MLB 2018 (5 Viewers)

For the early on FD, I am thinking about fading the Indians (and actually taking the SP against them since he seems good vs. RHBs) and trying Color, Min, W.Sox.

Since I'd like to break my Tigers losing streak I put in a $1 SE with Lynn/Velasquez, 3Twins, Blackmon and the rest Hou.

Pivetta killed my lineups last night so going to double down but cover myself with Blackmon. Fading Verlander is scary but he doesn't always pitch well on the west coast though the time zone difference isn't as bad for him now.

Clean sweep of turds for the day.   That Mets/Az game dudded bigly for me.   I was excited too - I think a LU had 90pts from just 3 players with a game stack there looming.

Oh well, let's look at today...

So no Peralta in your stack?

For SP gotta like Kluber today but so expensive and no one really under 8k to pair him with unless you roll the dice on Yanks rookie or Lopez vs Tigers. I like Stripling the best for the price . SF played 16 innings yesterday and then flew from Mia to LA. Also like Paxton,Skaggs and then Porcello and Gio behind them.

Would like to play Nats,Yanks,Dodgers and Hou tonight but will be hard with the pricing. Cin lefties in a good spot as well.

On Dk, but it didn't matter over there.  It was the RHBs that stood out as far as stats given up by the SPs in the game, so mostly the LUs were something like Goldy/Murphy/SS + Cabrera/Frazier/Nimmo or Bautista.

The podcast was talking up Lugo as a cheap option today vs. Az

Cheap guy for gpps they were talking about on the podcast was Fletcher, the SS for the Angels.  Evidently was balling in the minors and scored a bit yesterday.  3K on DK, and 2K on FD

Initial list after looking the SP stats for bats to target:

Pitts-L, Cin-L, Wash-L, SD-L, Philly-R, W.Sox-L, Dodgers -R.    If I remember right, I think there is good team BvP for the Cubs vs. Wacha.   I assume a ton of eyes will gravitate to the hot game in Tex and Colorado will be popular as will NY and Houst.

For HR hunting, the teams vs. the SP with the highest HR/9 I wrote down were:

Color, Pitts, W.sox, Dodgers, NY, Houst, Tex, Miami, Seattle, Balt, Clev, Oak.

Highest team wOBA vs. handedness of SP:

Atl, NY, LAA, Houst, Clev, Cubs, Seattle, Milw, SF, TB, Dodgers, Minn, Pitts, Wash.

Miss the days of Stripling being $5700 on FD.  $9100 is a bit high, but will throw him in for one of my .25 GPP (Doing just 4).

All of Cleveland hits Gibson well so I went with the Clev infield and hodgepodge in the outfield

Right now in $1 GPP on FD I have Lugo, Encarncion,Kipnis,Lindor,Ramirez,Jankowski,Nimmo,Inciarte,Gardner

Lugo has the K's, has pitched well and shut down the Yankees and he is really cheap.  May do a .25GPP with AZ stack in case they clobber him.

Good luck all.  Yesterday was $1 in and $2.50 out in the $1GPP with German and a AZ/NYM hitter lineup.

Well, how come that idea worked for you?  Az/Mets was all 3 of my 3max LUs...

I like that $1 gpp and was looking at Cleveland too - and had the same thought of a stack that eats up the infield a bit.  Color-Rs do that as well, but I assume they will be more popular.

Right now I am staring at the Wash-L stack as a starter for my $1 FD LUs.  Currently I have:

Godley -Adams- Gyorko -J.Turner -Fletcher- Harper- Eaton or Soto- Meadows- Arenado

Looked at their projected ownership.  One surprise team on their top 5 most popular teams:  Tex, Color, NY, W.Sox, Pitts.    Some of the lowed teams I was looking at:  Clev, LaD, Cinc, Cubs, LAA.     Seattle is their lowest owned (even lower than Minn vs. Kluber), so I will fire a couple 25cent LUs with them.  They are a decent team vs. RHPs and Cruz/Seager/Haniger/Zunino on paper hit what Porcello throws.

SPs were as expected:  Kluber, Paxton, Stripling, Morton over 10%.  Gausman and the NY SP between 5-10%, and everybody else under 5% owned.  Makes me like the SPs in the Mets/AZ game even more.

Ended 2 Lugo and 3 Stripling.    Lugo has CLEV stack and a HOU stack behind him.  One Stripling features meat of AZ stack, one MIA stack(?!) and the other a hodgepodge.

Springer was a favorite last year, but not had much luck with him this year.  So, expect a 0 from him tonight because he is in a couple of my lineups.

ETA -- Just looked at RW projections.  They are not very high on either Stripling or Lugo, both down towards the bottom.  RW must be expecting lots of offense because their optimized lineup is coming in at 146 (47 from Kluber), usually comes in 120-130's range.

RW Optimized Lineup

Corey Kluber (R)CLEP-MIN (R)$12,000 47.29

Dominic Smith (L)NYMC1?@ARI (R)$2,000 10.45

Austin Barnes (R)LADC1?SF (L)$2,000 10.65

Rougned Odor (L)TEX2B5COL (R)$2,300 11.444

Nolan Arenado (R)COL3B3@TEX (L)$4,600 15.99

Trevor Story (R)COLSS4@TEX (L)$4,300 14.64

Joey Gallo (L)TEXOF7COL (R)$3,000 13.06

Michael Conforto (L)NYMOF?@ARI (R)$2,600 12.34

Chad Pinder (R)  2,200 10.45

4 .25ers

Kluber Lugo McCann Adams Altuve Valbuena Peraza Soto Winker Duvall

Paxton Skaggs Barnhart Bird Hernandez Turner Corrra Kemp Reddick Winker

Stripling Skaggs Barnhart Votto Wendle Arenado Galvis Springer Dickerson Hernandez

Stripling Gonzalez Narvaez Abreu Moncada Bregman Gregorius Soto Taylor Pirela

Good luck!!

