Missing Malaysian jet news (2 Viewers)

I don't think anyone should be allowed to express an opinion on this flight unless they were ticket holders. They were the only ones with monies invested in it.

the plot thins....
Lol. Seriously. On the one hand it's interesting to learn about the technology and all, but to hear the same thing over and over all day long on CNN is a bit much. Those guests don't get tired of being asked the same questions 50 times a day? I think an update in the am, noonish, and evening is suffice at this point to cover when folks are home and put it on the ticker too. Give us breaking news when there really is something we haven't heard already over and over.
It's mind boggling how deep CNN gets into this story. Last night they were explaining everything about how Bluefin-21 works. jesus christ
There is nothing to see here

Oceans are big, and deep, and not full of surveillance fish.
So you think its OK in this day and age that a plane that size can disappear? Seems crazy. Crazy Malaysians.
I think you don't understand the real size of oceans, that's all.
Just go on vacation to the beach GoBirds. You'll get it then...I didn't get it at first either. ;)
He has the answer to all. It was leaked from DC media that oceans are big that's how he knows.

i think it is funny how much this thread bashes CNN for its constant coverage of nothing new, yet there are 92 pages of discussion here on the same nothing new filled with much of the same speculation

So you're not falling for all that "geography" stuff.

In our defense, 88 of those pages are about bashing CNN. Maybe 87.

So Martin Savage went from the simulator to a submarine. This am they showed him and he commented on it being clausterphobic. Now another dude is reporting from the submarine. That's my breaking news on this. :coffee:

An oil slick sighted during the sea search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 did not come from the plane, officials said on Thursday, dashing hopes of finding a definitive answer to the fate of the jet."Preliminary analysis of the sample collected by ADV Ocean Shield has confirmed that it is not aircraft engine oil or hydraulic fluid," Australia's Joint Agency Coordination Centre (JACC), which is organising the search, said in a statement.
I guess it was pomade.

I'm a Dapper Dan man.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!

For the first time since the flight went missing, there is zero mention of the missing flight on CNN.com. Stay tuned for more details.

I'm pretty much at the point where I think any theory is on the table. This may be mostly due to forgetting a lot of the facts. Or not remembering what "fact" was called a "fact" and then the next day changed by new "facts."

Why wouldn't it be at the deepest possible depth of the ocean? Seems to fall in line with the rest of this story.
I think the only way they can ever find the damn plane now is if someone offers a massive salvage reward .... over many years.

There are parts of the ocean that we've never seen, mapped, been to the bottom of. This is probably one of them. I bet they don't even know what's down there or how far down it goes.

Apparently a piece of sheet metal with rivets washed up on western Australia

"The more we look at it, the less excited we get," Dolan said.
This is never a good sign...

Also from the article:

Australia is just one of a handful of countries that have the capability and technical know-how to decipher what's inside a black box.
How is it that only a handful of countries can read what's in a black box, but many countries have their own AIRLINE? I feel like in terms of technical know-how, operating a flying machine should rank higher than interpreting flying machine data stored digitally on a recording device.

After seven weeks of intense but fruitless searching, the international air effort to find Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is over. But some ships will stay on the Indian Ocean to gather any debris that might surface.

More than 600 military personnel from at least seven countries solemnly posed in front of search planes Tuesday for a commemorative photo. Some traded military patches and mulled over their disappointment in not finding the Boeing 777.

Reports this morning of claims that plane wreckage was found in the Bay of Bengal. Authorities are working to confirm.

That would put the plane on the northern path.
There's a part of me that would love to see the spin they put on things if it turns out the plane just flew on it's normal flight path and crashed. How the heck would you discount all the engine ping data, radar readings, etc?
