Misheard music lyrics (1 Viewer)

Free, "All Right Now"

I always thought they said "Let's move before they raise the ***king rate."

Instead of "Let's move before they raise the parking rate."

Overheard this weekend on a camping trip (no not with MITYH's wife). I don't know if he was being serious or not, but it sure sounded like he was.

Chuck Berry

"You Never Can Tell"

It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished 'em well

You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle

And now the young monsieur and madame have run to Taco Bell,

"C'est la vie", said the old folks it goes to show you never can tell

:goodposting: :bye:

Only recently picked up on this one:

Rolling Stones - "Sympathy For The Devil"

Me: "...and the station screamed in pain"

Correct: "Anastasia screamed in vain."

:duh: :lmao:
my uncle gave me this gem from Beast of Burden:"I'll never be

Your pizza burnin'

Bumping this from a long while back, as the topic came up at a party this weekend and got me thinking of this thread.

Van Halen's "Ain't Talkin' About Love" was playing, and some knucklehead said he thought for the longest time the song was "Eat Chunky Butt Love".

Thought it was another BS one, but after another listen - and several beers - it does actually sound like it.

BTW, some good ones here after re-reading the thread.

I used to work with a guy who said that 3 Doors Down's song "If I could be like that" sounded like they were saying "F*** me like that". Ever since he said that, every time I hear the song I can't help but hear it that way.

The Cars Bye Bye Love:

it's just a broken lullaby

sounds like: it's just a ####### alibi

starts with an f......

My brother thought it was Big Ole' Jed and Lionel

Also-"Put me in a coat.....I'm ready to play"

Friend "I'm gonna take you by surprise and make you realize THE DAMAGE DONE"

Little miss little miss Pepparoni!

Me "Let the bottle bill come and save my soul!"

Can't take credit for this, but I saw this good one on kissthisguy.com (great site BTW):

Robert Palmer - "Addicted To Love"

Might as well face it, you're a d**k with a glove.

I was driving my niece to the store the other day, when Kings of Leon "Sex is on Fire" came on the radio.

She was singing right along It sucks to be on fire

 :lmao: :lmao:

I liked her version better

Up until about 2 weeks ago, I thought the line "Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife" in Meat Loaf's "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" was instead "glowing like a meadow on the edge of the night". I still say my version fits the song better.

I'm your dream, make you real

I'm your eyes when you must steal

I'm your pain when you can't feel, sad but true

I'm your dream, mind astray

I'm your eyes while you're away

I'm your pain while you repay

You know it's SAND PATROL!! SAND PATROL!

Look behind the Chalet
My holiday's complete
And I feel like William Tell
Maid Marian on her, tiptoed feet
Pulling muscles for Michelle

Just figured out a few weeks ago that the "children of thalidomide" lyric in BIlly Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" was not "Chlidren of The Little Mind". Since the lyrics were pulled from erstwhile news items, I had just thought that Children of the Little Mind was some cult or something that had gained notoreity back in the day. Oops.

Also in the same song: I though that Joel was referencing the 1984 Bhopal Union Carbide disaster when he was actually name-chacking Pope Paul VI ("Pope Paul. Malcolm X. British politicians sex").

At least those are realistic. Check out some of these doosies for the tune:

Radiohead's Creep

But I'm a creep...I'm a widower

Wife cleared me up after about 10 years of thinking that was the line.

I once thought White Owl Blunts were White Arrow Doves in Method Man.

eta* Friend laughed hilariously at me rapping along.

I got White Arrow Doves...

My high school sweetheart thought "96 tears" was "now it sticks to ya". Because of how willing to let things stick to her she was, i let that slide.

My own of these was "you look like a stalactite" instead of "silent type" from Dylan's Tangled up in Blue. I still like it better & will still bark it, in my best Zimmerman wheeze, at people who appear out-of-place
