Mcnabb to Vikings? (1 Viewer)

alot of people are saying that Garcia runs that offense better than Mcnabb does.
I think it might have more to do with better play calling, ie the 50/50 run/pass ratio with Garcia vs the 65/35 with McNabb.Seems to have some correlation to time of possession and how well the D seems to have played of late. ;) Go figure.
:penalty: BING BING BING!!! We have a winner! Don't get me wrong, I think Garcia has well exceeded expectations. But this is the correct response to anyone who says the Eagles are better with Garcia. Do those same people even realize the number of pass routes they've had to take out of the offense because Garcia can't make the throw?? And how much better McNabb could/would be if they ran the offense with the same balance? Amazing how much better a QB looks with a running game. And with a guy like Westbrook getting the number of touches he should be, so the defense has to actually honor a play fake. Reid fell in love with McNabb's passing ability to the detriment of the play calling. That will (hopefully) be fixed next year. This is an organization that believes in building from within. The is absolutely NO CHANCE McNabb will be traded so they can start Garcia. If they had a young stud in waiting, it could be possible. But not for a lesser QB at the end of his career.

Maller throws a lot of rumors / potential thoughts on the table and hopes some of them are right, IMHO.
He usually provides sources/links on his site. Seems odd but that holds more weight for me than some other rumor sites because he does that.
Does anyone remember former NFL "expert" Fred Edelstein? He used to be the guy in the Mort/Clayton role at ESPN. His last act was bilking several "investors" out of about $600,000, they getting sent to federal prison. Edelstein was, at best, a 'throw it on the wall and see what sticks' reporter. The number of "insider" pieces he presented that were just plain wrong became laughable, and ESPN finally kicked him to the curb. Occasionally though, something he pulled out of his a** came true, and that's how he was able to build is name. It seems Maller is trying to follow in the same path as Fat Freddie. Personally, I can't these types who race off the deep end with rumor and innuendo. Come on, man. Get off your lazy a** and be a responsible journalist. But I realize that's probably a foreign concept. Here's an idea: after the next rumor/random thought you hear, why don't you get off the couch and actually do some RESEARCH! I know, that's just crazy talk... :banned:

What you're missing I think is he's not the originator. He just hunts(google or however) and finds these stories. This guy he quoted(like others said) does have some wacko ideas but the Pioneer Press is a pretty good source for Vikes info. Next could be the Sun Sentinel with a Miami rumor. It's not Ben Maller making the call here, he's just googling.

The only legitimate point that Maller makes is regarding the need for the Vikings to give the season ticket holders a reason to renew. I think they are going to hear crickets in that building if they dont do something extraordinary.

At this point I am seriously considering not renewing my season tickets, which I have had for 10 years. Its not even worth renewing just to sell them. There wont be a market for Vikes tickets at this rate.

I wonder if this is the same "little birdie" that speculated that the Vikings should do whatever they had to to get Larry Fitzgerald.

That bit of speculation ran at least once a week for about three weeks in the local paper.

Bri,I don't know that guys are "missing" that point at all. Rather, some of us simply think that passing along obviously unfounded rumor and speculation under the veil of "news" is not much better than being the originating author of such useless drivel in the first place. There's a reason why anyone within about a 13-county area in/around Minneapolis Saint Paul does this every time Charley Walters' "little birdie" starts talking: :hijacked: or :D Pure fiction and/or an attempt to gain readership by the author...as opposed to being grounded in fact/reality. Thing is, Ben Maller is smart enough (or should be smart enough) to tell the difference......so passing those types of rumors along is potentially harmful and typically self-serving.You just watch how several FFL news sites this off-season handle "McNabb to Vikings?" type of crap that a few journalists are writing in order to fill dead-space in their columns. That'll tell you pretty quickly which FFL sites out there "got game" and which sites would parachute their grandma into the middle of Iran if it meant a few thousand more visits to their web site. :lmao:

It's listed as Rumors though not news at all.
