McMichael placed on trade block (1 Viewer)

A source told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that Miami has placed Randy McMichael, who caught 62 passes in 2006, on the trade block.

Miami is believed to be seeking a third-round pick in exchange for McMike, which is interesting considering new coach Cam Cameron's history with pass-catching tight ends in San Diego. But McMichael has a history of off-field troubles and is due $4 million in 2007 earnings, including a $3 million roster bonus and $1 million base salary.

A third rounder feels a little steep for this guy, don't you think?
Check out his stats so far in the league. 3rd rounder for a guy that is fairly productive and hasn't exactly had the best QBs throwing him the ball most of his career...3rd seems like a bargain over the TE projects you will see in the draft. Usually only 2-3 good TE coming out each year, kinda hard to come by.

Without reading any posts in this tread, or even the initial post, let me guess. It's been rumored he will get traded to Denver?

Edited to say, I guess not. Hell, everyone else is rumored to go to Denver.

What are Miami's other options at TE? Why are they getting rid of this guy? I dont even know who their backup is. Seems very strange.

W/ their O line, why waste millions on a good pass-catching TE when for 1/2 mil you can get a better blocking TE to help out the line?

I think last year was the first year he did "anything" in November or December. I have no clue why that is but I'd wanna find out if he hates the cold weather or something. It's just too weird when you look at his stats

Isn't cincy looking for a TE
Carolina hasn't had a good TE receiving option since Wesley Walls retired, and that's fairly odd given John Fox's preferred approach to offense with power running and ball control. I would think they'd be interested in TE options out there.

Looks like Cameron & Mueller are in full rebuild mode.

Welker for a 2nd.

Wilkerson for a 6th.

McMichael being shopped.

Sammy Morris gone.

McIntosh gone.

Amass picks and build up OL & DL. Going to be some tough years coming up in Miami but this rebuild is long overdue.

This guy seems like a train wreck off the field, but if he has solved those problems, he would be a perfect fit in Green Bay.

He's a receiving TE, not a blocking TE. A lot of teams wont be interested for that reason.

Fantasy wise, his best bet is to go to a team with a TE friendly system like Denver or Oakland, or to go to a team with garbage at WR like Tenn, SF, Jville, ect. Otherwise, he'll become a part time player and his fantasy value will plummet. Would love to see Atlanta employ of lot of two TE formations (or use him wide) and sign him actually.
