Montee Ball (1 Viewer)

Started him cuz he's my best option and he got opportunity, but he looks awful. Just horrendous. Most likely it's the line, but he's showing no command that he will try to make something happen.

Were people really expecting 2013 Moreno numbers from Ball?

Moreno = The Rodney Dangerfield of fantasy football and real-life football.

The major takeaway from all this debate is that there is no way he should of been drafted where is was going. 1st round and some in second rounds. To the angry posters I sympathise with you but by drafting him that early and basing it on the fact that he could do well in this offence and totally ignoring his abilities was foolish. He wasn't a good RB to begin with.

Maybe after these tougher defences he gets it going but with his style of running and abilities I just don't see it.

I do have a dog in the fight, like I stated I own him but got him in the late 3rd. I'm pissed just like you all but taking him in the the first two rounds was a mistake and I hope he can at least remedy some sort of reward for drafting him but for me he is riding the pine and sad to say after watching the SD/NYJ game, Oliver is in his spot for me.

I have Alfred Blue and Montee Ball...all of a sudden, I look at my roster and I see Blue Ball...there you go. Perfect description of this waste of a high round pick.

Today Manning's thrown an interception on a play that looked like it could have been partially on Ball. And now Manning had to call a time out where it seems that Ball may not have adjusted correctly or quickly enough pre-snap.

Could be losing some of Peyton's trust. Note this is also hopeful speculation for someone with Anderson stashed on a very deep bench.

I understand the frustration in the lack of production, but I don't get how anyone thinks it's his fault. He never has any room to run. That line can't open any holes for him at all.

Are people watching the game? He's getting hit in the backfield.
Yep. My point exactly. Don't know if thats ever going to change but manning is torching their secondary and ball still gets hit in the backfield on at least half his six carries.

Anderson was active the first three games (Wk1: 4-27, Wk 2: 5-31, Wk 3: 2-(-3), 1-1)

No clue why he was inactive today.

hillman may very well be the guy to be the primary rb if ball misses some time, but CJ anderson was supposedly looked at by the team as the closest skillset match to ball and played that role in weeks 1-3. it would not shock me to see him return and get the reps. what a mess

C.J. Anderson is a healthy scratch against Arizona. Ronnie Hillman is the #2. Montee Ball's job is still not in jeopardy.
Any reason CJ has been inactive so often this season? Just the number of RBs they have?
Denver kept Bibbs and Thompson on the active roster because they play special teams. Not really sure why they went with Hillman over Anderson- might have been a matchup thing?

Hillman looked better today than any Denver RB has at any point this season. On the other hand, it's so hard to trust Ronnie Hillman after the last two seasons. I'm not sure what I'd predict if Ball missed extended time, other than a complete and total mess.

i think it was a matchup thing. i read somewhere that the team felt CJ anderson and Ball were very similar in playing styles....

Ball is just horrible guys. Sorry. ZERO burst. He can take what the defense gives him and nothing more. He's a glorified Shonn Greene.

this is why i think CJ anderson is actually the better pickup over hillman....not to mention you know hillmans got the fumbles issues

Per RW:

A source tells the Denver Post that the initial belief is that Montee Ball (groin) will be out "for a while."

Ball is headed for an MRI Monday on what looks like a pretty severe groin pull. He was struggling badly so far this season anyway, rushing 55 times for 172 yards (3.12 YPC) with one touchdown. On Sunday, the backfield was turned over to Ronnie Hillman (15 carries) with Juwan Thompson (three carries) in support. C.J. Anderson was a healthy scratch, but probably only because he doesn't play on special teams. Going forward, we'd expect a committee featuring Hillman as the likely starter and Anderson mixing in as well.

Related: Ronnie Hillman, C.J. Anderson, Juwan Thompson

I doubt he's relevant in fantasy at all this year

Exactly the same situation that we have been seeing for the past 2 seasons. Hillman is the COP guy.

Anderson is the guy to own ...he fits the mold of a McGhee / Moreno / Ball type back

Anderson was the 3rd guy I considered grabbing out of the pool this week. For some reason I don't take the chances I should. There's gonna be a lot of claims going in this week in my league.

god i hope he doesnt fit the ball mold

Something told me to back Ball up with Anderson this week, right before kickoff. I did, and I really hope he's the guy and not Hillman. Who knows. What a waste of a draft spot.

Didn't Moreno go from healthy scratch to starter/stud last year?
