I'd wait a week to see how this shakes out if you can afford it. Buffalo has a pretty good defense.Or is he worth a start in week 1? Who knows what the RB situation in SEA will bring, but what should we take from Holmgren naming Morris as the starter?

If this is true, I will send you money for a case of beer...I think Forsett will be starting by week 6.
I hope you are kidding.2008 prediction: Seattle finishes in the top half of the league in rushing yards (1800 - 2000) and yards per carry (4+). And while neither Morris or Jones has what we would call a good fantasy year - they combine for more than 1600 yards rushing.I think Forsett will be starting by week 6.
I know you're a Seattle guy, but is this a joke? He has almost no chance of starting. He's fourth in line at the moment. It will be a good season for him if he does a good job returning kicks and will stay on the roster.I think Forsett will be starting by week 6.
As of August 24, the Tacoma News-Tribune was reporting that Julius Jones was losing snaps to Forsett in practice. There hasn't been a lot of good news about Jones so far. He was out of shape and didn't grasp the offense. Nobody wanted Morris to win the starting job over him, but it wasn't even close. Forsett has looked better than either of them, and he went from being a practice squad candidate to a roster player. He's going to get some snaps. If he does something with them, he may get a real look.I know you're a Seattle guy, but is this a joke? He has almost no chance of starting. He's fourth in line at the moment. Morris has averaged 6.7 yards per attempt, mostly in the first quarters against starting DEF units. Not sure that Forsett has looked better except for the second half of the CHI game - against 2nd and 3rd team DEF. The last game Forsett simply looked overmatched. As of August 24, the Tacoma News-Tribune was reporting that Julius Jones was losing snaps to Forsett in practice. With Morris, we have a bunch of actual real-game performance to look at. He's just not that good. If he was, they never would have signed Jones, who's pretty similar in what he brings to the table. I know that people point out that he has a decent YPC, etc., but he doesn't get the yards when he needs them, and he's pretty much allergic to the end zone.Unfortunately, Jones looks like what all the Dallas fans said he would look like. Duckett's also proven over years that he's not really a starting NFL back.Of all their running backs, I'd rather see Leonard Weaver get the ball, but that's not going to happen. As far as a serious response to the original post, I think Morris is going to prove frustrating and ineffective, so Jones will get in as Holmgren tries to go with the hot hand. I'm afraid neither one will be the answer, and it creates an opportunity. I admit it's a longshot and a lot of it is based on not wanting to watch another year of an ineffective running game, but he may get a look, especially if the passing game struggles with all the injuries.Morris has averaged 6.7 yards per attempt, mostly in the first quarters against starting DEF units. I think MoMo has looked much better than JJ.Neither back has stood out from the other
He's looked considerably better. I don't think there's any question he earned the right to be the starter. The question is whether he'll take the job and run with it. I'm not sure he'll be anything more than he is and I think Holmgren knows that and that's why he's not ruling Jones out as being the starter in Week 2. But right now, I think Morris is the team's best option at RB and he may be their best option all season long if Jones doesn't show a lot more than he has to date.I think MoMo has looked much better than JJ.Neither back has stood out from the other
I think the Seahawks will realize now how good a RB Morris is. I think they took him for granted, now MoMo has beat out the other guys.Thu, Sep 4 Frank Hughes, of The News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks RB Maurice Morris will start at running back in Week 1. However, head coach Mike Holmgren said he was not sure how he would split carries between Morris and RB Julius Jones or what the plan would be moving forward. With Morris, we have a bunch of actual real-game performance to look at. I'm not sure if they took him for granted as much as they had a RB (Alexander) who was considerably better. Now they don't have anyone who's better. Morris has earned the starting job. Now it's up to him to keep it.I think the Seahawks will realize now how good a RB Morris is. I think they took him for granted, now MoMo has beat out the other guys.
So, if he was that good, they wouldn't have signed J. Jones or Duckett, huh? So they would have gone into the regular season with MoMo and Forsett as the only RB's on the team, right? You realize that virtually NO teams carry only 2 RB's, especially when the backup is a rookie. They had to bring in SOMEBODY.So, in other words, you're trying to say that because Seattle brought in a 2 RB's that have failed in their previous locations are supposed to be a real threat and a reason why they don't think Morris can handle it? If that were the case and they didn't think MoMo was good enough, then after seeing that not even J. Jones or Duckett could beat him out, they would have brought in someone else. And they've brought in................um...........no one. With Morris, we have a bunch of actual real-game performance to look at. He's just not that good.
