
