Howie's job is, quite literally, to do what Andy wants him to do. Love or hate him, Andy makes the decisions. Howie's job is to scout, run the scout team, and answer Andy's questions about said scouted (pro and college) players.
If that was true, they would not be trading McNabb.

Jay Glazer

The Redskins have inquired about McNabb according to Glazer. Apologies if this was posted earlier.

Talk included discussing players. Link
More on the Glazer twitter, and an interesting quote:Been a few days since we have heard a McNabb rumor. This one comes from Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, who somewhat offhandedly mentions on Twitter: "Here's a new one. Actually heard Skins made inquiry."

"To clarify, there was more than just mild interest from Skins for McNabb. Heard they even talked players."

Glazer later replies "absolutely" when asked whether McNabb has played his last game with the Eagles.

"Team is trying to trade him someplace he'll be happy. Have offers but andy is trying to do him right."

Glazer has said the Eagles have offers from Oakland and Buffalo -- as has been reported -- but Reid does not want to send McNabb to an NFL wasteland.

Other than Redskins, what other teams need a QB and are NOT a wasteland? Denver? Miami? Arizona? Minnesota (the Favre problem)? Jacksonville?I would love to see him in MN but pretty sure Favre is coming back late in training camp.

He doesn't strike me as a McDaniel's kind of QB.

Arizona has said that it is going with Leinart. I think that is a mistake and that he would be good in that offense.

Miami seems content to give Henne a chance.

Jacksonville isn't happy with their QB and he could fit in that offense.

I see serious possibilities for Jacksonville, Skins, and AZ. I actually think Oakland could win the AFC West with McNabb because the team isn't that bad if they have a good QB, but it sounds like he has vetoed that destination.

I think that DA signing by the Cards takes them out of the McNabb bidding. [right move or not] I have no reason to doubt that the Eagles were asking too much so the Cards moved onto other options. If Leinart flops, I can see him as an option in 2011 if McNabb does go to one of these 'wastelands'.Don can act like a diva on where he's going. In the end, he'll go where Philly wants him to -- it's becoming clearer to me that the compensation is going to become less & less of an issue and more pressing issue is just getting him out of there. Wouldn't be shocked at all if Donny pushes for a move to Washington.....Eagles refuse to deal in division [Favre situation part 2] and he goes to Oakland/Buffalo/Jax etc...

Here goes some gas into the fire.

Eagles trade McNabb & Kolb, draft a QB, start Vick for the season lo.

Right about now, it wouldn't surprise me

Maybe it's just me, but I see the Jags as a playoff contender with McNabb. They were actually looking okay before losing to Indy at the end of their game and falling apart. I think Sims-Walker, Jones-Drew, and Mc-Nabb would be a great trio on that side of the ball.

I think SF and the Jags are both legit contender with McNabb and SF could be a front runner if they hit on both of their two first rounders

There's no ambiguity here. Andy has complete control over personnel decisions, including free agency, final rosters, and the coaching staff. Roseman answers to him, there's no debate there. If Andy doesn't want 5 gone, he won't leave. If he's OK with trading him, the possibility exists he'll be sent packing. Where is the mystery here?

Kolb isnt going anywhere, except on the plane he boards at DFW AP at 1:00 today to head back to Philly for a couple of days. For better or worse- he's your QB fellas and we should all know where DMac is going fairly soon.

 I thought the mystery is clear... By all reports, McNabb is Andy's guy. Andy adamantly claimed so since the beginning of offseason. Now, Andy is holding up trades to make sure McNabb goes somewhere he'll be happy. It is either an elaborate ruse for Andy to save face when McNabb gets traded or McNabb is being traded despite Andy's objections. I think the more likely option is obvious.

I thought you gave up on the Eagles? Go join the Browns or Raiders threads where your negativeity will be justified.

While Andy clearly likes him this "Andy wants to do him well" is all BS to keep his value up. If Andy was so in love with him he wouldn't have drafted and groomed Kolb and McNabb would have had an extension midway through last year.

That sure is a nice, warm and fuzzy story isn't it?! But at the end of the day, McNabb will go wherever the best offer comes from.

I did give up. I got nothing better to do. No one can say this offseason has been positive one bit. SF WOULD be a legit contender if they got McNabb. Jax, i was never sold on Garrard, thought he was highly over rated but that would be an interesting scenario.
