Minnesota Vikings Team Thread (1 Viewer)

Darrisaw is pretty irreplaceable. So yeah that hurts the whole offense significantly I think.

I didn't watch the Thursday night game at all. Slept like a baby. Didn't even know the score until like noon.

Obviously the coverage is a problem if pressure isn't getting home quickly.
Well, at least they're going to try to somewhat replace him (or at least add O-Line help)....

Vikes acquire LT Cam Robinson from the Jags

If it's like a 5th rounder, sure. Why not?

Edit: Well there ya go...
Vikings acquired OT Cam Robinson and a conditional 2026 7th round pick from the Jaguars in exchange for a conditional 2026 5th round pick.

He’s actually a pretty decent player; better pass than run blocker, who has had availability issues throughout his career

Good leadership skills historically, although this trade came about b/c last game he was visibly pouting on the sidelines throughout due to not starting

This winning in spite of Sam can't last much longer.
Unfortunately, the Vikings are stuck with someone that throws 2 to 4 passes per game that are absolutely worse than a rookie QB. :yucky:

Luckily, they can bumble their way through next week as the Titans are fighting for the number one draft spot next year.

Your team is 7-2 and you're crying about it?!
Do you think you'd be 9-0 with a different qb?
Try being a fan of a team complaining about their quarterback that isn't 7-2
Giants(Jones),Browns(Watson,Winston),Raiders(Whoever),Titans(Levis)
Do you think any of those qb's would have you at 7-2?
Wait, let me get my violin out and play some sympathy music for you....NOT..no sympathy
:violin:

fyi...this is a sarcastic post

Listen Kevin talking as if Sam has just started to turn the ball over. NO.. Go back and watch all the games. You will see he, and the Vikings have been lucky the defense keep missing Int's.

He threw one in the Packer game that would have cost them the game. The ball hit the defender in the middle of his chest in the end zone, and it was dropped.
Luck can only cover for your lack of smarts for so long. :oldunsure:

That might have been Sam's best game in a couple of months. Very few moments of What The :censored: ?

Read stories that O'Connell took him aside all week reminding him to be "protectively aggressive " and it seemed to work.

Once again Kevin can't get out of own way. Up 11 with less than 2 minutes to go, no timeouts.. And you go prevent defense :wall:

But a win is a win..

4 of the last 6 are at home, and they have a realistic chance of winning all 4.

Will they??? Unsure, but they are winnable.

Against Arizona, QB Sam Darnold recorded his 10th game with a 100.0+ passer rating this season, joining Daunte Culpepper (2000) and Brett Favre (2009) as the only Vikings
QBs with a 100.0+ passer rating in 10 games during a season.

No Vikings QB has more than 10 such games in a season.

And somehow looks awful quite a bit doing it. It's crazy.

ain't nothing wrong with ugly wins, they all count the same

Sam ain't perfect by any means but mad respect for the year he is having

don't see that kind of semi-comeback often after 1st round QBs flame out

it's always fun when it happens

That was one of most Vanilla offensive game plans since Kevin got here. It seemed after Aaron's two fumbles he decided to go safe.
And why are they so blind to the OL not being able to protect? Leave a TE in to protect, call some screens.
They are lucky Sam is still walking upright after some of those hits, or it would be Daniel time :scared:

At some point, Darnold has to recognize how horrible his o line is and stop standing in the pocket with zero awareness of the world burning around him.

Next week's game against Seattle is probably the most important non-division game remaining on the schedule because it will determine which division will be featured in the Week 18 SNF flex game. So, they should not look past the Seahawks, even though they had their four-game winning streak snapped.

I don't think they've done a game this season on Fox or CBS in which the main broadcasting duo was calling the game. It doesn't look like the game next week against the Seahawks is going to get flexed into Sunday night, but at least they should have Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady making it America's Game of the Week next week on Fox.

So, with the Lion loss yesterday.. I can't believe I'm typing this but..

I read that If The Vikings win out, they get the #1 seed
:jawdrop:
Destiny is ours to control.

It probably bothers some people, but I sort of like the fact that we are flying under the media radar a little bit.

Let them focus on the Lions and Eagles and other team while we continue to take care of business.

Cannot come out flat tonight and take this game against the Bears for granted.

Few take aways. First, I love those uniforms. Second, it is nice to play poorly on offense and special teams and still cover. Third, Darnold was not good tonight to be sure, but that drop by Jefferson was a big momentum killer early in the game. Fourth, the rush defense looks suspect over the last 3 weeks. They need to get this figured out before they play Green Bay and Detroit. Feels like the defensive line is getting pushed back off the line of scrimmage and having a difficult time setting the edge. The group is healthy, so they will need to figure something out with what they have.

Overall, for a team that had a win total of 6.5 before the season to get their 7th win in a row is awesome. This coaching staff really gets the most out of the roster. Seattle may be without their starting QB and RB next week, but that has still been a house of horrors for the Vikings. Never easy to win is Seattle, regardless of what their roster looks like.

Vikings definitely have the toughest road ahead. Seahawks, Packers and lastly @ the Lions.
Packers have the Saints and Da Bears with Vikings in between.
Lions have Bears, 49ers before The Vikings.

If Geno doesn't play then the Vikings have a great chance to win. Geno plays 50/50.
Packers at The Bank will be loud and thinking they win.
@ the Lions, for possibly the North, and first round bye. :oldunsure:

In true Vikings fashion I fully expect them to win out and get the #1 seed and lose their first game in the playoffs.

A double nut tap would be if it were the Packers that eliminated them

That evil is already on us......we are Viking fans

That was a nail bitter, but 13-2.. Wait, WHAT???? 13-2.. Beyond

Loved Sam laying down on 3rd down instead of forcing something or throwing an incomplete pass at the end.
He once again had 2 passes that should have been ints, but otherwise played very well.
Now, can they sweep the Packers and go into the final week with a chance at the #1 seed

For the first time today I thought about whether I’ll be super disappointed if we lose in the wild card round. I mean, I expected nothing this year and the team just seems to continue to overachieve.

Do we now expect success?

as a lifelong Vikings fan I am now scared.
I am not quite there yet. Right now it feels like we would have to go on the road to Atlanta, then to Philly, then to Detroit. No sense in being scared as that is an impossible task.
Yea. but if they win the next two, they get a week off and wait to see who has to deal with the SKOL Chant!

A guy can dream!! 🎅
Yep....that sets us up for the biggest of nugget punches

It's funny because it's true. Could totally be emotionally crushed if/when we host the Commanders at home in the divisional round and lose haha.

Why must Kevin insist on getting my heart rate near 110??
4th quarter, up 17.. Heart rate around 95..
Then the disastrous 5 minute stretch, checked my watch 109.

Any ways.. The Vikings swept the Packers

Guaranteed they have The Viking vs. Lions game next Sunday night.
Probably should just put in for a Vacation day now for that Monday as I won't be getting any sleep that night.
