MJD vs Chris Johnson (1 Viewer)

I can't help but compare MJD with Chris Johnson. Both are explosive running backs in time splitting situations.

MJD rookie year 2006

941 rush yards (5.7 avg)

46 catches for 436 yards

15 total tds

Johnson rookie year 2008

715 rush yards (4.9 avg)

24 catches for 164 yards

6 total tds

Who gets the first chance to be the featured back for his team?

Who would you rather have for 2009 and beyond?

I like MJD and consider him a top-5 dynasty RB, but other than Peterson and maybe Westbrook, in a PPR, I'm not sure there is a RB I'd rather have than Chris Johnson.

Chris Johnson is averaging 18 carries/game. I'm pretty sure he already is his team's feature back.

I own lil' Johnson in both of my leagues, and one of the pre-draft deals I made was sending MJD for the pics to get CJIII. I wouldn't trade Johnson for Drew straight up!

I own both and wouldn't trade either of them in Dynasty. MJD has been frustrating with his line playing so poorly but he has too much talent to move for another player.

I own MJD & would rather have CJ. I will not be keeping MJD. He's overrated. I'm trying to work a deal for McFadden for him.

Jags OL concerns have thrown such a monkey wrench into all Jags for FF.

I'm sure they'll have even more linemen in camp and do whatever is humanly possible to combat bad luck from re-occuring in 2009.

Don't underestimate either back's ability to "break another team's back" when they come in from the sidelines. Fred and Lendale are very important here. If I were either coach, I wouldn't change a thing. If Taylor's done, I'd go get another back or use Greg Jones on 1st and sometimes 2nd, and short yardage. They may not need another back to pound away at a D and loosen them up but, it works so well, why change it?

For the remainder of this season, it's Johnson in any format, although the threat of meaningless games as early as Week 15 scares me a little.

For keeper/dynasty, it depends on the league.

Heavy TD league: I'll lean slightly to MJD.

Standard league: I'll give the edge solidly to Johnson.
