Michael Turner injury status? (1 Viewer)

I'm done some searching but I can't find any info on Michael Turner's injury status. Yes I know he's been out with a hamstring, but it's near impossible to find any other info.

And for those of you who care about my dynasty team, I'm probably the only person on earth having to decide between starting Turner or <gulp> Michael Robinson :boxing: in my playoff game this weekend. Turner is a no-brainer for me if he plays, given my other starter is LT.

I felt pretty safe going past our transaction deadline with LT, LaMont Jordan, Kevin Jones, and Turner as potential starters. oops.

Marty said he could have played last game, but he was kept out so he could come back at 100%. I expect he will be back.

As the residet Charger homer in here, Turner will be able to play this week. He could have gone last week but Marty would rather err of the side of caution and let a guy get more rest than risk it and have the guy reinjure and be gone for 4 more weeks. How many touches turner will get this week is unknown. The Chargers used Andrew Pinnock to give LT a breather and keep him fresh in the game vs. Denver. I would imagine they will do the same vs. KC this Sunday. Whether Marty really wants Burner rested and ready will hinge on how Turner feels. If he is not 100% he may see more sideline time.

From Rotowire via ESPN:

Turner (hamstring) could have played on Sunday versus Denver, but head coach Marty Schottenheimer decided to give him one more week to fully heal, Chargers.com reports.

Spin: Turner has been inactive for each of the last three weeks with the hamstring injury, but Schottenheimer said he "fully expects (Turner) to be active this week." When asked about the decision to keep him out last week he said "I just felt that it was important for us to have him at 100 percent rather than putting him back at 85 or 90 percent and running the risk of aggravating that thing." A decision on who will return kicks if Turner is ready will be made later in the week.

Not injury status but interesting.

The New York Daily News reports Chargers RB Michael Turner will be a restricted free agent after the season, and league insiders believe the Jets will be in hot pursuit. The 5-10, 237-pound Turner has good size and speed, evidenced by his gaudy per-carry average (5.9 yards for his career). He has only 58 rushes this season, including five in the 20-plus category - same as the Jets. The Jets have an insider's knowledge of Turner, 24, because OC Brian Schottenheimer was on the Chargers' staff for Turner's first two seasons. The Chargers will put a first-round tender on him and will have the right of first refusal, but they will have to let him go to the highest bidder because they can't afford to pay Turner and RB LaDainian Tomlinson. The Jets have the ammunition to make a deal because they own two second-round picks in 2007

From an article that was posted monday on Chargers.com

If he’d had to, running back Michael Turner could have most likely played Sunday, but Schottenheimer decided to give him another week to fully heal from his hamstring injury that has kept him inactive the last three weeks.

“I just felt that it was important for us to have him at 100 percent rather than putting him back at 85 or 90 percent and running the risk of aggravating that thing,” Schottenheimer said. “Then we’re running the risk of three or four weeks. I think most of you know I tend to err to caution when it comes to player injuries.”

Schottenheimer “fully expects (Turner) to be active this week.” The coach also said that he’ll wait until later in the week to decide who will return kickoffs if Turner is available.
