I have a half hour waiting for a client to show so I'll clear a few things up while I wait.....
I do (or did) plan on wearing Cowboys apparel to this thing.
It's true I don't own anything Cowboys related. I would need to "run up my credit card" or whatever stupid joke somebody made.
I didn't start the thread to troll anybody. I only started messing around once this thing went off the rails , which was very early. When these things go bad, they downhill very quickly and I admit I do get a kick out of seeing what kind of reactions I can get out of people and tend to antagonize.
Again, I don't take the internet very seriously. You might be shocked to read this but my name isn't really Steady Mobbin. I do enjoy this place and once upon a time when I was far more active, I got to know a bunch of really, really good people, some people who I consider to be real friends and would help any way I could of needed. Outside of those people, I really couldn't give two ####s about what others think.
So that's the truth. I'm not sure I'll wear Cowboys stuff there, as Id like to go and just enjoy myself rather then invoke any negative reaction in real life as opposed to fake life life this board. I live in the DC area and over the years I have spoken to many of the former Redskins and radio personalities personally. Wearing a Cowboys jersey would be more to mess with them rather then to rub anything in anybody's faces or be disrespectful.
So please flame away or continue to make massive speculations and psychoanalysis.

We had a pole about a year ago on the requirements for calling one's self a fan. IIRC, owning team clothing was one such requirement.
If you're in college or younger, I assume. No respectable grown person whose salary isn't paid by a sporting franchise would be caught dead in team clothing, would they?

I'm with you Freelove. I figured mid to late teens based solely on his maturity level shown. Now he's stating that he has time while waiting on a client. Good Lord could you imagine having someone like this representing your company. I wonder if he'll come in full cowboy gear to greet his client.

I have an Emmitt Smith Gators jersey. I have a few hats and gloves. I might have an Aikman jersey someplace but it's in pretty poor shape.

First of all, your plan is stupid. What? Do you think you are going hurt somebody's feelings by showing up in your Jason Witten jersey? Your tour guide might make a joke, but that will be it.
If you really want to put your money where your mouth is, I will instruct you on what to do. That means that you should not but any Cowboys gear at all other than blue and silver body paint.
Here is the plan. Dress as you are coming from work, a suit or khakis and a button down shirt...bring a bag with you of clothes you need to change into. Then you will change into your real costume. You will probably need to go to a costume shop to get it. You will wear the most gaudy Native American get up you can find, I am talking like a Village People costume to the tenth degree, full headdress with blue and silver feathers, maybe some buckskin chaps. The more skin the better. For face and body paint, obviously you slather yourself in blue and silver. One other thing....cut a hole in your pants and paint your coknballs blue and silver, maybe draw a star on the head for good luck, that will really get the left wingers riled up. Bonus points for you if you can somehow work up to an erection.
Once you get out of the bathroom, security will be called and they will want to put you under arrest. Here is where you need to find a kid or an old lady or something and grab them. Don't harm them or anything, just act crazy enough where people are not only calling the cops, but also are calling NBC Nightly News and Good Morning America.
This will be classic! I would guess you would not only make the front page of Deadspin, you will also become a FBG legend and you will probably single handedly force the Redskins to change their name!! Sure, in real life you will be fired from your job, divorced or disowned, and committed to a mental institution for a few months, but how fun would it be to be the lead story on Sportscenter and get the Redskins name changed to something like the Republicans?
Believe me, this will be bigger than when the Bama fan teabagged that poor LSU lad....way bigger.

Really? I agree that a jersey is ridiculous, but is there really a problem with a ball cap or t-shirt? And I assume zubaz pants in team colors are still cool, right?

I've had this idea for a long time that I'd like to wear not just a jersey to a game sometime, but the full uniform -- pants, helmet, pads, gloves, cleats, all of it. Probably would cost north of a grand but would be so badass.

I also think this would be best done in a full University of Nebraska uni. Be like the John 3:16 guy, except you travel the country sitting in the stands in full Nebraska gear. I'm not sure why I think this shtick would be most awesome with Nebraska, but I feel it quite strongly.It wouldn't be a total waste of money if you could wear it when you go to fight the Christmas shopping crowds.

It went great. Par for the course, 95% of you overreacted. There were plenty of other fans wearing their teams stuff and everybody had a great time.

It was a great time. I took a die hard skins fan and I was really happy for him.
We met all the local radio personalities which was a real treat for me. We met Cooley and Mark Mosley. Despite an email from an intern, no Doc Walker or BMitch.
We all lined up and my GB and I were 3rd in line.
First was the high jump. 25" for this white boy wasn't too bad.
Then the 40. The lady blew the whistle as I was setting up and I got off to a late start so I was prolly butt slow.
3rd was the long throw. The balls were brand new and slick. I should have broke out my receiver gloves but I didn't wanna hold up the line. I threw about 40 yards. I can throw a lot farther so that was a disappointment.
4th was FG kicking with former MVP Mark Mosley. I forgot he was one of the last straight on kickers. My first attempt I kicked soccer style and hit the left upright, but went in. They moved the tee back 5 yards and I Scott Norwood'ed wide left. Then I went straight on and rocked it right down the middle. I was pretty happy with that.
Last was the wonderlic test which was mostly a joke. Questions like:
Albert Haynesworth is:
A: A fat piece of crap
B: Lazy
C: giant tub of Goo
D: all of the above.
After that they had some pulled pork and other food before heading into Redskins HQ. I'm not sure anybody told the receptionist at the front test we were coming because she was basically having a panic attack.
Chris Cooley was in the office painting a mural and doing his radio show. It's SOOOOO weird to see grown men fawning over another dude. I don't normally ask people for autographs but my GB paid $110 for official Redskin receiver gloves and I asked Cooley to sign them. I felt like such a dope but it made my friend really happy so I was happy to do it for him.
And that was about it. I had a blast, and so did everyone else from what I could tell. As I said before, there were guys were other teams colors.
After the outRAGE in this thread I didn't wear anything Cowboys related but it wouldn't have been the cardinal sin some of you said it would be. Y'all really went over the top with that talking about me "Ruining it for other people". Christ, you couldn't have been more wrong.
So it was a great event and we had a great time.

Why? It was never my intension to grief people. Sure I would have enjoyed the ribbing I would have received if I was all Cowboys out but as I've said a few times now- it wouldn't have been a big deal.
