Who is this Chris Jennings that keeps getting the ball?
This is what I want to know. And why is he getting so many carries?
Chris Jennings was one of our preseason darlings. ran hard and looked solid. James Davis had such a great preseason that a lot of people overlooked it. I loved what I saw from Jennings though. seemed to have nice quicks and power.ETA: stuck not being able to see the game, but from seeing the game logs, it looks like we're showing a little bit of life.
Thanks for the info on this! Do you know if he will be a threat to steal carries going forward?

Mangini must absolutely hate Jerome Harrison. He got significant action in one game this year. In that game he had 152 rushing / receiving yards combined. So now instead of giving him some more action, they are playing Chris Jennings. Any other Browns fans have any insight on this?
Rotoworld today:
Browns rookie RB Chris Jennings has reportedly been getting more practice reps than Jerome Harrison for the past two weeks.
I know nothing about the kid except he went to Arizona and played one game in the CFL.
From what I've seen, Jennings is a north-south bruiser who runs with a bit of violence. Limited sample size though.
I can see that, but that would lead me to think he's not the same type of back as Harrison. I must be the only one looking for the ability to break a long run out of a running back for the Browns.

I was as wrong about Brady Quinn as I've been about any QB coming out of college since Ryan Leaf. Like Leaf, I thought he had everything. You could never be sure, but I figured he had as much chance as anybody to be the next elite NFL QB. I guess he still could be, but he's been so disappointing thus far in his career...
And you are basing this on the five or six starts he has had in his NFL career to this point?

I'm not looking for the 80 yard run, but Lewis can get a hole the size of Mt. Everest and still only gain 8 yards. I think Jennings has the ability to get to the 2nd level, but I'm not sure he can outrun the secondary. So what? That can be said for a lot of RB's. At this point, why are we playing Lewis so much? This season is basically tryouts for half the skill players on offense, so why is the RB position automatically handed to a 30 year old RB who is retiring after the season? Play Jennings as much as possible and see what the kid has. Harrison needs to pick up the blitz and not lose his head. I can't blame the coaches for their reluctance to play the kid.

Cleveland has always looked for bruiser backs. Backs who are tough to tackle and hard to take down. It goes all the way back to the Jim Brown days. They don't like backs who are home run hitters for some reason.

OK, I'm bored...here is the official player bio from the Cleveland Browns official website:

Hey, if you can run a team without a GM, why would anyone expect them to have a PR department? His bio from Arizona:

Chris Jennings bio

A Ryan Torain all star?

Don't agree with everything you said, but  on the bolded part.

I've held Harrison for so long and now this

Time to move on I guess.

I think the Browns pull this out. 7-3

Where's the ball going? Not very far down the field...

Pathetic game planning. How many offensive TDs does Cleveland have...five, six on the entire season?

Yeah, I might not like Harrison, but I would rather see him than Lewis.

how do you let them run a play from the red zone with 10 players on the field? Cleveland is a special kind of pathetic this year :goodposting:

Wow, I was just about to post that I did not think that the game could not be worse than the match-up, so Mason and Rice make back to back big plays to finally put points on the board.

Quinn does not even look downfield; Gruden hit that on the nose.
Brian Daboll is in over his head; he was the Jets QB coach, and Mangini brought him with him. Historically bad performance.HOLY COW!! SOMEONE (Mason) MADE A PLAY!!
That's one interpretation. What really happened is Brandon McDonald fell down.
Brandon McDonald is Deon Sanders without coverage skills. I can't remember the last time McDonald actually made a tackle.

Like the rest of the posters here, I enjoy following the NFL in great depth. In September I noticed the Browns are wearing an "AL" patch on their jersey sleeve. I noticed it again today. What/Who/Why is it a tribute to?
Last owner Al Lerner passed in 2002. Son Randy now owns the team.

Quinn has certainly been a major improvement at QB for CLE... and he sure loves to throw the ball down the field. Now I see why he is called "Checkdown Charlie".

Sweet Baby Jesus!

I have Dawan Landry and Jarrett Johnson tonight - down 3.5 - against Flacco and Ray Lewis.

Nice to be up, and there's no guarantee my lead will hold, but GB Dawan for making this interesting.
