A few weeks ago, it was all gloom and doom for Calvin Johnson owners. He had 1 TD and had amassed no more than 56 yards over three games. Heading into the GB game Calvin was also banged up and facing Woodson. Many had Megatron hitting the bench for other "solid options."

And then he blew up for 6-86-2...just when the pendulum had swung all the way into the negative direction.

Now Megatron owners are riding high.

And suddenly, Revis Island doesn't seem so intimidating. Lots of confidence everywhere. Revis is still banged up...Jets pass D statistically "average"...Stafford coming around...etc, etc.

I'm going to guess that a very high percentage of Calvin owners are starting him this week...as once again the pendulum has swung the other way.

Anyone out there benching him? And for whom?

As of right now, Calvin is in my starting lineup, but I've got an A. Bradshaw sitting on my bench itching to get into the game.

Here's to hoping that the pendulum still has more room to swing on the upside against Revis today.

I'm considering starting Forte over him at my flex, only because Chicago goes against Buffalo's woeful rush defense. But 5 minutes before kickoff I'll probably just switch back to Megatron. (My other WRs are Nicks and Roddy White.)

The nice thing about Calvin this year is it is like his 2008 season (12 tds) where he is being targetted a lot in the red zone as he should be as he is such a force. Therefore he could have a low yardage day, but still a good bet to pick up a td along the way as could be the case today.

Calvin may end up with a dud this week or some other week in the future. He could also blow up for 110 yards and 2 TDs any week. Start him every week and do not waste your time thinking about it.

How many carries if Forte averaging in the Mike Martz offense? Less than 13? I guess in a PPR maybe. Megatron-Nicks-Rowdy must be a high quality dilemma every week.

34-1 in favor of starting Calvin.

Wow.

That scares me.

Probably going to see a 4-45 with flip of the coin on score.

Don't think I have the guts to sit him for Bradshaw.

I'm not sure why you're surprised. If you're in a Must Start one WR only league, maybe you're surprised but if you're in leagues where you must start 3 Wr's and flex options, how do you bench Calvin Johnson when you have all these byes and injuries? You bench the guy who's tied for TD's?Everyone knows the Jets are good on defense, it's not about that. I don't have 4 better options at WR than Calvin Johnson, I just don't. I don't have 3 better options, at least not on paper, so Calvin Johnson goes in the lineup. If he ends up with 50 yards receiving and no Td's, I won't be shocked. I won't need Jets fans or Revis fans or Calvin haters to tell me I told you so. You didn't tell me anything, I know it's a tough matchup, I personally don't have a handful of better options.

1st half belongs to RevisCJ with one catch for 13 yards
Yep, and that came on the first drive. The Lions went deep to him and it was incomplete.Somewhere in here or other Calvin threads I talked about how the Lions needed to keep going to him whether it's incomplete or incomplete. That you have to keep giving your stud the ball. Barry used to get his even when he went 0, -2, 1, then he'd bust one.You can't go to Calvin 2 or 3 times and then not use him for a quarter. The Lions had momentum then really didn't keep the pressure on as they went up 7-0 early. The Jets are a good team, the Lions need to go for broke every time they touch the ball. Forget trying to be conservative, you're not as talented as the Jets, go for it.With that said, Stafford looks like a guy in some pain. His right shoulder is tender to say the least. I feel like he's one big shot away from being on the sideline. Of course everyone's one shot away, but he's not 100 percent with that right shoulder, he takes a shot on that thing in the 2nd half I could see him coming out.

As great as Calvin is, with that gigantic body of his he definately tends to not get his feet, parts of his body in the endzone. The rule where there are no pushouts for catches, definately does NOT favor him.

It looks like Calvin isn't going to have a very good fantasy game, he missed a TD by not getting his left foot in by 2 inches but the Jets forgot about covering Burleson and got torched for well over a 100 and a TD by him while Stafford has 3 overall Td's and no picks.

Revis is clearly back to 100% and they should stick him on the other teams' top WR from now on, just like they did last year. Lesson learned... don't start your stud WR against Revis unless you really have no other decent option.

I think that's about what everyone's mindset was going in. It's not like people were happy Calvin was matchd up against Revis, it's that they didn't have any other option that's realistic and you go with your stud. Everyone understands that Revis is most likely the NFL's best pass coverage defender.

Local news had an interview with Revis after the game. He didnt come out and SAY it...but he hinted that in the 4th quarter, Megatron was basically not even running his routes. #24 was in his head at that point and he knew the ball wasn't going to go to him.

To all those that played him (me included) you'd have felt a lot worse if he'd gone off for 8-120-2 on your bench.
