MIKE X. WILLIAMS (3 Viewers)

^ Is that 8th and 9th rounds in redraft or dynasty rookie/FA drafts? If it's the former, wow, just wow.
8th in redraft. This is a guy I took off the wire two days ago. I asked the guy his thinking about the pick, he seemed to be a believer, can't say I disagree with his logic, only that he took him a bit early IMO. I gotta see who went after him, can't remember.

I am having a tough time deciding in one of my keeper leagues with Mike Williams. Is he worth putting 2 years on and cutting Zach Miller, or would you put 2 years on any of the other 1 year players (besides Jamal Charles because he is already locked in)? We do not start a TE, .1 for Rec./Rush, 6 pt. TD, NOT PPR.

We are already set on signing J. Charles next year and do not have a 1st-3rd pick next year in a Vet./Rookie draft.

Any help would be appreciated and I will return the favor to your posts.

Cutler, Jay CHI QB - $4.00

Romo, Tony DAL QB - $3.00

Charles, Jamaal KCC RB (P) $1.00

Choice, Tashard DAL RB - $1.00

Huggins, Kareem TBB RB - $1.00

Jackson, Steven STL RB (P) - $3.00

Rice, Ray BAL RB - $2.00

Taylor, Chester CHI RB - $1.00

Floyd, Malcom SDC WR - $1.00

Johnson, Andre HOU WR - $4.00

White, Roddy ATL WR - $4.00

Williams, Mike SEA WR - $1.00

Miller, Zach OAK TE - $1.00

Rackers, Neil HOU PK - $1.00

Ravens, Baltimore BAL Def - $1.00

I was laughed at as I picked him with my last pick in a keeper league.
I picked him off Waivers Saturday. Dropped DHB who I took in round 12 as WR6 of 12 team keeper leagueLove his situation. Even getting trade offer for him (T Jones so far).

It's debates like this that make the Shark Pool good. Last year I missed with all the Chris Henry hype I bought into here in the pool... Anybody remember? Him and Palmer were connecting, he had a great preseason, great sleeper. But I did strike gold buying into the MSW hype early in the season. Mike Williams is an intriguing player right now. He could turn out to be this years Mike Sims-Walker or this year's Chris Henry. It really is a crap shoot. But what are you giving up to take a flier on him? Late round pick? Free-agent move? pretty much nothing. If it doesn't work out, does it really hurt?
To be fair, Chris Henry got hurt. And then died. So it's not like the potential for lots of points wasn't there.I actually just drafted both Mike Williams in a draft. Can't wait to run out the Mike Williams/Mike Williams/Legedu Naanee WR corp some week.

Henry may have not blown up statistically but fwiw Palmer threw 14 TDs in the 8 games Henry played and only 8 in the 9 he didn't.

I just dropped Massaquoi for him in a 10 team PPR as my 5th WR

I can't pass on a potential #1 WR on a team with their schedule.

Is it too late for you to add both Steve Smiths to your team? Make it happen.

technicalities... technicalities

Thin dynasty team with a flex... started him over Berrian and Lance Moore. Glad I took the risk already. Rooting for him as I got him cheap in almost all my leagues.

Also, I'd like to thank the shark pool for this thread, picked up BMW a few days ago in a start 4 WR league w/ a flex (basically 5 WR) and feeling good about it right now. Thanks guys
You're welcome Phlash. He's still a deep sleeper that hasn't done anything yet. But I still believe with his talent and the opportunity being presented to him in Seattle - people that find a way to get him one their roster are in for a big "told ya so".
I hope all of you are right because I have a bunch of BMW rookie cards to get rid of.

all right - who's got the stones to start MXW tomorrow?
Starting him over Boldin in one league because of Revis Island. Benched him in others.
If that works out I'll tip my cap to you, but IMHO that's the very definition of overthinking things.
I think it's pretty good logic.
I don't think I'd have the stones to do it. Good luck to that guy.
I can't blame him... I vividly remember what Revis did to top WRs last year.

BMW looked pretty good today. Should have had a TD on the first catch, was stopped on the 1 inch line. I think as he gets more comfortable in the offense he'll have some big games. I liked the way the SEA offense looked today, bodes well for his production this year. I definitely see WR2 material with upside.

Mike Williams dealing with thigh injury Published Wed Sep 15 11:20:38 p.m. ET 2010

(TheHuddle) Seattle Seahawks WR Mike X. Williams (thigh) suffered a bruised thigh during Week 1 and is not expected to take part in the team's practice Wednesday, Sept. 15, reports Danny O'Neil, of The Seattle Times.

Analysis: Williams continues to have tremendous upside in the Seattle passing game and has proven exactly why the team parted ways with T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Fantasy owners looking for a solid sleeper this season at wideout should look no further than Williams in what appears to be a much improved Seattle offense.

Seahawks WR Mike Williams has a thigh injury and was limited in practice Wednesday. Williams is expected to be a full participant Thursday and ready to play in Week 2 against the Broncos, coach Pete Carroll said.(Updated 09/15/2010).

Anyone know what's wrong with BMW? Didn't practice yesterday & can't find any info....

Thanks  Now the question is will he be covered by Champ all day...

I know he's a great story. And many folks are rooting for him (including me). But, am I the only one who thinks he looked like the slowest receiver ever? He may work out in Seattle. But that near td grab, he looked like he was running through wet concrete.

I cant imagine other teams wont scheme against this.

I really think expectations are too high for this guy.

I have him on my bench. I am interested to see how he performs against Champ Bailey this week. IF he performs similarly to last week, I may consider keeping him one more week. Champ shut down MSW completely, last week. If BMW can get 4-5 catches for 60 - 70 yds like last week against Champ, then he is definitely going to earn another week on my roster. It also depends on what is on the waiver wire for week 3, too. Someone did drop Mike Sims-Walker. Hmm...

Yeah, I watched the game, too, and thought the same thing. I can see him using his size to go after jump balls especially against smaller DBs and in the endzone, but in that play he did look slow...no acceleration. That said, I didn't see much from the other Seattle WRs including Branch, so fantasy-wise, I think he still has potential. He should get the most targets in Seattle. What he does with those targets, I'll wait and I'll see more than one game before making a final decision. I definitely don't place him in the tier 1 WR group, but still a good WR2/WR3 for most redraft rosters.

No need to bring facts into the argument here.

I snagged Williams in the 13th round of a 12-team redraft - what was funny is that the CBS Sportsline nametags didn't even have him listed, I had to write him in. I don't expect him to put up Andre Johnson numbers, but I'll wait a few games and remain cautiously optimistic ...

Anybody rolling with Mike X this week or are you worried about Champ and/or the injury? Right now I have him at WR3 over Clayton, Mike Thomas and Jacoby Jones
I ain't got the nuts to start him but I got a gut feeling that this will be his coming out week. Good luck.

I realized this error later, when I read the thread about Champ not covering MSW. In any case, if BMW does at least what he did last week against the Denver secondary, then I will keep him around.

Thoughts about him going forward? Does Seattle have too many options and too poor an air attack to make him a valuable asset going forward? Give him a week or two more to see what he does? Is he a hold in dynasty?
