Alright, on to @Eephus mix. I've listened to his and Tasker's tonight because I know we share similar taste in music and I'm in discovery mode.
Right off the top, I know (and love) Camera Obscura - Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken but didn't know the song i"t was referencing. I think I saw that it was a song by some guy and The Commo... and assumed it was a 60's song, but I was wrong and Are You Ready to be Heartbroken is definitely a great new find from this mix for me. From there I was familiar with the next couple oldies songs but then another new one I really liked...
The Tide That Left and Never Came Back is a really good song! The Veils are a band I've been aware of but not sure I ever actually listened to? But I do really like this song a lot. After this, we hit a run of songs I love (but was previously familiar with). The Manics songs ("If You Tolerate This...") is a regular in my rotation. "The Light Pours Out Of Me" is a relatively new find for me (though I had discovered it before this draft), Bowie is the best, BRMC have few songs I really like but "Whatever Happened..." is one of them for sure.
My favourite new song on the mix and honestly maybe my favourite song song on the whole thing is "I Don't Have Time To Stand Here With You Fighting About The Size Of my ####" by Ballboy. I don't know this song or band but research tells me it's from 2004, which makes sense, it's so much of the era where Interpol/The Killers/Hot Hot Heat were blowing up and I feel like had I known it then, I would have put it right along side the other classics from that time. As it is, this song will have a ton of staying power with me.
From there, the Stars song "Hold On When You Get Love..." is a long time favourite of mine and "I Can't Change Your Mind" is one that was introduced to me via the Hoof (I'm thinking either @AhrnCityPahnder or @JZilla and has never left my staple of regular listens.
"I don't Know Why I Love You" is pretty great (and brand new to me) as well and "Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards" is an absolutely perfect album closer.