Yep, the optimizers just keep spitting out cheap Pitts and Tex guys to fill in around the rest.  Again, a lot of those guys are cold, so it does feel weird jamming them all in one LU.

Yeah, I don't have enough Tex/Col and half my SPs crapped themselves (Kluber,Gio)  Need Stripling, Skaggs and Dodger stack to come thru and save me.

Broke even on DK thanks to a pick 'em 3 man win.  Had 87pts there.

FD down a couple bucks, but it could have been worse.  I actually didn't have a lot of Paxton, and instead had a bit of Godley.   Wash stack didn't pan out, but I had enough Houst, Color, Cubs to keep the damages down.

Decent night considering the SPs I paid up for tanked. Stripling Skaggs cashed in a .25 and $1 SE. Gio lineup missed cashing by .15. Also won a 3man pickem. $4 in $8.15 out.

I really wish they would fix the payouts for the 5man contests on DK.

I put in for another 3man for the early one:  Trout/Freeman/Arenado/Didi/Yelich/Gattis.   Tier 4 was the tougher one for me.  I liked the Cinc-L bats and L.Martin too.

I also have something in for the $1SE.   Trying to get Scherzer in there, but it does squeeze you out of good hitters, and it's a slate full of good options.

I never do the 5man either because the way it pays youre better off doing the 3man. My 3man for today is almost the same as yours but have Turner over Gattis. Going to be driving alot today(taking Dad out for Father's day and 2 grad parties) so going light. Doing the 3man and 2 .25ers, 1 Scherzer/Guerra and 1 Freeland/Castillo. Arenado is in all my lineup as he's finally on fire.

2 .25ers

Scherzer Guerra Maldonado Desmond Pirela Arenado Galvis Jones Mancini Pinder

Freeland Castillo Ianetta Desmond LaMahieu Arenado Profar Trout Yelich Jones

Good luck all!!

Did $2 single game last night because I did not get a lineup in.  AZ/NYM game.  Won $5 because I only had enough money left to afford Conforto for final spot.  Doing $1 single game tonight CHC/STL.

It is basically guess who will have a good game and make them your MVP, or at least get them in the lineup.  And no pitcher needed.

Ozuna(*), Pham, Zobrist, Scwharber,Munoz.

And if I lose I only wasted 5 minutes.

Just played 2 .25ers last night and both finished mid 90s about 30 from cashing. 1 I got the SPs right but no bats and the other had hitting but SP sucked.

Today at SP going with a mix of Clevinger, Vasquez,Hamels and Taillion. Hitters I like Det,Tex,Phil,LAA and Coors of course. Looking like another day where there could be weather issues.

Back at it today after taking a mini break.

Unfortunately, it's a Coors slate where it looks like the SPs and bullpens are not good.  Lately it seems like I have been running into the chalky options being the way to go, and I am not on them in the gpps usually.

Main ideas I had written down were:  Mets, Color, Atl, Angels-R, Oak-R, Az, Wash-L (been burning me for the last week).   Atl has the DH, so I think a weird way to go but still have upside on FD is to try Flowers and Suzuki in a stack and skip over Freeman.  I will probably try that in a cheap LU.

One thing they talked about on the podcast and were getting excited about was the KC stack.  Evidently Hamels has trouble holding people from stealing bags to begin with, and Kiner-Falefa is slated to catch and hasn't done so before, so the stolen base upside is through the roof if that's the case.

Looking at those two as well, especially if StL rolls out the 8RHBs again.  I also had Soroka written down as a cheaper option for FD, but he doesn't look like quite as much of a deal on DK.

For a cheap (5.9) SP I'm going to take a flyer on J Rodriguez from Wash to pair with Clevinger so I can get in Arenado and a couple Mets.

On DK B Dozier is only 3.5k but has good career numbers vs Sale- in 41 at bats .293 with 3 HR and 11 RBI.

The Mets SS Rosario is 3.6k and gives you cheap Coors exposure.

There are some cheap bats in Det/Cin but the weather there has me fading it for now.

I am going Domingo German again.  Cheap and hoping for another 9-10K's and a victory.

Minn seems to be hitting very well so hoping they get to Sale a little bit at least.

Probably going to pay up for T. Story today and get some Mets in there too.

And I am not playing Springer so expect big points from him.

How dare you go against the Mariners!.  ;)

I probably should look at him, but my homerism had me look over that as an SP option.  A couple of my WTF 25cent LUs will be Mariner stacks and/or a Marco Gonzales lineup.

Is the ump for DET/CIN super pitcher friendly?  Runs per game is 7.9 and K's are 17.40.  Both those numbers seems on the extreme edges of what normally I see.  Usually 9ish and high 16's.

My month of premium expired over the weekend, and that was paid info.  Flying blind now...

Well, German was not as cheap as I thought and by the time I got done with 7 line ups he was nowhere to be found.  Ended up with Clevenger twice, then Verlander, Peralta, Soroka, Hamels, and rookie Rodriguez for Wash.

Ended up with $2200 left a bunch so I have myself quite a good share of Chad Pinder.  Hoping all the aces do ok, but not great, don't really have any hitters up against them.

Have LAA/SDP/NYM/NYY/TEX/DET scattered about my lineups.

Good luck all.

Well, I tried their KC idea in a couple cheap gpps.:  J.Rod  Desmond Merrifield Arenado Fletcher Harper Trout Orlando Perez

Heavy on LAA as well.
