10:51. Have accomplished dinner, sex and NCAA hoops into my evening. Now, wife is asleep. Beer poured, thc ready, TCM movie on.

:hifive:   That's what I demolished over the last couple days.  I was surprised how good it was for the price - I think it was $13 at the local grocery store.  Costco sucks me in with their $29 bottle of 1.75L Tanqueray once in awhile too.   There is a local WI gin that my wife bought me a bit ago, Death's Door, that I loved, but usually am too cheap to get it again.  My old ### is usually looking for the bang for the buck booze.

I bought 2 Spoon tickets this week just because I couldn't not. I assume someone will go with me :lol: :unsure:

I'm pretty sure this is why we have free health care and you don't. A 26 oz bottle starts at like $30 here. Same for 24 (bottles) beer.

I can get it, it's just on the next package up on Dish Network, and I don't work so I don't push it too much with the perks.  I get a ton of #### from the library on BR, but having that on dish would (probably) prevent me from getting sucked in to #### like Chopped over and over. 

Jealous of the THC, but just like somebody else posted in here (I think), I have never not puked when mixing the two, so tonight I was more jealous of the classic movie than the reefer.

Funny, deaths door is the  gin my wife often has around. When everyone said they wanted martnis, I looked for it in our bar but couldn't find it. I don't know anyone else that drinks them.

Nice.  Wife just informed me that Spoon was coming to Madison around my birthday, so we might get tix for that.  I also saw that Clutch and Primus were on tour together this year and that made my PJs tight.  Not sure who would go with me to that though...

Honestly most of the movies are available on YT. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd cut back big tilt on my cable. It's a ripoff. TCM is one of the FEW good channels. Also, still think it's weird so many people got sick mixing weed and booze.

I just saw where you are from.  I guess it's a Midwest thing?  I think they are from Middleton just down the road from me...

 
I'll give a mo' better review of @The Dreaded Marco's mix when I am not as tipsy, but loved the #### out of it.  I think the stand out for me was the Eels song.  I had to check a couple times b/c I swore it was a Beck was a B-side of Sea Change or something.

I posted earlier in the draft I get the spins if I drink a good amount of alcohol and then smoke pot. I haven't smoked pot in years. I don't miss it. I would like to grow it if it was legal here.

I want to think and tell you that we're taxed very heavily on the "vices" of alcohol/tobacco/gasoline... since I think those are three areas we pay more than the states. Also, income tax is high. Also, legalize and tax the #### out of weed already... and I think it's mostly true.  but I'm not it applies 100% to booze. The Tanqueray #10 Marco referenced as being $30-plus, is $48.95 CAD, which is about $36.50 USD - is that far off what you pay? Apparently our LCBO (The government run agency that buys all the liquor for the 10 million people who live in Ontario) is the largest liquor importer in the world, so they can get incredible prices. I know on craft beer, we often have better prices than our US counterparts despite the prices.

At the low end though, the floor for 24 beer in Ontario is set at $33.95 (~$25.50 USD). I feel like you can all get a lot beer for much less than this..

 
1st random music rant - WTF happened to my beloved Smashing Pumpkins?  There was a 2-3 year stretch where they were probably my favorite band on the planet.  They they overextended themselves with that damn double album.  Kinda like Use Your Illusion - there is an amazing album in there if you could just pick the best 11-12 songs from both discs.  Then they just went into a tailspin.

I think you're wrong and Mellon Collie is amazing and Adore pretty great too..

Not to get all political, but no way weed goes full blown legal with the private prison system getting out of control.   Honestly the booze prices seem on pace, maybe slightly higher.

I can't stand Adore (but to be fair, I haven't listened to it in years).  Maybe I undersold MC a tad, but I am listening to it now and there is way too much filler #### for my tastes.  Stuff like Cupid De Locke, We Only Come Out at Night, Take Me Down, etc.. 

I think there are some epic songs on the album though.

It's not the mixes, as much as the thread with all the wonderful people we have in here discussing songs and life and weed and gin and beer. The FFA is often a hostile place these days and these threads are full of love and mutual enjoyment of great music and talking about simey's cats and supporting each other through real life #### and honestly, we always need a music draft thread or equivalent here because they bring out the good and joy in people where so many other threads are all combative and angry, and pretty much all my favourite people on these boards are in this thread. :wub:

 
For the most part I liked KP's mix. Black Flag and Circle Jerks are the only ones I didn't care for. Songs I didn't know that I liked a lot were from the Buzzcocks and Artic Monkeys. The White Stripes song reminded me that I need to listen to their albums more. I saw Jack White back in 2014 when he played at Farm Aid, and he was great. I was actually surprised at how entertaining his set was. Life got in the way and I didn't revisit the White Stripe albums, but now I will.
