Missing Cleveland teens found Alive 10 years after being abducted! (1 Viewer)

Shoulda put Charles Ramsey on guard duty. Never would have happened.

"So I got back from MAC Donalds and I saw him tyin his sheets up into a rope. Dead give away. DEEAAAAAAAD GIVEAWAY"

While 90% of the population is saying "GOOD" I can't help but wonder if this is bitter sweet for the girls. I really do think that had I been in that situation watching that worthless piece of crap rot in jail, imprisoned like they were, would have been more satisfying..

I think it's more satisfying to them that they're out of this situation.

Maybe.. But are they really ever out of that situation? That has to be something that stays with you forever.

Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say. While the girls still have to deal with what he did to them, they may be able to get some closure now, knowing that he can never harm them again.

i wonder what the protocol is for the next 1000 years?

does he have to stay in the cell? Is he preserved? do they have to install some special cooling system?

these next 1000 years could be costly

Will people feel the same way if they find out this was simply a tragic case of autoerotic aesphyxiation gone wrong? No I don't feel like spelling that correctly.

It is odd to take a plea deal to get life in prison instead of death only to then kill yourself.
Yeah the cynic in me thinks a good enough investigation might find he had some help. But I don't expect that to happen so suicide it is I guess.

I would rather have seen him do his sentence where the other prisoners would make his life an additional hell. They love to prey on those who are convicted of child crimes.

is that actually true?

I hear it all the time, this prison justice where certain criminals are abused because of their crime

but is it actually something that happens commonly? Or is this just something that gets said and repeated and believed as true with little or no basis in fact?

Allegedly there is a perp hierarchy. Child Molesters are said to be at the bottom of the that hierarchy which causes them to be abused because many of their fellow, and sometimes violent, perps have kids and don't tend to use their words well when expressing their disappointment with the molesters behavior. And I did hear this from a couple of gentleman who should know if it was accurate.

My first thought when I heard he killed himself.

Excellent counter point, maybe the 3 of them will have closure. I was hoping he would die a slow painful death. I think eventually someone in prison would have killed him.

In the words of former Kern County sherrif Carl Sparks (after deputies shot and killed a man who had kidnapped and raped two teen girls) "Now we don't have to rehabilitate the son of a #####."

I imagine they are happier that he no longer exists.

Castro's attorney Craig Weintraub said that the family was devastated by the news of the death. He said that although many people will probably wish Castro “good riddance,” the family wants a full investigation.

“We're going to get to the bottom of it. There's no way we're going to let this go,” Weintraub insisted. “This is a human being, we are in a civilized society and we expect that the person would be protected when they’re institutionalized, and so there is an obligation on the part of the prisons and I would doubt that the prison officials would dispute that. They have an obligation to ensure there wasn’t a suicide or anything else and we pray there wasn’t anything else.”
If this is what Weintraub and/or the family are praying for then they are messed up.

This guy summed Castro up best:

“These degenerate molesters are cowards,” Cuyahoga County prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty said in a prepared statement emailed to reporters. “They con and capture vulnerable children. This man couldn’t take, for even a month, a small portion of what he had dished out for more than a decade.

Is the family just trying to set up to sue to get a payday?

Probably.

Bah, he got off easy. He should have had to suffer for decades in prison.
No way. Ohio saved big $ here. Now if prison was really prison, no A/C, eat rats for food, killing each other off, then I would tend to agree.

BTW, why don't we have a noose at the ready in every cell? Seems like it would save some $. There could even be an instructional video for new inmates on proper use of your noose.

No instruction needed, just a length of rope left on the bedside table. They'll figure the rest out from there.

It doesn't happen on Orange is the New Black.

:sarcasm:
